Comparative Analysis of Leadership Characteristics and Emotional Intelligence Between Scientifically Gifted Students and General Students in Middle School Age and Emotional Intelligence's Effects on Leadership Characteristics (중학교 과학영재 학생과 일반학생의 리더십 특성, 정서지능 비교 및 정서지능이 리더십에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this research was to compare the leadership characteristics and emotional intelligence between scientifically gifted middle school students and general students and to investigate the emotional intelligence's effects on leadership characteristics. For this study, 150 scientifically gifted middle school students and 130 general students were participated. The results obtained from this study were as follows. First, the total score of leadership characteristic and sub-domains of leadership characteristic showed significant difference. The leadership characteristic of the gifted students turned out to be significantly higher than that of general students. Investigating gender difference, it showed that the score of girls significantly higher than that of boys in some sub-domain both gifted and general students. Second, the total score of emotional intelligence and sub-domains of emotional intelligence showed significant difference. There were significant differences between the two groups in 'thinking-acceleration ability by emotion' and 'ability of utilizing emotional knowledge'. Investigating gender difference, it showed that the score of girls significantly higher than that of boys in some sub-domain both gifted and general students. Third, it proved to be significantly positive correlation between leadership characteristic and emotional intelligence of gifted middle school students. Forth, the gifted students' emotional intelligence affected leadership characteristic significantly by multiple regression analysis.

The Mediating Effect of Emotional Dissonance in the Relationship between Emotional Labor and Burnout among Clinical Nurses (임상간호사의 감정노동과 소진과의 관계에서 감정부조화의 매개효과)

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify the mediating effect of emotional dissonance in the relationship between emotional labor and burnout among clinical nurses. Methods: A cross-sectional survey design was used. The participants were 257 nurses working at three general hospitals located in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Data were collected by convenience sampling using self-report questionnaires that consisted of general characteristics, and measures of emotional labor, emotional dissonance and burnout. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, correlation, and multiple regression. Results: The findings of the multiple regression were as follows. First, surface acting of emotional labor showed significant positive effects on emotional dissonance and burnout. Second, when surface acting and emotional dissonance were entered into the regression model at the same time, surface acting showed an insignificant effect on burnout, however, emotional dissonance showed a significant effect. Finally, emotional dissonance had a mediating effect only between surface acting of emotional labor and burnout, not between deep acting and burnout. Conclusion: Results of the study suggest that as a way to reduce burnout, nursing administrators should develop educational programs for nurses to perform deep acting of emotional labor instead of surface acting at the moment of truth.

  • This study was conducted using structured questionnaire to 103 dental hygienists who agreed to research among dental hygienists working at Ulsan-based dental clinics in an attempt to analyze the impact of dental roles and social support on emotional labor. Statements of collected data were performed on t-test and ons-way ANOVA, correlation and multiple regression using the SPSS Statistics ver 18.0 for windows program. The study found that the higher role conflicts and greater role ambiguity in relation to direct trade and emotional labor, the higher the intensity of emotional labor, and the more social support, the lower the intensity of emotional labor. The emotional labor of dental hygienists can be solved at a personal level by trying to improve their relationship with members at a dentist's office and by making clear and more professional work segmentation according to their working characteristics. This will help develop a plan to manage the emotional labor of dental hygienists.

  • The purpose of this study is to derive the design characteristics of the pattern, which can effectively support the building facade design and to analyze the correlation of their characteristics. This paper deals with five different design patterns suggested by Ben Pell. They are the applied pattern, perforated pattern, layered pattern, casting pattern, and tiled pattern. This paper analyzes the design characteristics of the applied pattern, which shows the highest point in the previous survey. The 'continuous' has a high emotional correlation. The high correlation with the emotional word 'continuous' and 'regular' was derived. The final emotional design characteristic is 'continuous-discontinuous', and 'irregular-regular'. and these emotional words can be summarized as the relatively highest correlation. In this paper, it is worth analyzing design characteristics of building facade by a support of digital technology and discussing utilization of design characteristics derived.

Effects of Omni Channel Characteristics on Perceived Value, Attitude, and Intention of Consumers (옴니채널 특성이 소비자들의 지각된 가치와 태도 및 이용의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated the characteristics of Omni Channel and examined the influence of them on consumers' perceived functional value and emotional value as well as the effect of perceived functional value and emotional value on user's intention of use through Omni Channel. To verify the research model, the questionnaire survey was conducted on 20's to 40's men and women residing in Seoul and the metropolitan area by convenience sampling. The number of copies used for data analysis was 696. To verify the research model, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and structural equation model analysis were performed using AMOS 20.0. First, Omni Channel characteristics consisted of four factors: instant connectivity, location-based provability, interactivity, and entertainment. Second, the instant connectivity, location-based provability and entertainment positively influenced functional value and emotional value; however, the interactivity was significant only to the emotional value. Third, consumers' perceived value of Omni Channel characteristics had a significant effect on attitude. Fourth, the more favorable the attitude toward Omni Channel is higher for the intention to use Omni Channel.

