  • Currently development of the Artificial Intelligence technology is rapidly progressing in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The government is trying to improve the education of Artificial Intelligence and cultivating human resources. However there are very few cases where A.I technology is actually used in public education classes. Therefore we designed a text repository by implementing A.I speech recognition to provide career counseling for elementary school students. In the meantime, there have been many difficulties in giving advance consultations required for students' career counseling. In this study we suggested A.I speech recognition technology which can solve addressed problem and we planned various ways to make the program more educational. To conclude we expect A.I technology implemented in this study provides effective solution to career counseling.

Specific Study is as in the following. First, in the aspect of home economics, this study explored the meaning of connection between elementary-secondary courses, and in the process of curriculum development, we explored implicit problems through strategies that come out from elementary-secondary courses. Second, we search what the key competence is in terms of home economics, and the meaning of developing curriculum based on the key competence. For this, we examine the meaning of development of subject matters curriculum based on key competence and the conditions and tasks for developing curriculum for home economics based on key competence. Third, on the basis of discussion we explore the way to realize these two issues, already mentioned, into development of subsequent curriculum for home economics. For this, this study examines the academic interaction between home economics of elementary and secondary courses unifying the names of the subject, systematic understanding about development of curriculum based on key competence, finding strategies for appealing the subject, and practical instances. Through this study, we expect more active interaction between home economics from elementary and secondary courses and academic discussion for development of curriculum.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate preservice elementary school teachers' views on the relationship between science/technology and society. Freshmen (n=93) and seniors (n=82) at three universities of education were asked to express their views with 8 items in the Views On Science-Technology-Society, which consisted of two subcategories; 'influence of science/technology on society' (4 items) and 'influence of society on science/technology' (4 items). Mann-Whitney U test revealed that the scores of the freshmen were higher than those of the seniors. This trend was notable particularly in the item concerning 'influence of corporations on science/technology' and 'influence of interest groups on science/technology'. In comparing the scores by gender, a significant difference was found in the item concerning 'influence of policy on science/technology' for the freshmen.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze objectively the current state of preparation of SW education in Korea based on the survey of educational technology of elementary and secondary school which is investigated periodically every year. For this purpose, we extracted indicators related to SW education from educational technology level indicators such as human, material, and utilization and analyzed the change in the level of domestic educational technology level from 2014 to 2016. The main results of this study are as follows. Firstly, the ratio of teachers who have informatics teacher certificates among middle school informatics teacher is continuously decreasing from 2014(71%) to 2016(54%), and the number of information and the number of informatics teachers moving from informatics subject to other subjects is steadily increasing. On the other hand, there is a paradoxical situation in which the total number of teachers in informatics subject is continuously increasing for three years. Secondly, the total amount of ICT related budgets for elementary and secondary schools has been steadily decreasing since 2014. Thirdly, The ratio of informatics(computer) related creative activities in elementary schools dropped to 87.7% in 2015 and 84.6% in 2016. Also, the ratio of informatics subject operating school in middle school is gradually decreasing from 34.8% in 2014, 30.8% in 2015, and 28.2% in 2016. Based on the results of this analysis, this study suggested a method for stable settlement of SW education in elementary and secondary public education field.

The number of classes has decreased, and some schools are closed or incorporated due to decrease of the population. Such phenomenon has brought changes to learning using digital technology and space. A change called digital innovation is characterized by interactive communication centering on the internet network. Therefore, it is very important to predict educational environment to be changed according to digital environment and to note how real learning space is changed. The development of digital technology in society in general presents two concepts of digital and contents, digitalized information. Such technology is recognized as a new paradigm in education sector and a new space is created through participation of instructors and learners in learning space. This study analysed cases of learning space of elementary schools based on bibliographical examination and related bibliography including data from academic presentations and news release to present developed leaning space. To present healthy and creative learning environment which can lead knowledge and information-based society in the future, the preface described the background, purpose, methods and range of the study, and analysed transitional processes of society and culture, digital learning contents, and learning space in education of elementary schools. First, we evaluate physical accessibility based on legally defined commuting distance. Second, the implication of village population of potential accessibility is analyzed. Lastly, the facility centrality index of each village is estimated for assessing the relations of educational accessibility. The main results of this study are as follows; (1) The accessibility of most villages in Pyeongchang-gun is vulnerable that 81.10% for elementary school, 73.17% for middle school, and 82.32% for high school, respectively; (2) The average commuting distance per student considering estimated number of students for each educational facilities indicated 2.75km for elementary school, 4.37km for middle school, and 5.79km for high school; (3) the facility centrality index is highly correlated to educational facilities but not to village population.

  • In this study, we analyzed the proportions of STS content, components, topics, and types of the activities of STS content in the elementary science textbooks developed under the 2007 Revised National Curriculum. The analyses of the results revealed that the percentage of STS content included was 15.9% by the number of pages, and 13.5% by the lesson hour. By the components of the STS content, the proportion of 'application of science', 'science-technology and our life' and 'social problems and issues' were large. Most STS topics were related to the 'effects of technological developments' and 'environmental issue', and the topics of 'family and population' and 'human engineering' were few. By the types of the activities, reading was the most, and investigation and writing were also found. Compared with those of the science textbooks developed under the 7th National Curriculum, the variety of components of the STS content increased, but the proportion of STS content and the variety of activities of STS content decreased in the science textbooks developed under the 2007 Revised National Curriculum.
