Objectives : This study was to examine the state of customized visiting oral health programs in a bid to help facilitate the unified operation of the programs and the development of required guidelines. Methods : The subjects in this study were 49 dental hygienists who were professionals responsible for customized visiting health care programs across the nation. Results : 1. Regarding the form of employment of the dental hygienists were investigated many contract and daily workers. 2. As to the possession of equipment necessary for visiting oral health programs, denture cleaners(12.2%) were most widely possessed in some regions, followed by mobile scalers(10.2%) and mobile suctions(8.2%). In terms of expendable devices and materials, dental mirrors, pincettes and explorers were the most widely possessed dental checkup devices, and the most widely possessed oral hygiene supplies were toothbrushes, interdental brushes and denture cleaners. Those devices and materials were in more possession than the other types of devices and materials. The most widely possessed equipment for educational purpose was laptop computers, followed by beam projectors and screens. The most widely possessed teaching materials were dentiform, followed by CD-ROMs. 3. Those whom they visited the most for oral health care service were elderly people, followed by the disabled and patients with chronic diseases. The dental hygienists who went out to visit those people outnumbered the others who stayed at public health centers. Concerning the types of visiting oral health care service, the most prevalent service provided to the elderly included denture cleaning/management, oral massage and preventive treatment against dental caries. The most dominant service provided to the disabled involved education of the oral health care act, preventive treatment against dental caries and toothbrushing by professionals. The most common service offered to patients with chronic diseases was education of the oral health care act and oral health education. The dental hygienists paid a visit to a mean of 5.8 households a day. The average weekly number of households cared by the dental hygienists was 27.3. It took a mean of 37.1 minutes for them to take care of each household. 4. As for satisfaction level with the implementation of the visiting oral health programs, they expressed the greatest satisfaction at teamwork with professionals($3.56{\pm}0.94$), followed by the professionalism of their work($3.21{\pm}0.94$) and workload($3.08{\pm}0.94$). Their satisfaction level with the work conditions required for creative job performance($2.75{\pm}0.98$) and partnership with other institutions($2.64{\pm}1.03$) was below 3.0. In regard to the impact of their characteristics, marital status made a statistically significant difference to satisfaction level with workload. The unmarried dental hygienists were more pleased with their workload than the married ones(p<0.05). 5. As to needs for education for professionalism improvement, they asked for education about visiting oral health care skills the most, followed by education about oral health care for patients with chronic diseases, education of planning/evaluation and education of oral health care for the disabled. Conclusions : The top priority for the vitalization of the programs was the procurement of budget, followed by the procurement of equipment and educational media and the procurement of human resources.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of job-related accommodation experience on acceptance of disability, job satisfaction and life satisfaction of workers with disabilities. For this purpose, the panel survey of employment for the disabled(PSED) which conducted by Employment Development Institute was used to investigate the job-related accommodation experience, acceptance of disability, job satisfaction and life satisfaction of workers with disabilities who paid in workplace. Based on collected data, frequency analysis was used to examine the present state of reasonable accommodation, and one-way ANOVA was used to compare the acceptance of disability, job satisfaction and life satisfaction according to job-related accommodation experience. As a result of this study, still there are not enough accommodations or support for workers with disabilities, and duty-related accommodation and work time-related accommodation had positive effect on acceptance of disability, job satisfaction and life satisfaction.
The objective of this study is to analyze the mediation effect of communication and interpersonal relations in the impact of job stress of female workers with disabilities on organizational commitment. The subjects are 508 female workers with disabilities who participated in the 1st wave of the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled in Years7-8 (2014-2015). A multiple regression analysis was conducted, and the mediation effect was verified according to the research procedures of Baron and Kenny(1986) using bootstrapping. The results showed that organizational justice and work environment stress faced by female workers with disabilities had a negative impact on organizational commitment, and communication and interpersonal relations had a partial mediation effect. Based on these results, this study suggested ways to reduce job stress and increase organizational commitment of female workers with disabilities.
The purpose of the study was to conduct an empirical study on the scope and level of social exclusion experienced by persons with psychosocial disabilities. The Wave 6 data of the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled were used to investigate the current status of social exclusion in life areas including income, education, work, housing, health, social network, social participation, and discrimination (N=4,161). A series of logistic regressions were executed, with the psychosocial disability(PD) group being the reference; the reverse odds rations of different disability groups were compared against the PD reference group (OR=1). The results showed that compared with all others, the PD group was about 2 to 11 times more likely to have risks in income, work, and housing; and that compared to other groups except for the autism/developmental disability group, they were about 6 to 10 times more likely to have risks in social network, social participation and discrimination. In conclusion, the authors urged the need for legal mandates to have community based mental health services and welfare services for the disabled more available to the PD groups and the necessity to eliminate various discriminatory legislations that are violating human and social rights of the persons with PDs.
There has been growing attention on the well-being of people with disabilities. The purpose of this study was twofold: (1) to investigate the associations between individuals' socio-demographic and psychological characteristics and clothing expenditure, and (2) to examine the moderated mediation effect of self-efficacy and acceptance of disability on the association between dependency on others and happiness among people with visual impairment. This study was based on secondary analysis of data from the second wave of the 6th Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled collected by the Employment Development Institute. The results of this study showed that average monthly expenditure on clothing was positively associated with self-efficacy, happiness, and acceptance of disability, while being negatively associated with dependency on others. The results also confirmed that self-efficacy mediated the association between dependency on others and happiness. A conditional direct effect of dependency on others on happiness was found, in which negative associations were significant among people with visual impairment who had low and mean levels of acceptance of disability (but not high levels). In addition, there was a significant conditional indirect effect, in which the indirect and negative effect of dependency on others on happiness via self-efficacy was significant for those with low and average levels of acceptance of disability. These findings support the importance of enhancing the independence and acceptance of disability among people with visual impairment, which ultimately contributes to their happiness.