The Influences of Family Demographics and Children's Emotional Reactions on the Emotional Expressiveness of Korean Parents (가족의 인구학적 변인과 아동의 정서적 반응이 부모의 정서 표현성에 미치는 영향)

  • Emotional expressiveness is a pathway by which parents affect the emotional competence of their children. This study examined how the emotional expressiveness of parents is influenced by the emotional reactions of their children and demographic characteristics within a family context. Data for the present study were from 200 parents in 100 two-parent families who completed self-report questionnaires for emotional expressiveness, children's emotional reactions to stressful situations, and demographics. In preliminary analyses, mothers expressed emotions more frequently than fathers did, and mothers with high expressiveness of positive emotions were more educated and had higher family income. Although fathers' emotional expressiveness was closely related to mothers' expressiveness, none of the demographic factors were related to fathers' expressiveness. When all predictors were considered in hierarchical multiple regressions, family income was the significant predictor for mothers' positive expressiveness, whereas mothers' negative expressiveness were explained by children's emotional reactions, mother education, child sex, the number of siblings, fathers' education, and mothers' time spent with children. When controlled for mothers' expressiveness, fathers' time spent with children was the only significant predictor for fathers' negative expressiveness. The results of this study suggested that parents' emotional expressiveness varied with socioeconomic status. The discussion also examines the gender differences between mothers and fathers in emotional expressiveness, and their relations to children's sex.

Korean Women's Preferences and Emotional Images Associated Fashion Design with Flower Printings (꽃문양이 표현된 패션스타일에 대한 한국 여성의 선호도와 감성이미지)

  • Flower images are used as a design motif in various fields. Flower printings in clothes, in particular, usually represent nature. This study sets out to identify the characteristics of different fashion styles with flower printings, as well as the preferences and emotional images of Korean women in their 20s. The flower printings used in fashion design were classified into 5 types of styles: Modern, Natural Romantic, Maximalism, Neo-Hippie, and Ethnic style. Literature review and survey were conducted to identify the emotional images associated with the flower printings, as well as women's preferences. Through literature review, this study noted the formative elements of flower printings and their characteristics, as expressed in fashion designs. Then, the different styles were classified in order to provide theoretical foundation for the survey. The results of the study were significant in that they contributed to the definition and academic systemization of the characteristics of fashion styles with flower printings. Moreover, the study opened up possibilities for utilizing flowers to express a greater variety of meanings and influences in fashion. The findings can be used to enable fashion styles and emotional influences to be expressed through designs using natural motifs besides flowers.

Service Satisfaction and Continuous Use Intention on Omnichannel-Based Pickup Service

  • Purpose: This study aims to present individual motivation and channel characteristics affecting omnichannel service use, as well as the effect relationship of the brand factor on consumption value, service satisfaction, and continuous usability based on convenience store pickup service, one of online shopping customers' omnichannel use services. Primarily, this study divided consumption value into emotional value and functional value and examined the consumption value characteristics of omnichannel-based pickup service customers. Research design, data and methodology: A questionnaire survey was carried out targeting 324 consumers having the omnichannel-based pickup service user experience in online shopping in Korea. A confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis were carried out based on the structural equation to verify hypotheses. Results: According to the analysis result, individual motivation affected the emotional value, and the omnichannel characteristics affected functional value. The brand effect influenced both emotional and functional values. The emotional value affected continuous use intention, and the functional value affected service satisfaction. Conclusions: Therefore, consumers' emotional and functional values showed differences in consumption behavior. In online shopping companies' marketing strategy construction for omnichannel, it was confirmed that a differentiated approach is needed depending on the strategic goal of satisfaction improvement and continuous use intention consolidation.

  • While technologies such as the 4th revolution and artificial intelligence (AI), which create new value through the convergence of intelligent information technology, are becoming hot topics, the beauty industry is rapidly developing and combining information and communication technology to produce beauty items based on smartphones among mobile technologies. As the area of expands, YouTube is forming a network through various means of information. In particular, beauty-related YouTube videos are a field of great interest and popularity among the public. By classifying the makeup characteristics according to the emotional images shown in domestic YouTube videos by emotional image and identifying the characteristics of makeup, the needs for watching YouTube makeup videos are identified. We aim to build trust in the delivery of information about makeup. The emotional images were divided into four types: 'modern', 'natural', 'gorgeous', and cute. Among the domestic makeup YouTubers, Pony, Isabe and Shinnim, Lamuque were selected. By organizing more diverse makeup-related content systematically and creatively, we expect to have a positive influence on k-makeup not only domestically but also overseas. We aim to provide basic data for follow-up research on makeup YouTuber videos in the field of cosmetology and contribute to marketing plans for the development of the beauty content industry and establishment of promotional strategies.

The reciprocal relationships between parenting attitudes and emotional problems in adolescence: A longitudinal cross-lagged analysis (부모 양육태도와 청소년의 정서문제 간의 상호적 관계: 종단적 자기회귀교차지연 분석)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the reciprocal relationship between parenting attitudes (positive and negative) and adolescent emotional problems as indicated by aggression, social withdrawal, and depression. Methods: This study analyzed longitudinal data from 2,325 parents and their children from the Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018 at three time points over a three-year period (the first to third grade of middle school). Autoregressive cross-lagged modeling was conducted using AMOS 26.0. Results: The results indicated that both parenting attitudes and adolescents' emotional problems were relatively stable over time. In other words, the parenting attitude at a previous point affects the parenting attitude at a later point, and the emotional problem at the previous point continues to affect the emotional problem at the later point. There were no significant cross-lagged effects from both positive and negative parenting attitudes to adolescents' emotional problems. In contrast, adolescents' emotional problems at previous time points positively predicted negative parenting attitudes at later time points. In other words, if there were many emotional problems of aggression, social withdrawal, and depression in adolescents at a previous time, negative parenting attitudes such as rejection, force, and inconsistency at a later time increased. Conclusion: This study can reflect the characteristics of the development of independence in adolescence. Parents should deal with their children's emotional problems based on their understanding of the developmental characteristics of adolescence, and this study provides a strategy for parents to establish appropriate parenting attitudes for adolescents with emotional problems.
