  • A PID controller integrated with a velocity feedback is designed for fluid power elevator model system in this study. In this case, for outside disturbance load a hydraulic cylinder and a pressure control valve are used. In this method overshoot is reduced and settling time becomes also shorter than the values achieved from the PID controller system only In conclusion a PID controller integrated with a velocity feedback is considered a suitable control method for fluid power elevator system.

  • In this study, a predictive fuzzy control algorithm to supervise the elevator system with plural cars is developed and its performance is evaluated. The proposed algorithm is based on fuzzy in-ference system to cope with multiple control objects and uncertainty of system state. The control objects are represented as linguistic predictive fuzzy rules and simplified reasoning method is utilized as a fuzzy inference method. Real-time simulation is performed with respect o all possible modes of control, and the resultant controls ard predicted. The predicted rusults are then utilized as the control in-puts of the fuzzy rules. The feasibility of the proposed control algorithm is evaluated by graphic simulator on computer. Finallu, the results of graphic simulation is compared with those of a conventional group control algorighm.

  • Self-diagnosis, regular examination, completion examination and precise safety examination on an elevator offer primary sources for evaluating performance and stability of the elevator. as critical examination for operating the elevator. The items on vibration of an elevator in the self-diagnosis and safety examination are not especially specified but vibration itself is considered as essential element to provide diverse analysis data. There is the equipment "EVA-625" for measuring vibration of an elevator. It is operated by reading data via computer and analyzing data by skilled engineer. This study aims to design and realize software to analyze data collected through the LabVIEW, a graphic program language and hardware for receiving data measuring vibration of an elevator by using 3-Axis acceleration sensor.

  • The information of the IT convergence has extended through the whole business ares with supplying intelligence terminal such as smart phone and the technology of sensors and wireless networks. And also, the existed industry became to high technology and extended various parts. The industry of the elevator became the center of the life offering the diversification of the user environment access and high building control. In this paper, we suggest the elevator control system integrated wire and wireless based on Information technology. We suggest the service model of user friendly connected by internet. For this, we make the relation model of the elevator system and IT environments and then design the service model for wire service and wireless service using smart phone. It can make to supply efficient information with wire and wireless environments and also make improvement in accessability for the disabled peoples.

  • The implementation of the compact gearless elevator system with Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor is presented. For the purpose of the voltage suppression in the motor input side, the LRC filter is used. The automatic encoder alignment algorithm with rotor pole position is developed, and it is available in the full range of the load. The implemented system makes 11% energy savings comparing the system with the induction motor.

Passenger's Electrocardiogram Change due to Color Temperature in Case of Elevator Jam (승강기 갇힘 사고 시 색 온도에 의한 이용자의 심전도 변화)

  • This study aims to suggest the most stable color temperature that can relieve the anxiety of passengers in case of an elevator trapped accident. The experiment was conducted on 10 adult men in their 20s. The color temperature of the interior lighting of the elevator was adjusted to four stages (3,000 K; 6,000 K; 9,000 K; and 12,000 K). Electrocardiogram (ECG) was measured and analyzed to observe the reaction of the user's autonomic nervous system decline in 3,000 K; 6,000 K; 9,000 K compared with 12,000 K, where a statistically significant difference was recognized (p < 0.01). Among them, the activity of the sympathetic nervous system was the lowest under the condition of 3,000 K. Through this study, it was found that the color temperature of 3,000 K induced a sense of stability among passengers in the event of an elevator jam. If the results of this study are used, it seems that the stability of passengers will be secured in the event of an elevator jam.

  • In the U.S., the pressurization of elevator shaft was developed in 1972 to allow vulnerable people, such as the elderly and weak who could not use escape stairs in case of fire, to evacuate. It is an advantage in terms of space saving by not using vertical ducts. This study drew the problem of the pressurization of elevator shaft based on the existing domestic patents and proposed improvements. The smoke control volume calculation method is proposed by using vertical modeling. Leakage gaps in elevator doors need to be reviewed through experimental data or actual data. The evacuation floor was divided, the openings in the elevator machine room were automatically closed to the fire signal and the relief damper was installed to improve the performance. The improved method functions as the smoke control damper supplying the air flow rather than maintaining the differential pressure. To increase reliability of the research results, the procedure was performed to verify by using Contam.

  • An elevator group supervisory control logic is investigated to supervise multiple elevators, ensuring their efficient operations. In this paper, a predictive fuzzy control logic of group elevator system is developed for coping with multiple control objects and uncertainty of system state. Simulation of this control logic shows considerable improvements of system performance by the reduction of average waiting time and long wait rate.

  • In this study a MRAC(model reference adaptive control) for fluid power elevator model system was designed. The MRAC was compared with PI control in case of applying to the elevator model system with constant external load and changing external load. In this case external load was produced by a single fluid power cylinder combined with pressure control valve. In conclusion the MRAC control performance was better than PI control performance because overshoot and steady state error of the elevator model system controlled by the MRAC were not appeared for constant and changing external load.

  • This paper addresses an elevator position control scheme in unified control system. Conventional systems have employed independent micro-processors for speed, car, and group control respectively and the car controller generates a velocity command by combining the time-based and distance-based velocity pattern. In this scheme, it is inevitable that an elevator creeps in the vicinity of target floor, or stops abruptly. The proposed control system employs only one high-performance micro-processor, which can execute the car and group control as well as the speed control. It simply generates the desired position trajectory based on time and on-line corrects a velocity pattern to make the position error be zero. Experimental results show the feasibility of the proposed control scheme.
