식품유해세균에 대한 식초의 항균효과 (Antimicrobial Effects of Vinegar on the Harmful Food-Born Organisms)

  • 본 연구에서는 시판되고 있는 식초를 이용하여 6종의 식품 유해세근에 대한 항균력을 비교하였다. 그 결과, 감식초와 현미식초는 합성식초에 비해 S. aureu, M. luteus, S. enteritidius 및 E. coli에서 항균 활성이 높게 나타났으며, 현미식초가 감식초에 비해 식품유해세균에 대한 항균활성이 비교적 더 높게 나타났다. 현미식초의 농도에 따른 항균활성을 조사한 결과 5종의 그람양성 세균 및 음성 세균 모두 10$\mu$L/mL 이상의 농도에서 생육이 거의 억제되었으나, V. purahaermolyticus는 15$\mu$L/mL 농도에서 생육이 거의 정지되어, 현미식초는 식품 부패균과 대장균 생육억제에 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 식초처리에 의한 미생물의 형태 변화를 전자 현미경으로 관찰한 결과 S. aureu, E coli 모두 세포가 팽윤되고 일부 세포벽이 완전히 파괴된 형태를 관찰할 수 있어 식초처리로 인해 세균의 생육이 억제되는 것을 알 수 있었다.

NH3 분위기에서 후속 열처리에 의한 p형 ZnO 형성 (Formation of N Doped, p-type ZnO Films by Post-annealing in NH3 Ambient)

  • We report the preparation of N doped, p-type ZnO films by post-annealing in $NH_3$ ambient. The properties were examined by XRD, Hall-effect measurement, PL, and SIMS. ZnO films showed better crystallinity and electron concentration of $10^{15}-10^{17}/cm^3$ with post-annealing in $NH_3$ ambient. These films were converted to p-type ZnO by activation thermal annealing process at $800^{\circ}C$ under $N_2$ ambient. The electrical properties of the p-type ZnO showed a hole concentration of $1.06\times10^{16}/cm^3$, a mobility of $15.8cm^2/V{\cdot}s$, and a resistivity of $40.18\Omega{\cdot}cm$. The N doped ZnO films showed a strong photoluminescence peak at 3.306 eV at 13 K, which is closely related to neutral acceptor bound excitons of the p-type ZnO:N. In the SIMS spectra, the incorporation of nitrogen was confirmed.

에탄올 생산성 향상을 위한 Alginate-Celite 고정화 방법의 개발 (Development of Alginate-Celite Immobilization Technique for the Improvement of Ethanol Productivity)

  • 에탄올 생산 효모균주인 Saccharomyces K35의 에탄올 생산을 위한 최적의 초기 pH는 5.0으로 나 타났으며, 기질로 200g/$\ell$ 의 glucose를 이 용했을때 약 80%의 수율을 나타내어 내당성도 좋은 것으로 나타났다. 첨가제와 가교제로서 Celite R-634 1.67 %(v/v) 와 glutaraldehyde 1.67% (v/v) 를 함께 첨가했을때(ACG bead) Ca-alginate bead에 비해 안정성, 에탄올 생산성 빛 세포생존률이 좋게 나타 났다. 또한 배지밖에서 자란 효모 농도도 감소하여 A A CG bead가 Ca-alginate bead보다 phosphate이 온에 더 안정한 것으로 보인다. SEM (Scanning E Electron Microscopy)을 통해 ACG gel bead의 구조를 관찰하였는데 , ACG bead가 Ca~alginate bead에 비해 훨씬 온전한 모습을 유지하며, 효모의 농도가 상당히 밀집되어 있음을 보여준다. 반복회분 식 배양을 시도했을때 Ca-alginate bead의 경우는 7회분(약 40일)까지는 에탄올 놓도와 효모농도가 각각 138g/$\ell$-gel와 29~30g/$\ell$-gel을 유지하다가 급격히 감소하는 경향을 보였으나, ACG bead의 경 우에는 130~150g/$\ell$-gel와 32~35g/$\ell$-gel의 수준을 유지하였으며, 세포생존률도 약 70% 이상을 유지하였다.

Field Emission Characteristics a-C:F:N Film Deposited by Inductively Coupled Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition

  • Amorphous fluorocarbon (a-C:F) is of interest for low dielectric interlayer material, but in this work we applied this material to FED field emitter. N-doped a-C:F films were deposited by inductively coupled plasma chemical vapor deposition (ICPCVD). The Raman spectra were measured to study the film structure and inter-band optical absorption coefficients were measured using Perkin-Elmer UV-VIS-IR spectrophotometer and optical band gap was obtained using Tauc's plot. XPS spectrum and AFM image were investigated to study bond structure and surface morphology. Current-electric field(I-E) characteristic of the film was measured for the characterization of electron emission properties. The optimum doping concentration was found to be [N2]/[CF4]=9% in the gas phase. The turn-on field and the emission current density at $[N_2]/[CF_4]$=9% were found to be 7.34V/$\mu\textrm{m}$ and 16 $\mu\textrm{A}/\textrm{cm}^2$ at 12.8V/$\mu\textrm{m}$, respectively.

Physicochemical Characteristics of Single Asian Dust Storm Particles

  • For the detailed characterization of atmospheric aerosol, the analysis of single particle is highly valuable. In this study, to investigate the characteristics of single Asian dust storm particles, scanning electron microscope(SEM) coupled with and energy dispersive X-ray microanalyzer(EDX) and micro-PIXE were applied. Sampling was performed at Kyoto University located in Kyoto, Japan, in spring of 1999. Mass concentration during Asian dust storm events was higher roughly 3∼5 times than measured in the season of the highest concentration. Single particles were generally sharp-edged and irregular in shape and contained mostly crustal elements. Significant amount of S in coarse fraction was detected in individual particles. A large particles in coarse fraction existed as the mixture of soil components and S. A good agreement between the result of SEM-EDX analysis and that iof micro-PIXE analysis was obtained in this study.

