  • We investigated field-effect ion-transport devices based on carbon nanotubes by using classical molecular dynamics simulations under applied external force fields, and we present model schematics that car be applied to the nanoscale data storage devices and unipolar ionic field-effect transistors. As the applied external force field is increased, potassium ions rapidly flow through the nanochannel. Under low external force fields, ther nal fluctuations of the nanochannels affect tunneling of the potassium ions whereas the effects of thermal fluctuations are negligible under high external force fields. Since the electric current conductivity increases when potassium ions are inserted into fullerenes or carbon nanotubes, the field effect due to the gate, which can modify the position of the potassium ions, changes the tunneling current between the drain and the source.

  • In this paper, we propose a driving circuit that can be operated with a lower voltage than that of the conventional circuit without reducing the discharge voltage. the circuit proposed in this paper has a merit to improve the electrical characteristics because it can be composed of switching devices with low voltage. The operation and efficiency using real devices. The features of the circuit proposed in this paper are as follows; the power loss can be decreased by the use of low voltage, the cost if the driving circuit for PDP can be reduced by the use of switching devices operated with low voltage.

  • The materials for an electronic packaging provide diverse important functions including electrical contact to transfer signals from devices, isolation to protect from the environment and a path for heat conduction away from the devices. The packaging materials composed of metals, ceramics, polymers or combinations are crucial to the device operating properly and reliably. The demand of effective charge and heat transfer continuous to be challenge for the high-speed and high-power devices. Nanomaterials including graphene, carbon nanotube and boron nitride, have been designed for the purpose of exploiting the high thermal, electrical and mechanical properties by combining in the matrix of metal or polymer. In addition, considering the inherent electrical and surface properties of graphene, it is expected that graphene would be a good candidate for the surface layer of a template in the electroforming process. In this talk, I will present recent our on-going works in nanomaterials for microelectronic packaging: 1) porous graphene/Cu for heat dissipations, 2) carbon-metal composites for interconnects and 3) nanomaterials-epoxy composites as a thermal interface materials for electronic packaging.

  • The optical memory devices of BST thin films to composite $(Ba_{0.7}\;Sr_{0.3})TiO_{3}$ using sol-gel method were fabricated by changing of the depositing layer number on $Pt/Ti/SiO_{2}/Si$ substrate. The structural properties of optical memory devices to be ferroelectric was investigated by fractal analysis and 3-dimension image processing. The thickness of BST thin films at each coating numbers 3, 4 and 5 times was $2500[\AA]$, $3500[\AA]$ and $3800[\AA]$. BST thin films exhibited the most pronounced grain growth. The surface morphology image was roughness with coating numbers. The thin films increasing with coating numbers shows a more textured and complex configuration.

  • We fabricated organic electroluminescent(EL) devices with mixed emitting layer of poly(N-vinylcarbazole)(PVK), 2,5-bis(5'-tert-butyl-2-benzoxazoly)thiophene(BBOT), N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-(3-methyphenyl)-1,1'-biphenyl-4, 4'-diarnine(TPD) and poly(3-hexylthiophene)(P3HT). To improve the external quantum efficiency of EL devices, we added the functional layer to the devices such as LiF insulating layer, carrier confinement layer(BBOT) and hole injection layer(CuPc). In the ITO/emitting layer/Al device, the maximum quantum efficiency at 15V was $1.88{\times}10^{-5}%$. And then, it is increased by a factor of 27 to $5.2{\times}10^{-3}%$ in ITO/CuPc/emitting layer/BBOT/LiF/Al device at 15V.

  • In this paper, carbon and silver electrode properties of power electroluminescent device were investigated. Devices were manufactured by screen-printing and manufactured devices were measured following things with variable applied voltage; emission spectra, transferred charge density, brightness and current. A continuous test at $65 ^{\circ}C$ of temperature and 95% of humidity was operated. The brightness of devices which were made of silver and carbon electrode at 100V was $67.03cd/m^2$ and $60.02cd/m^2$ respectively. In case of device, which was made of silver electrode, a black spot was formed after 72 hours and degraded but carbon electrode was stable.

  • In this study, we carried out transient radiation test for identify failure situation by a transient radiation effect on operational amplifier devices. This experiments were carried out using a 60 MeV electron beam pulse of the LINAC(Linear Accelerator) facility in the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory. In this test, we has found that a serious failure as a burn-out effect due to overcurrent on the partial electronic devices.

  • In this study, thickness vibration mode piezoelectric devices for AE sensor application were simulated using ATILA FEM program, and then fabricated. Trajectory resonant displacement and electro mechanical coupling factors of the piezoelectric devices were investigated. The simulation results showed that excellent displacement and electro mechanical coupling factor was obtained when the ratio of diameter/thickness($\Phi/T$) was 0.75. The piezoelectric device of $\Phi/T$=0.75 exhibited the optimum values of fr= 183 kHz, displacement= $4.44{\times}10^{-7}[m]$, $k_{33}$= 0.69, which were suitable for the application of AE sensor piezoelectric device.