This study is to find ways to improve the life satisfaction of people of disability through disability acceptance and self-efficacy. 1,505 out of 4,400 of Penal Survey of Employment for the Disabled 2nd Wave were applied for the study. Regression analysis, descriptive statistics and correlation analysis by SPSS 23.0 were applied. The study show that the disability acceptance had a positive effect on self-efficacy and life satisfaction. Self-efficacy influenced positive effect to life satisfaction and played a mediating role between disability acceptance and life satisfaction. Base on the result, this study made suggestions for necessity to operate rehabilitation and Psychological cognition integral programs and to find and attend the various programs for people of disability.
This study attempts to examine standards on the effectiveness of the rights to social security of people with disability. The current research makes the standards on effectiveness of social security rights to the disabled. This standards draw four right areas and five general principles from debates about effectiveness of general social security rights and extend for applying three social area to the disabled. Four right areas are benefit coverage, benefit structure, benefit restriction and rights relief. Five general principles are enforceable rule principle, national finance principle, unconditional principle, adequacy principle and penalties principle. These four right areas and five general principles apply to three social security areas of income support, employment security and medical security. Measurement values are 'high' and 'low'. These measurement values divided into two that are used to ensure same intervals. This study on standards to the effectiveness of the rights to social security of people with disability has political and theoretical implications. First, in political aspects, these standards provide objective understanding of the present level of social security policies for the disabled. Second, theoretically the current study expands debates about the effectiveness of general social security through multi-disciplined research. At once this study is significant to establish empirical research foundation.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the levels and influencing factors of the perceived stress and life-satisfaction among mothers of children with disability. Methods : 55 mothers were selected for this study and the self-reporting method to the structured questionnaire were used to collect the data. The data were analyzed with the frequency, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan test using SPSS 14.0 for window programs. Results : Firstly, the level of total perceived stress of the mothers of children with cerebral palsy was 44.28/75, and the average of the items of the perceived stress was 2.95/5. The highest level of subcategory of the perceived stress, 10.82/15, was in parent role stress, and the lowest level of subcategory of the perceived stress, 3.88/10, was in children developmental stress. There were statistically significant differences in the mother's level of stress according to their ages, employment, occupation, and daily activity time and sleeping time. Secondly, the level of life-satisfaction was 3.17/7, and statistically significant difference was found by the treatment cost. Conclusions : We suggest that these variables need to be considered when the stress intervention programs for the mothers of children with cerebral palsy are developed.
Background: This article aims to show that work-life balance (WLB) for workers with disabilities can have important meanings that can affect turnover intention and exclusion from the labor market. Methods: Using the Korean Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled (1st-8th), panel logit models were applied to analyze the effect of WLB on the voluntary turnover intention and behavior of workers with disabilities. WLB types were categorized into four groups (Work-Life Dissatisfaction Group, Only Work Dissatisfaction Group, Only Life Dissatisfaction Group, and Work-Life Balance Group) based on the integration of job satisfaction and life satisfaction. Results: Turnover intention was significantly higher in the work-life imbalance groups (Work-Life Dissatisfaction Group, Only Work Dissatisfaction Group), which is commonly associated with job dissatisfaction. The effect of WLB on turnover intention was 1.38 times higher in Only Work Dissatisfaction Group (β: 2.25, 99% confidence interval [CI]: 1.50, 2.31), characterized by dissatisfaction solely with their job, than in Work-Life Dissatisfaction Group (β: 1.90, 99% CI: 1.97, 2.53), which was experiencing dissatisfaction with both work and life. Only Work Dissatisfaction Group resulted in actual turnover, with females (β: 0.73, 95% CI: 0.37, 1.09) more likely to exit the labor market and males (β: 0.66, 99% CI: 0.41, 0.89) showing a higher tendency to change jobs. Conclusion: WLB policy should focus on job dissatisfaction, a key predictor of turnover intention that leads to actual turnover behavior. Furthermore, women workers with disabilities are a priority policy target group to prevent exclusion from labor.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationships among social participation, self-rated health status, self-esteem and daily life satisfaction of the elderly with disabilities. It especially focused on the mediating effects of self-rated health status and self-esteem on the relationship between social participation and daily life satisfaction. Methods : From the fifth panel survey of employment for the disabled, data for 518 elderly over age of 65 were analyzed with SPSS 22.0, SmartPLS 2.0 M3 and the Sobel test. Results : First, social participation of the elderly with disabilities had a positive influence on the self-rated health status and self-esteem. The direct effect of self-rated health status and self-esteem on daily life satisfaction was statistically significant. However, the influence of social participation on daily life satisfaction was not statistically significant. Second, the self-rated health status and self-esteem had a mediating effect on the relationship between social participation and daily life satisfaction. Conclusions : This study shows that it is important to provide an integrated social participation support program that coincides with a variety of social programs to elderly with disabilities.
