조향벡터 에러에 강인한 효과적인 Capon 빔 형성기법 (Effective Capon Beamforming Robust to Steering Vector Errors)

  • 조향벡터(steering vector)에 에러가 있으면 적응 어레이(adaptive array)는 심한 성능저하를 겪게 된다. 이러한 에러로 인한 성능저하를 개선하기위해 DCRCB(doubly constrained robust Capon beamformer)에서는 벡터 norm 제한아래 구체 불확실 집합(spherical uncertainty set) 내의 벡터 중 출력전력을 최대로 하는 벡터를 조향벡터(steering vector)로 사용한다. 좋은 성능 개선을 위해서 불확실 집합의 반경, 즉 불확실 한계를 적절히 설정해야 하는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 이를 해결하기 위해 반복탐색을 통해 조향벡터를 구하는 방식을 제안한다. 기존의 알려진 반복탐색 방식에서는 반복 종료를 위해 어떤 기준값을 결정해야 하는데, 이에 따른 어려움이 있다. 제안방식에서는 추정된 벡터와 신호부공간 거리가 더 이상 작아 지지 않으면 반복을 종료하며, 값 설정과 관련된 어떤 어려움도 없다. 시뮬레이션 결과에 따르면, 제안방식은 기존반복방식 그리고 최적의 불확실 한계로 설정된 표준 DCRCB 보다도 우수한 성능을 보여준다.

  • In this paper, we analize the effect of a steering water used in a unified phase I-phase II semi-infinite constrained optimization algorithm and present a new algorithm based on the facts that when the point x is far away from the feasible region where all the constraints are satisfied, reaching to the feasible region is more important than minimizing the cost function and that when the point x is near the region, it is more efficient to try to reach the feasible region and to minimize the cost function concurrently. Also, the angle between the search direction vector and the gradient of the cost function is considered when the steering parameter value is computed. Even though changing the steering parameter does not change the rate of convergence of the algorithm, we show through some examples that the proposed algorithm performs better than the other algorithms.

Comparisons of Linear Characteristic for Shape of Stator Teeth of Hall Effect Torque Sensor

  • Electric Power Steering (EPS) system is superior to conventional Hydraulic Power Steering (HPS) system in aspect of fuel economy and environmental concerns. The EPS system consists of torque sensor, electric motor, ECU (Electric Control Unit), gears and etc. Among the elements, the torque sensor is one of the core technologies of which output signal is used for main input of EPS controller. Usually, the torque sensor has used torsion bar to transform torsion angle into torque and needs linear characteristic in terms of flux variation with respect to rotation angle of permanent magnet. The torsion angle of both ends of a torsion bar is measured by a contact variable resistor. In this paper, the sensor is accurately analyzed using 3D finite element method and its characteristics with respect to four different shapes of the stator teeth are compared. The four shapes are rectangular, triangular, trapezoidal and circular type.

전기자동차용 조향장치 제어 ECU 구조의 열해석에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Thermal Analysis of Steering Control ECU Structure for Electric Vehicles)

  • The technical development of electric vehicles has been actively proceeding because of the reduction of oil resources and need for eco-friendly vehicle technology. In particular, an electronic control unit is an important element in the technology of electric vehicles due to the motor drive system. This paper concerns an experimental study on the thermal analysis of the steering control ECU structure for an electric vehicle. The ECU unit is designed for eight heat sinks for the thermal analysis of the ECU structure. The thermal analysis characteristics of the ECU structure are evaluated by the temperature distribution, heat flow, von Mises stress, total translation, and external surface temperature measurement of the ECU unit.

  • In this research the Co-simulation technique for an electric power steering system with MATLAB/SIMULINK and a full vehicle model with ADAMS has been developed. The dynamic responses of vehicle chassis and steering system are evaluated. Then, a full vehicle model interacted with EPS control is concurrently simulated with an impulsive steering wheel torque input to analyze the stability of 'free control' or hands free motion for Sports Utility Vehicle. This integrated method allows engineers to reduce the prototype testing cost and to shorten the developing period.

