실내환경조절설비의 제어시스템 특성에 관한 시뮬레이션 (Simulation on the characteristics of the control system of an environmental control facility)

  • Environmental control facilities are used to simulate an environment or combination of environments under which many kinds of research and tests can be performed. The design of the control system to maintain desired environmental conditions is essential to proper operation of the facility. A simulation model of the facility has been developed by analyzing each component of the system thermodynamically with necessary properties and heat transfer relations. Using the system simulation model, the required characteristics of the control system has been investigated. PI controller is considered as the most probable controller for this kind of the facility, and electric heater power is shown as the Proper manipulated variable for temperature control.

실리콘러버 기반의 히터제작에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fabrication of Heater based on Silicone Rubber)

  • 실리콘러버히터는 플렉시블하기 때문에 평면, 곡면, 입체적인 형태에서도 직접 접착이나 피가열물에 넣어 설치할 수 있다. 현재의 가열방식은 열이 필요하지 않은 영역 또는 위치를 무시하고 피가열물체 전체를 가열하여 필요한 온도로 상승시키기 때문에 일부분만을 부분집중 가열할 수 없었다. 멀티히팅존을 이용하면 피가열물체 전체를 가열하는 것보다는 공정에 따라 열이 필요한 부분만 집중가열하기 때문에 열이 필요한 장소마다 적은 전기용량으로 발열량을 다르게 적용하여 국소 위치별로 빠르게 가열할 수 있고, 열에너지를 줄일 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 열융착이 필요한 영역에서 균일한 온도 또는 온도 차이가 발생하도록 다중 가열영역 구조내의 부분집중 영역에 대한 온도 및 가열 시간을 측정한다. 최적의 전력밀도 범위 결정 및 전기용량을 감소하기 위해 멀티히팅존 구조로 제작된 실리콘러버히터의 안전성을 알아본다. 이와 같이 다중가열방식으로 실리콘러버히터를 제작하면 다중집중 가열기술을 모든 가열공정에 이상적으로 적용할 수 있다.

공정 제어를 위한 적응 GP-PID의 구현과 동조 (Implementation and tuning of adaptive generalized predictive PID for process control)

  • In this paper, we present a GP-PID(Generalized Predictive PID) controller which has the same structure as a generalized predictive control with steady-state weighting. The proposed controller can perform better than the conventional PID controller because it includes intrinsic delay-time compensator. The PID tuning parameters and delay-time compensator are calculated by equating the two degree of freedom PID to a linear form of GPC. The proposed controller is combined with a supervisor for safe start and self-tuning. GP-PID controller has been tested for various numerical models and an experimental stirred tank heater. As a result, it was observed that the proposed controller shows a satisfactory performance for variable delay as well as stochastic disturbance.

Development of Environmental Control System for High-Quality Shiitake Mushroom (Lentinus edodes (Berk.) Sing.) Production

  • Purpose: Recently, an increasing number of farms have been cultivating shiitake mushrooms using a sawdust substrate and a cooler/heater. In this study, an attempt was made to develop an environmental control system using a heat pump for cultivating high-quality shiitake mushrooms. Methods: An environmental control system, consisting of an air-to-water type heat pump, a thermal storage tank, and a radiator in a variable opening chamber, was designed and fabricated. The system was also installed in the cultivation facility of a farm cultivating shiitake mushrooms so as to compare the proposed control system with a conventional environmental control system using a cooler-condensing unit and an electric hot water boiler. Results: The uniformity of the environment was analyzed through environment measurements taken at several positions inside the cultivation facility. It was determined that the developed environmental control system is able to control the variations in temperature and relative humidity to within 1% and 3%, respectively. In addition, a maximum temperature difference of $30^{\circ}C$ (maximum of $35^{\circ}C$, minimum of $5^{\circ}C$) and a maximum relative humidity difference of 30% (maximum of 90%, minimum of 60%) can be attained within 30 min inside the cultivation facility through the cooling of the heat pump and heating of the radiator in a variable opening chamber. Thus, the developed control system can be used to cultivate high-quality shiitake mushrooms more effectively than a conventional cooler and heater. Conclusions: In comparison with a conventional environmental control system, the developed system decreased the yield of ordinary mushrooms by 65%, and increased that of high-quality mushrooms by 217%. This corresponds to a 16% increase in gross farm income. Consequently, the developed system is expected to improve the income of shiitake mushroom cultivating farms.