상온에서 증착된 IGZO 박막의 열처리 온도에 따른 특성 (Characteristics of IGZO Films Formed by Room Temperature with Thermal Annealing Temperature)

  • We investigated the structural, electrical and optical characteristics of IGZO thin films deposited by a room-temperature RF reactive magnetron sputtering. The thin films deposited were annealed for 2 hours at various temperatures of 300, 400, 500 and $600^{\circ}C$ and analyzed by using X-ray diffractometer, transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscope and Hall effects measurement system. The films annealed at $600^{\circ}C$ were found to be crystallized and their surface roughness was decreased from 0.73 nm to 0.67 nm. According to XPS measurements, concentration of oxygen vacancies were decreased at $600^{\circ}C$. Optical band gap were increased to 3.31eV. The carrier concentration and Hall mobility were sharply increased at 600oC. Our results indicate that the IGZO films deposited at a room temperature can show better thin film properties through a heat treatment.

Sterilization of Bacteria, Yeast, and Bacterial Endospores by Atmospheric-Pressure Cold Plasma using Helium and Oxygen

  • Atmospheric-pressure cold plasma (APCP) using helium/oxygen was developed and tested as a suitable sterilization method in a clinical environment. The sterilizing effect of this method is not due to UV light, which is known to be the major sterilization factor of APCP, but instead results from the action of reactive oxygen radicals. Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae deposited on a nitrocellulose filter membrane or Bacillus subtilis spores deposited on polypropylene plates were exposed to helium/oxygen plasma generated with AC input power at 10 kHz, 6 kV. After Plasma treatment, nitrocellulose filter membranes were overlaid on fresh solid media and CFUs were counted after incubation overnight. D-values were 18 sec for E. coli, 19 sec for S. aureus, 1 min 55 sec for S. cerevisiae, and 14 min for B. subtilis spores. D-values of bacteria and yeast were dependent on the initial inoculation concentration, while the D-value of B. subtilis spores showed no correlation. When treated cells were observed with a scanning electron microscope, E. coli was more heavily damaged than S. aureus, S. cevevisiae exhibited peeling, and B. subtilis spores exhibited shrunken morphology. Results showed that APCP using helium/oxygen has many advantages as a sterilization method, especially in a clinical environment with conditions such as stable temperature, unlimited sample size, and no harmful gas production.

Manufacture and Physicochemical Properties of Chitosan Oligosaccharide/A2 β-Casein Nano-Delivery System Entrapped with Resveratrol

  • The purposes of this research were to form chitosan oligosaccharide (CSO)/A2 ${\beta}$-casein nano-delivery systems (NDSs) and to investigate the effects of production variables, such as CSO concentration levels (0.1%, 0.2%, and 0.3%, w/v) and manufacturing temperature ($5^{\circ}C$, $20^{\circ}C$, and $35^{\circ}C$), on the production and physicochemical characteristics of CSO/A2 ${\beta}$-casein NDSs to carry resveratrol. The morphological characteristics of CSO/A2 ${\beta}$-casein NDSs were assessed by the use of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and particle size analyzer. High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was applied to determine the entrapment efficiency (EE) of resveratrol. In the TEM images, globular-shaped particles with a diameter from 126 to 266 nm were examined implying that NDSs was successfully formed. As CSO concentration level was increased, the size and zeta-potential values of NDSs were significantly (p<0.05) increased. An increase in manufacturing temperature from $5^{\circ}C$ to $35^{\circ}C$ resulted in a significant (p<0.05) increase in the size and polydispersity index of NDSs. Over 85% of resveratrol was favorably entrapped in CSO/A2 ${\beta}$-casein NDSs. The entrapment efficiency (EE) of resveratrol was significantly (p<0.05) enhanced with an increase in manufacturing temperature while CSO concentration level did not significantly affect EE of resveratrol. There were no significant (p<0.05) changes observed in the size and polydispersity index of NDSs during heat treatments and storage in model milk and yogurt indicating that CSO/A2 ${\beta}$-casein NDSs exhibited excellent physical stability. In conclusion, the CSO concentration level and manufacturing temperature were the crucial determinants affecting the physicochemical characteristics of CSO/A2 ${\beta}$-casein NDSs containing resveratrol.

HEMT의 2차원 수치해석 (Two Dimensional Numerical Analysis of HEMT's)

  • In this paper, a two-dimensional numerical analysis of HEMT's with gate length of 0.6um is performed. In this case, Control Volume Formulation method which has been used in the analysis of heat transfer and fluid flow is used as a numerical method. As a mobility model, empirical formula including the velocithy overshoot phenomena is used instead of two-piece mobility model. The results obtained from this numerical analysis(i.e., the region in which cahnnel is formed, the strength of electric field in the channel, the distribution of potential, and the distribution of electron concentration etc.)are in good agreement with the previous analytic results. And our results also show the parasitic MESFET's operation in the range of the high gate voltage.

Response of the Higher Basidiomycetic Ganoderma resinaceum to Sodium Chloride Stress

  • Ganoderma resinaceum tolerated sodium chloride salt stress within a range of 0 mM till 300 mM. It responded to salt stress with fluctuation in proline formation at different NaCl concentrations. However, the mycelial dry weight, total protein contents and exopolysaccharides did not changed considerably. Increasing sodium chloride concentration led to morphological alteration in fungal mycelia with disappearance of fungal cell wall, plasmolysis, and vacuolation as indicated with electron microscopic examination of the fungal growth.