A 10-bit Current-steering DAC in 0.35-μm CMOS Process

  • A simulation study of a 10-bit two-stage DAC was done by using a conventional current switch cell. The DAC adopts the segmented architecture in order to reduce the circuit complexity and the die area. The 10-bit CMOS DAC was designed in 2 blocks, a unary cell matrix for 6 MSBs and a binary weighted array for 4 LSBs, for fabrication in a 0.35-${\mu}m$ CMOS process. To cancel the accumulation of errors in each current cell, a symmetrical switching sequence is applied in the unary cell matrix for 6 MSBs. To ensure high-speed operation, a decoding circuit with one stage latch and a cascode current source were developed. Simulations show that the maximum power consumption of the 10-bit DAC is 74 mW with a sampling frequency of 100 MHz.

  • This paper propose an advanced control strategy to improve vehicle handling and directional stability by integrating Active Front Steering(AFS) with Electronic Stability Program(ESP) . The effect of the integrated control system on the vehicle handling characteristics and directional stability is studied through a close loop computer simulation of and eight degree of freedom nonlinear vehicle model and driver model. Simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed control system and the overall improvements in vehicle handling and directional stability

  • This paper presents unified chassis control (UCC) to improve the vehicle lateral stability. The unified chassis control implies combined control of active front steering (AFS), electronic stability control (ESC) and continuous damping control (CDC). A direct yaw moment controller based on a 2-D bicycle model is designed by using sliding mode control law. A direct roll moment controller based on a 2-D roll model is designed. The computed direct yaw moment and the direct roll moment are generated by AFS, ESP and CDC control modules respectively. A control authority of the AFS and the ESC is determined by tire slip angle. Computer simulation is conducted to evaluate the proposed integrated chassis controller by using the Matlab, simulink and the validated vehicle simulator. From the simulation results, it is shown that the proposed unified chassis control can provide with improved performance over the modular chassis control.

중형 상용차량 ESC 평가를 위한 Sine with Dwell Test 제안 (Proposal for Using Sine with Dwell for the Evaluation of ESC for Medium Commercial Vehicles)

  • A sine with dwell test is well known as a test scenario for evaluation of performance of electronic stability control(ESC) on passenger vehicles and heavy commercial vehicles. However, when it comes to ESC for medium commercial vehicles, the test scenario has not been established yet. In this paper, the sine with dwell test was modified considering characteristics of medium commercial vehicles. The three main modifications of the original test scenario are the steering angle level, steering frequency, and loading condition of the vehicle. These modifications are derived from simulation study for different medium commercial vehicles. From simulation study, it was shown that the ESC system for medium commercial vehicle is objectively evaluated by the proposed test scenario. A clear improvement on vehicle stability was seen in the results when ESC system was used.

다중 스택 빔 형성을 이용한 고 지향성의 다중 목표물 고각 추정에 대한 연구 (A Study on Multi Target Elevation Angle Estimation of Hight Directivity using Multi Stacked Beam Forming)

  • 본 논문에서는 다중 빔 형성기법을 이용하여 다중 목표물들의 고각을 추정하는 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법은 배열 소자로 수신되는 신호들을 디지털로 처리해 수신 빔을 스택 빔으로 만들고, 빔 형성기에서는 안테나 소자에 가중치를 적용함으로서 원하는 수신 빔을 생성 할 수 있다. 이때 스택 빔을 구현하기 위해서는 여러 개의 값비싼 위상천이기 필요하지만, 현재는 컴퓨터의 성능이 많이 향상되어 위상변위기 대신에 고속 푸리에 변환을 이용하여 다중스택 빔을 형성한다. 또한 수신기에서 원하는 방향으로 빔을 조향하기 위해서 빔 조향 오차 보정 기법을 적용하여 다중 빔의 지향성을 향상 시킨다. 본 논문에서는 시뮬레이션을 통하여 고속 후리어 변환과 빔 조향오차 보정 기법에 근거를 둔 제안된 고각 추정방법이 기존의 방법에 비해 목표물 추정 면에서 우수함을 보인다.
