Influence of Stator Structure on Vibration of Switched Reluctance Motor

  • This paper deals with the influence of the various stator structures in a Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) on the vibration behaviors. The stator part in SRMs produces most vibrations. Therefore, the geometric design of the stator is necessary to reduce the vibration. The free and forced vibrations for four different stator yoke structures are analyzed by the electromagnetic and structural Finite Element Method (FEM). Then vibration stator structure that offers less is proposed. The modal analysis results of a tested motor are compared with measurements.

  • In this paper analysis of the characteristics in the three phase induction motor for the electric forklift truck is researched. There are two kinds of the Finite element analysis method. First thing is time domain analysis by the time transient method. Second thing is frequency domain analysis by method which assumes applied voltage and current sinusoidal. Especially in case of the characteristic studies, electromagnetic analysis is performed about each prototype motors. The obtained results are compared and the result of the test is examined. We could know characteristics of each prototypes and verify the design program of the motor through FEM. Finally this paper shows the factors of discord results of the analysis.

  • 최근 전자계-열계 해석 소프트웨어의 발전에 힘입어 전자계-열계 해석 이론을 바탕으로 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션에 의한 전기화재의 정확한 원인분석과 조사가 체계적으로 연구되고 있으나, 매우 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 비닐 평형 코드(600 V, VFF, $2C{\times}$1.25mm^2)을 모델로 하여 과전류시 전류크기에 따른 전선의 온도분포 및 이격거리에 따른 도체 상호간의 힘을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션(Flux2D)을 통하여 계산하며, 또한 직접 제작한 대전류 공급장치(형명 : EHT_EFAD, Korea)을 사용하여 과전류시 전류크기와 공급시간에 따른 도체 상호간의 이격거리에 대하여 실험함으로써 과전류로 인한 전기화재 원인분석 방법에 대하여 제안하고자 한다.

Electromagnetic Actuator with Novel Electric Brake for Circuit Breaker

  • At the stroke end of an electromagnetic circuit breaker, the high speed of the mover makes a huge impact at the contact point, which induces the rebound problem of the mover that causes a breaker failure. Thus, a speed reduction equipment is required to address such problems. This study suggests to use an electric brake reduces the speed at the end of the stroke. The proposed circuit breaker which adopts the electric brake has a variable speed reduction function such that the continued rebound phenomenon ceases to occur. The electric brake is designed by the Finite Element Method (FEM) and the circuit and motion equations are solved using Time Difference Method (TDM). The comparisons between the simulation and experiments demonstrated the usefulness and validity of this study.

  • This paper deals with comparison on Electromagnetic losses of slotted and slotless high-speed PM Machine for Micro Turbine. Losses are consist of core losses, copper losses and eddy current losses. We are using both analytical method and 2D Finite Element Method for more detailed losses analysis. And then We compare Electromagnetic losses of slotted and slotless PM synchronous machine. This machine has designed of a generator of 800W, 400000rpm and a starter of 400W, 200000rpm.

Design and Fabrication of Low Frequency Driven Energy Harvester Using Electromagnetic Conversion

  • This paper describes a low frequency driven electromagnetic energy harvester (EMEH) which consists of a thin flame resistant (FR-4) planar spring, NdFeB permanent magnets, and a copper coil. The FR-4 spring was fabricated using a desk computer numerical control (CNC) 3D modeling machine. Mathematical modeling and ANSYS finite element analysis (FEA) were used totheoretically investigate the mechanical properties of the spring mass system. The proposed EMEH generates a maximum power of 65.33 ${\mu}W$ at a resonance frequency of 8 Hz with an acceleration of 0.2 g (1 g = 9.8 $m/s^2$) and a superior normalized power density (NPD) of 77 ${\mu}W/cm^3{\cdot}g^2$.

  • The wrinkling in the electromagnetic tube compression with a mandrel is remarkably smaller than that of the process without it. To analyze this phenomenon, the critical forming parameters such as the ratio of the clearance to the shell radius, the ratio of the thickness to the shell radius, and the ratio of the applied pressure to the standard pressure are introduced tp consider the effect of the mandrel, in addition to those of the thickness of shell and applied loads. The amplification ratio is also used to observe the magnitude of amplification. The results obtained by 2-D finite element method show that the initial imperfection embedded in the radius of cylindrical shell is the dominant factor to determine the final shape of the tube compression, and that the amplification ratio tends to have smaller values with the smaller clearance ratio and also with the larger thickness and pressure ratios.

  • Electric machines such as motors which have moving parts are desgined for producing mechanical force or torque. The accurate calculation of electromagnetic force and torque is important in the design these machines, Electromagnetic force calculation method using the results of Finite Element Method(FEM) has been presented variously in 2-D problems. Typically the Maxwell's Stress Tensor method and the method of virtual work are used. In the problems including current source, magnetic vector potentials(MVP) have mostly been used as an unknown variables for field analysis by numerical method; e, g. FEM. This paper, thus, introduces both methods using MVP in 3-D case. To verify the usefulness of presented methods, a solenoid model is chosen and analyzed by 3-D and axisymmetrical FEM. In each case, the calculated force are tabulated for several mesh schemes.

  • The main design factors which effect on operating speed of linear actuator for valve operation are mass of plunger, electromagnetic motive force, inductance, and return spring, and these factors are not independent but related with each other in view point of design and electromagnetic theory. It is impossible to increase the operating speed by only change the value of any one design factor. The change of any one value results in change of any value related it in various design factors. This paper presents a speed increasing method of linear actuator using a solenoid design method by some governing equations which are composed of electromagnetic theory and empirical knowledge and permanent magnets as assistant material, and proved the propriety by experiments.

  • Ring-shaped electrodeless fluorescent lamp is removed the internal electrodes and heating filaments that are a light-limiting factor of conventional fluorescent lamps. The ring-shaped electrodeless lamp is intended as a high efficacy replacement for the incandescent reflector lamp in many applications. In this paper, maxwell 3D finite element analysis program (Ansoft) was used to obtain electromagnetic properties associated with the coil and nearby structures. The electromagnetic emitting properties were presented by 3D simulation software operated at 250[㎑]and some specific conditions. The optical measurement measured luminance and a temperature and an optical spectrum distribution for 10 minutes in a one minute interval at the same time.
