A Study on the Implementation of the DC Characteristic Measurement System for Semiconductor Devices (반도체 소자의 직류특성 측정 시스템의 구현에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we design and implement the DC characteristic measurement system for semiconductor devices. The proposed system is composed of 4 SMU(Source and Measure Unit) channels. Various efforts in hardware and software have been made to reduce the measurement errors. Internal and external sources of errors in measurement system especially in pA range measurement have been identified and removed. Also, various digital signal processing techniques are developed. Calibration is executed under the control of microprocessor periodically. Experimental results show that the implemented system can measure the DC characteristic of semiconductor devices with less than 0.2% error in various voltage and current source/measurement range.

  • This paper deals with finite element characteristic analysis of brushless DC motor according to magnetic property measurement methods. Magnetic property data for non-oriented (NO) electrical steel for electric motors are measured by the Epstein test which is considered as the international standards. Data from Epstein test may result in discrepancy from motor characteristic tests due to innate anisotropic property of NO electrical steel. Finite element analysis were performed for a BLDC motor by various measurement methods such as Epstein test, Ring test and single sheet test (SST), and calculated results were compared with considering anisotropic property conditions.

  • This paper presents a new algorithm of optimal measurement system by using band matrix characteristic respectively for state estimation. A performance index of measurement system is established to reflect relation among measurement sets, probability of measurement failure and cost of individual meter installation. Selection ranking in the candidates of measurement sets is composed to guarantee the observability for any any single meter outage. Performance index sensitivity is introduced and recursive formula which based on the matrix inversion lemma used for selection. The proposed algorithm is composed of successive addition algorithm, successive elimination algorithm and combinatorial algorithm. The band matrix characteristic could save in memory requirements and calculate the performance index faster than earlier.

  • In this study, a system for measurement of impedance (transmission parameter) on the human muscle was constructed. The system composed of the stimulating part for input with milli-voltage and the measuring part for measurement of transmission voltage in human muscle. As a result of this experiment, the frequency characteristic of each subject represent that the transmission voltage goes up in spite of a constant input voltage according to frequency (1Hz -50kHz) increment. Namely, the amplitude of input signal was not reflected but frequency was reflected on the measured results. This result be estimated that the proposed system is able to measure passive electrical characteristic of human body.

  • In this paper, we proposed measurement error reduction technique for the semiconductor device DC characteristic measurement system. Implemented system is composed of 4 SMUs, 2 VSUs, and 2 VMUs. Various efforts in hardware and software have been made to reduce the measurement errors due to the leakage current in measurement circuits. Internal and external sources of errors in measurement system especially in pA range measurement have been identified and removed. Experimental results show that the implemented system can be measure the DC characteristic of semiconductor devices in pA level.

  • This paper deals with the prediction of characteristic for permanent magnet linear synchronous motor(PMLSM). The open-circuit field distribution is predicted using a two-dimensional(2-D) analytical solution derivd in terms of magnetic vector potential. The slotting and skew effect is considered using the relative permeance function. and than using this result, flux linkage and back EMF is calculated. The results are validated extensively by finite element(FE) analyses and measurement.

  • This thesis deal with ferroelectric and ferromagnetic materials. PZT/Ferrite ceramics were made by the making process using PZT powder and garnet ferrite powder. PZT and ferrite are mixed as much 90%-10%, 50%-50%, and so on. After making samples, we are polishing samples until thickness is 0.1~0.2mm. We measured all kinds of samples in room temperature and applied magnetic field from -4500 to 4500 Oersted and conducted test of magnetical and electrical measurement using VSM and lpC resolution electrometer calibrated with RT66A pulsed tester. From this measurement, we can calculate tunability of these samples using C value obtained from P-E loop. As a result, it was able to measure magnetic characteristic when two matter had each other component ratio, and it was compound. However, it confirmed the possibility that was able to have ferroelectric characteristic with you in PZT 90% and ferrite 10%. Therefore, If this thing comes for PZT 50% and ferrite 50% have ferroelectric characteristic as him in a compound sample ore, can use this in an oscillator, supersonic waves detector in addition to a piezoelectric element. It may contribute to multipurpose of an element and demands such as a miniaturization of equipment, efficiency, reduce of a price which can use a characteristic of two components.

  • This paper describes measurement of relative permittivity of illite found in young-dong area. A measurement of relative permittivity of illite used to cylindrical cavity resonators with moveable cap. A concentric dielectric-rod inserted cylindrical cavity resonator and an exact field representation of travelling wave mode are introduced for measurement of relative permittivity. The exact electromagnetic fields in cylindrical cavity with concentric dielectric rod is analysed. A relative permittivity of dielectric in cavity is calculated by analyzing the characteristic equation. The characteristic equation is solved by using the ContourPlot graph of Mathematica. We know that the field representation of travelling mode is exact. As a result, relative permittivity of dielectric materials were 7.820 at sample-1 and 7.894 at sample-2.

  • A detailed Investigation of cell structure and electrical characteristic in chalcogenide-based phase-change random access memory(PRAM) devices is presented. We used compound of Ge-Sb-Te material for phase-change cell. A novel bottom electrode structure and manufacture are described. We used heat radiator structure for improved reset characteristic. A resistance change measurement is performed on the test chip. From the resistance change, we could observe faster reset characteristic.