1kW급 연료전지 평가시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (A study on development of 1kW SOFC test system)

  • 본 연구에서는 연료전지 중 발전효율이 50% 이상으로 가장 높고 가정용(1~10kW급) 시스템으로 필요성이 높아지고 있는 고체산화물 연료전지(SOFC, Solid Oxide Fuel Cell)에 대한 평가시스템을 설계하여 최적의 평가성능을 구현코자 하였다. 최적의 연료전지 평가시스템을 구현하기 위하여 전처리 및 반응조건 제어를 위한 온도제어모듈, 반응물에 대한 유량제어모듈, 전자부하기 등을 구현하였다. 온도제어모듈은 K형 서머커플을 사용하여 운전온도인 $750^{\circ}C$에서 $1^{\circ}C$이내의 정밀도 구현이 가능토록 설계하였고, 가스의 양이 일정하게 유지하기 위한 가습기 구조를 설계하였으며, 송풍기 및 히터의 정밀제어가 가능하도록 위상제어보드를 설계하여 적용함으로서 목표성능을 구현하였으며, 전자부하기는 방전방식으로 정전압, 정전류, 정저항 모드와 아날로그 입력과 출력모듈에 별도의 DC-DC 컨버터를 사용하여 오류를 최소화하였다. 구현한 평가시스템의 성능을 측정한 결과 스택전압은 80V에서 0.15%, 스택전류는 100A에서 0.1%의 정밀제어가 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • Increasing demand for comfortable indoor environment and air-conditioning demand is also increasing. Building energy consumption in university which is made up of many different kinds factor was researched. Central control air-conditioning systems are being replaced with individually controlled air-conditioning system. The amount of growth of electricity consumption is due to the increasing demand of EHP. Conversely, the demand for absorption chiller-heater is shrinking. Winter and in summer a lot of electricity and gas usage. On the other hand, showed less energy in spring and autumn. Increase the amount of electricity than the degree of decline in gas consumption was higher. Can be considered as transitional phenomena. Because EHP and the absorption chiller-heater are used at the same time in some of the buildings. To use energy efficiently is needed additional research about environmental impact, economic evaluation.

  • As the necessity of increasing the midnight base load is extensively increased, electric power companies have to increase the demand of midnight electrical power by lowering the electrical charge rate at midnight. One of the most widely used midnight equipments is the heat Storage type's electrical boiler. A Single chip microprocessor controller for the heat-storage type's electrical boiler is developed. This controller call reduce the undesirable peak load at the begining of midnight (i.e.11 P.M.) time band by using backward load control method. Futhermore, this controller enables reservation of heat storge and the effective heating control the field test has been done by use the boiler for 66$m^2$ with the heater of 21KW quality.

매설용 전기 발열 매시의 융설 효과에 대한 현장 적용성 연구 (A Study on Field Applicability of Underground Electric Heating Mesh)

  • PURPOSES : This study aims to investigate the snow-melt effects of an underground electric heater's snow-melt system via a field performance test, for evaluating the suitability of the system for use on a concrete pavement. The study also investigates the effectiveness of dynamic measures for clearing snow after snowfall events. METHODS : In order to check the field applicability, in November 2010, specimens were prepared from materials used for constructing concrete pavements, and underground electric heating meshes (HOT-mesh) were buried at depths of 50 mm and 100 mm at the site of the Incheon International Airport Construction Research Institute. Further, an automatic heating control system, including a motion sensor and pavement-temperature-controlled sensor, were installed at the site; the former sensor was intended for determining snow-melt effects of the heating control system for different snowfall intensities. Pavement snow-melt effects on snowy days from December 2010 to January 2011 were examined by managing the electric heating meshes and the heating control system. In addition, data on pavement temperature changes resulting from the use of the heating meshes and heating control system and on the dependence of the correlation between the outdoor air temperature and the time taken for the required temperature rise on the depth of the heating meshes were collected and analyzed. RESULTS : The effects of the heating control system's preheat temperature and the hot meshes buried at depths of 50 mm and 100 mm on the melting of snow for snowfalls of different intensities have been verified. From the study of the time taken for the specimen's surface temperature to increase from the preheat temperature ($0^{\circ}C$) to the reference temperature ($5{\sim}8^{\circ}C$) for different snowfall intensities, the correlation between the burial depth and outdoor air temperature has been determined to be as follows: Time=15.10+1.141Depth-6.465Temp CONCLUSIONS : The following measures are suggested. For the effective use of the electric heating mesh, it should be located under a slab it may be put to practical use by positioning it under a slab. From the management aspect, the heating control system should be adjusted according to weather conditions, that is, the snowfall intensity.

The inspection and maintenance of pressurizer internal structures by using the tele-operated robotic manipulator in nuclear power plants

  • A pressurizer is one of the major safety related equipment of nuclear power plants. In order to inspect and maintain the internal structures of a pressurizer, jumpers have to enter the pressurizer, in spite of the high dose exposure. Therefore, a tele-operated robotic manipulator has been developed, which consists of four parts with 2DOFs arms, a gripper, base frame, and control console. The task of this robotic manipulator is to extract the damaged electric heaters and inspect the internal structure of the pressurizer. The gripper hanging from the manipulator approaches the heaters and extracts the damaged heater by using a self-locking mechanism. In order to investigate the structural stability of the robotic manipulator, a stress analysis has been performed by using the ANSYS code. The results of this paper include the position control and vibration control of robotic gripper and the development of processing visual information for a vision sensor.
