This study aims to identify the effect on the user experiences when the embodied agent in a self-driving car interacts with emotional expressions by using 'interjection'. An experimental study was designed with two conditions: the inclusion of injections in the agent's conversation feedbacks (with interjections vs. without interjections) and the type of conversation (task-oriented conversation vs. social-oriented conversation). The online experiment was conducted with the four video clips of conversation scenario treatments and measured intimacy, likability, trust, social presence, perceived anthropomorphism, and future intention to use. The result showed that when the agent used interjection, the main effect on social presence was found in both conversation types. When the agent did not use interjection in the task-oriented conversation, trust and future intention to use were higher than when the agent talked with emotional expressions. In the context of the conversation with the AI agent in a self-driving car, we found only the effect of adding emotional expression by using interjection on the enhancing social presence, but no effect on the other user experience factors.
Gift-giving is a special behavior where both givers and receivers are interactively involved. Thus, emotion and satisfaction for both sides are core factors in gift-giving research. Recently, gift-giving expands to a mobile venue by the growth of the industries in Korea. In accordance with this trend, some studies have been conducted regarding mobile gifts called 'Gifticon'. However, most of them focused on the phenomenon based on the usage patterns and motives from the perspectives of givers. This study aimed (1) to figure out the emotional differences according to the action of giving Gifticons, and (2) to understand the effects of role and intimacy on the level of gift satisfaction. The results showed that, recipients felt higher levels of positive emotions such as excitement and thrill than givers whereas givers had different levels of gift-satisfaction depending on the intimacies to the receivers. This study is expected to suggest marketing strategies by providing psychological contemplations to a new form of gift-giving behavior, which is expanding toward a new mobile market. Further, it also suggests managerial implications by understanding the level of consumers' satisfaction from the role in Gifticon-giving situations and the intimacies between givers and recipients.
Purpose: The concept of embarrassment as an unpleasant emotion is important in caring for those who are in the continuum of illness and health requiring body care and facing sexual problems. In spite of its nursing implication, embarrassment has not been focused in nursing research. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to develope a conceptual analysis of embarrassment. This analysis would help to understand comprehensively an embarrassing situation in which an intimate relationship between nurse and patient regarding body care of the patient could develope. Futhermore, it would be a basis for developing strategies for prevention of embarrassment which could lead for both patient and nurse to emotionally vulnerable situation because of their failure of self-presentation (impression management). Method: The concept analysis model suggested by Walker and Avant (1988) is used to clarify what is meant by the term 'embarrassment'. Result: This analysis defines the attributes of embarrassment such as follows. First, embarrassment is often attributed to situational factors interrupting a smooth interaction such as intimacy, confusion, vulnerability, exposure of interaction and characteristics of audience. Second, embarrassment is closely related with cognitive factor such as fear of losing face resulted from a behaviour being out of line. Third, embarrassment is closely associated with dispositional factor such as embarrassability. Fourth, embarrassment is an unpleasant and unwanted emotion arising reactively after an interaction had occurred. Fifth, embarrassment encloses physical, physiological and behavioral aspects such as a variety of unique and easily noticeable reactions and a pattern of verbal and non-verbal behaviour for coping in an embarrassing situation. The antecedents were normally socialized adolescents with normal cognitive ability, concern of losing face, embarrassability, embarrassing events related with situational intimacy, confusion, vulnerability, exposure of interaction and characteristics of audience, physical, behavioral blunders resulting in a failure of impression management. The consequences were an emotional coping behaviour, audience's embarrassment responses, and verbal and non-verbal coping strategies of interactional participants. Conclusion: It is hoped that this analysis will stimulate further exploration of this concept and study for developing systematic assessment and nursing practice that diminishes embarrassment of interactional participants.
To identify "Gongsik", defined as food-sharing by picking food from a common plate using personal utensils, we conducted 7 focus group interviews including 47 university students during a 6 month period. Focus group discussions were audio taped, transcribed, and categorized into major themes. We divided Gongsik into the following categories: practical reasons, socio-psychological reasons, boundaries, suppressive situations, emotional characteristics, attitudes towards using different utensils, and future prospects. Gongsik appeared to be useful for fostering quick food sharing, intimacy and solidarity, and a fixed behavior learned at home. If the amount of food was too small to provide individual servings, as in Jjigae, Gongsik was likely to occur spontaneously. Family, close relatives, friends, and lovers sharing common activities and/ or blood ties were composed the boundaries of Gongsik. However, Gongsik was avoided in elegant restaurants or in view of foreigners. Participants showed mixed feelings towards Gongsik. Gongsik conducted with a spoon was considered to increase the degree of suggested intimacy in a food sharing context. Half of the students believed that the practice of Gongsik would be maintained into the future. Gongsik is a culturally-specific behavior that includes both positive and negative meanings. Aside from improving understanding of the cultural aspects of food-sharing, we suggest that the negative aspects of Gongsik related to the issue of hygiene be considered in food and nutrition education.
The purpose of this study was to verify the impact of cognitive and emotional factors on artificial intelligence speakers on the intention of using artificial intelligence speakers. The method for this study was online surveys of people with physical disability. The recognition and necessity of artificial intelligence speakers were also identified, the perceived intimacy, joy, and intention to use them, and a multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to check the influence of each variable on the intention of the disabled to use artificial intelligence speakers. This study have shown that the perceived enjoyment of AI speakers in people with disabilities has shown a significant static effect on their intended use. However, the recognition and necessity of artificial intelligence speakers of the physically handicapped, as well as the perceived intimacy, do not have a statistically significant impact on the intention of using artificial intelligence speakers, according to the analysis. The results of this study suggest that it is necessary to strengthen the elements of enjoyment in order to improve the intention of the disabled to use artificial intelligence speakers, and it is meaningful in that it provides basic data to develop artificial intelligence products and customized services for people with disabilities.

