The purpose of this study was to review the research trends in school environmental education. We analyzed 383 research papers that specifically focused on the school context which were 66% of the total number (N=577) published in this journal between 1990~2011. We defined the characteristics of review and developed a review method by examining previous review studies in this area. The review framework for school environmental education research was devised in terms of seven research areas: 1) Theories and objectives of school environmental education, 2) Environmental awareness, attitude and behavior, 3) Current issues in environmental education in the school context, 4) Instructions and programs, 5) National Curriculum, 6) Environmental education contents, and 7) Teacher professionalism. In this paper, we present dominant features within each category with focus on the overall trends of research methods and themes. Finally, we discuss research issues emerging out of the empirical analysis for considering the value of research for enhancing the quality of environmental education in schools.

Perhaps, one of the typical emerging markets drawing tremendous attention from not only business professionals but also policy-makers would be the mobile Internet services. In recent years many research institutes reported their predictions on the growth of the mobile Internet services market, announcing that the market would show explosive growth and replace the wired Internet service market rapidly. Unfortunately, however, the reality we are facing at present is quite different from their expectations. The realized share of the mobile services in Korea last year has turned out remaining only about one percent of the total network service revenue. What are the reasons for the gap between the prospects and the reality? Starting from this question, this paper attempts to explore the generic pitfalls of the traditional number-crunching methods adopted thus far for the forecast of newly emerging market trends, and present an alternative by introducing systems thinking to the mobile Internet service market as an example, followed by its rationale as a new tool for forecasting and some reasoning about why traditional methods are no longer appropriate.

본 연구는 최근 펜데믹 위기에서 교육의 변화하는 모습을 점검하고 미래의 학습에 대한 모습들을 예측하기 위해 이러닝과 학습분석에 대한 신흥기술의 동향을 살펴보고자 한다. 연구방법으로 신흥기술의 '하이프 사이클'과 '이러닝 예측 하이프 커버'를 기반으로 하여 각 단계별 기술들을 점검하고 펜데믹 위기에서 더 공고히 된 이러닝과 학습 관련 기술들이 무엇인지 살펴본다. 또한 하이프 사이클의 5단계인 기술촉발 단계, 부풀려진 기대의 정점 단계, 환멸 단계, 계몽 단계, 생산성 안정 단계인 각 단계별 학습과 관련된 기술들은 어떤 것이 있으며, 그 기술들이 이러닝과 학습분석에 어떠한 영향을 미칠 것인지 예측해 본다. 향후 연구로는 본 연구를 기반으로 인공지능이 이러닝과 학습분석에서의 역할을 알아보고자 한다.

Technological innovation generates products, services, and processes that can disrupt existing industries and lead to the emergence of new fields. Distributed ledger technology, or blockchain, offers novel transparency, security, and anonymity characteristics in transaction data that may disrupt existing industries. However, research attention has largely examined its application to finance. Less is known of any broader applications, particularly in Industry 4.0. This study investigates academic research publications on blockchain and predicts emerging industries using academia-industry dynamics. This study adopts latent Dirichlet allocation and dynamic topic models to analyze large text data with a high capacity for dimensionality reduction. Prior studies confirm that research contributes to technological innovation through spillover, including products, processes, and services. This study predicts emerging industries that will likely incorporate blockchain technology using insights from the knowledge structure of publications.

Artificial intelligence, which is based on deep learning, is emerging as a fundamental technology that will bring about future social changes. Artificial intelligence technology in IT is an essential intelligent system, and will overcome the performance limit of computing systems, and is expected to be the foundation for the development of computing environment destructively. The development of artificial intelligence technology in developed countries is a direction toward convergence with brain science. In this article, we will look at the prospect of artificial intelligence as the manifestation of imagination, as well as the technology and policy trends of artificial intelligence both at home and abroad, and discuss the direction of future technology development in terms of fusion with brain science.

Drones are now widely used in civilian applications such as filming, leisure, agricultural control, monitoring, and the generation of 3D-spatial information, deviating only from military drones. In the field of logistics, prototypes are emerging in the area of logistics transportation, and to develop a future transportation service under the name of a drone tax, each country is introducing its first flight results using its own unique drones. In this paper, we review the domestic and overseas trends of drone delivery service technology, which requires various capabilities such as automatic flight, and review the related core technologies. We then propose the flight capability and road map of a drone delivery service according to the detailed conditions such as the flight area, visibility, and flight method. Additionally, in connection with the postal processing of the Korea Post Office, which would be a main demand for this type of service, we describe a method for realizing a drone delivery service based on the structure, scenario, and deployment of the drone delivery system.

This study investigated concentrations of the several air pollutants and compared antioxidative enzyme activities on Platanus occidentalis because this tree species is one of the widespread street trees in Korea. This species has been emerging the ambient air pollutants during its growing periods. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between air pollution on the tree species and antioxidant enzyme activities on the trees. $O_3$, $NO_2$, CO and $SO_2$ concentrations of several cities in Korea were compared for last decades. Among the air pollutants, $O_3$ and $NO_2$ concentrations in six big cities in Korea showed similar increasing trends during this period. In contrast, $SO_2$ and CO concentrations in the same cities dramatically decreased between 1994 and 2005. Platanus occidentalis trees were controlled to investigate, ascorbate peroxidase (APX) and glutathione reductase (GR) activity. Ozone exposure generally increased APX and GR activities of tree seedlings. It is a typical compensatory strategy of stressed trees.

This article introduces recent trends in RHC (Receding Horizon Control), also known as MPC (Model Predictive Control), that has been well recognized in industry and academy as a systematic approach for optimal design and constraint management. Constrained and robust RHCs will be briefly reviewed with milestone results. Among the diverse developments and achievements of RHCs, implementation issues will be focused on, together with the latest applications. In particular, this article introduces results on how to solve a finite horizon open-loop optimal control problem in an efficient way, together with code generation for real-time execution and easy implementation. Instead of traditional applications such as refineries and petrochemical plants, this article highlights some selected emerging applications, such as energy management systems and mechatronics, that have resulted from state-of-the-art high performance computing power and advanced numerical schemes.

Immersive media, which maximizes the viewer's sense of presence and immersion, has been developed in the form of 3D stereoscopic media and UHD media. Going one step further, VR media, which can provide immersive experiences within an artificially created environment, have recently been considered a type of next-generation media. Within this trend, numerous IT and broadcasting companies around the world are actively investing their time and resources to boost the emerging VR industry. In this paper, we introduce the representative VR media acquisition and broadcasting service technologies that are leading the current VR industry.