The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for improving the adaptability of college life by examining the effects of individuality and relationship of university freshmen on college life adaptation. The study subjects were 383 freshmen enrolled in a university in Chungbuk C City, and a multiple regression analysis was conducted to examine the factors of impact. The first study found that boys were more individual in genders, depending on the general characteristics. Extroverted students were more relational. In the majors, students in the humanities and social sciences were more related, and students in the natural engineering department were more individual. Second, the lower factors affecting college students' adaptation to college life were found to be autonomous in individuality, and affinity and intimacy in relation. In particular, autonomy has the greatest impact on adaptation to college life, followed by affinity and intimacy. Based on these results, policy suggestions are needed first, it is necessary to balance and balance individuality and relationship. second, it is necessary to create activities and learning environments that you can choose for yourself. third, it is necessary to develop programs to promote affinity and intimacy such as department events and club activities. fourth, emotional and psychological program support through face-to-face contact should be activated to improve individuality and relationship.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to develop an emotional self-regulation program for obese children and to examine the program's effectiveness on depression, eating habits, and body mass index. Methods: The emotional self-regulation program was developed from theory-based strategies and a pre-post pilot study was conducted with 46 children (19: intervention, 27: control). The program included 6 weekly group sessions over 2 months. The embedded experimental model of concurrent mixed methods was used to better understand research outcomes by converging both quantitative and qualitative data. Anthropometric measurements and surveys were performed before and after the intervention. Three focus group interviews were conducted with all participants after intervention to explore their experiences. Results: The intervention group displayed decreased depression levels in the quantitative outcomes. The participants also expressed positive outcomes such as improvements in confidence, impulse management, intimacy, happiness, and losing weight. Conclusion: These findings suggest that emotional self-regulation skills are crucial factors for obese children not only to manage their emotional problems but also to control their weight. Further research is needed with a larger sample size and randomized controlled trials.
This study was to examine how Art Therapy affected improving Self-Esteem and Ego-Resiliency, Emotional Stability of Sexual Victimized Adolescent. The subject was the middle school student girl, 3th grades(15year old). She was suffered from sexual assault she was lack of self-confidence and suffered difficulty in daily life. Individual Art Therapy was performed once a week for 60 minutes and for 20 periods. Emotional Stability, Self-Resilience, Self-Esteem were performed pre-post test to verify the effectiveness of the program. The results obtained after Art Therapy were as follows. Firstly, The Self-Esteem score improved to post- 35 points from pre-16points. The Ego-Resiliency score improved to post-133points from pre- 63 points. The Emotional Stability score changed to a post-ex-post 96 score with a score of 110 as a positive effect. Secondly, the subject in the whole process of Art Therapy were formed intimacy with the researchers, able to heal painful scars while expressing inner feelings in a stable psychological state. Through the creative activities, she became confident and had positive thoughts about his future. Even though, this program focused to prevent PTSD. So the subjects needs to participate follow up program to treat depression, anxiety, nerveless be caused by sexual assault.
Emotional associations formed in the relationships between the consumer and luxury brands can be approached via examining the roles these associations play when they account for the brand equity of the luxury brands. The present study is an exploratory examination on the effects a battery of emotional relationships exert upon the consumers' intention to participate in promotional activities and in communities built around the brand, which is a crucial part of the luxury brand's equity, in regards to Korea's burgeoning import auto market. Participants who completed the survey are professionals such as medical doctors, lawyers, accountants, and university professors. Included in the analyses are the top six automobile brands in sales(i.e., BMW, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Audi, and Volkswagen), and the scores that the respondents provided regarding the way they relate themselves to particular foreign car brands are analyzed and yield six different groups of emotional associations(i.e., affection, identification, indispensability, reliability, intimacy, and awe). The brand equity is measured with three variables that show the levels of the consumer's participatory intentions toward each brand are analyzed in order to elicit the antecedent variables and their impact on the participation variables in the regression models. When the respondents are divided into two groups by the levels of brand knowledge(i.e., scores drawn from the respondent's capability of correctly linking specific automobile brands with the corresponding corporate brands), consumers with higher brand knowledge show distinct patterns of influential variables, as they differentiate themselves from less knowledgeable consumers in terms of the influential antecedent variables accounting for the consumer's intended participation.
The theoretical scope of the public sphere has been dramatically expanded as a result of new academic inquiries into the nature of the political and the public in contemporary societies. While appreciating the value of the concept of the public sphere for understanding democratic roles of the media, scholars began to raise questions on Habermasians' exclusive focus on news and public affairs programs, arguing that various entertainment programs also can invoke political deliberation. Terms like affective public sphere, emotional public sphere, aesthetic public sphere, expressive public sphere were used to capture this new conception. To comprehend the theoretical and practical implications of the conceptual expansion of the public sphere for media studies, this study attempted to provide a typology of media-public sphere relationships. By using public-private and rational-emotional axes as two criteria for classification, we created four prototypes of the public sphere (i.e., political public sphere, populism, difference pluralism, and intimacy/privacy) and discussed the characteristics of each type. After setting out media communication as a form of meta-public sphere that mediates and coordinates the four different types of the public sphere, we presented public service broadcasting as an exemplar meta-public sphere in the contemporary society of multiple social antagonisms and differences.
