  • At this study, one of the electrical problems, arc characteristics according to loss of contact between a pantograph and a catenary, was analyzed. A characteristic of arc current is disappeared in a short period of time. Nevertheless, it has large current same as a surge, so that it has EMI/EMC problems. In the case of the electrical railway system, there is oscillation and de-wiring. The are current is generated by these problems. The result of this study can be used as a facility design to prevent a surge and needs to prove through actual field data in the main circuit of an electric train for a precise analysis about effect of are.

  • This paper is purpose to understand the dissipation factor properties of the oil-filled large transformer according to the oil filtering. In order to know the insulation characteristic change by insulating oil filtering, we carried out the insulation diagnostic test for the same transformer before oil filtering and after. The insulation diagnosis tests are consist of the megger, the polarization index, the AC current test, the dissipation factor test and the partial discharge test, Especially we took notice of dissipation factor change, we analyzed and made a comparison of the two cases test result.

  • This paper deals with the characteristics of SPMSM for hydraulic actuator according to the slot number. As a design variable, slot number affects the winding configuration and this leads to the total variation of motor characteristic. Therefore number of slot should be cautiously determined. Three SPMSMs are designed and THD of back emf, cogging torque, and torque ripple are compared. Among three SPMSMs, 36slots with 12 pole is chosen for further development considering motor characteristics and manufacturing.

  • As the importance of low power design is emphasized, power consumption became one of the standards that represent the performance of the system. The purpose of this study is to decide design variable that minimize power consumption for the oxygen concentrator in two bed-one compressor 8 step PSA process that has above 90% purity at 3lpm by using given constants and selected parameters. Setting selected parameters as cycle time and equalization time, optimization for PSA process in the oxygen concentrator is progressed. For this, we need to know the features and basic principals of PSA process and to deduce objective function of performance analysis. Validations for objective function and lots of experiments are needed too. By using the characteristic curve of the compressor and the pressure curve of the process for 1 cycle, objective function was set. After theoretical 2 dimensional optimized paths was obtained. And then, by experiment, theoretical optimized path was verified.

  • Composite membranes having different mixing ratio of Wool(SCMK) and poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) were prepared by dissolving wool/PET in hexafluoro-2-propanol(HFIP), casting the obtained solution on a glass plate and evaporation the solvent in the presence and absence of an electric field. The internal structure of the prepared membrane was investigated using polarise microscope dyeing and dye permeation method. In the composite membrane prepared under electric field, both components were micro mixing, while in the membranes prepared under nonelectric field, the two components formed a random sea/island structure according to different mixing ratio. Such characteristic membrane structure was influenced the permeation behavior of C.I. Acid Red 118 through the membranes from an aqueous solution.

  • It happened that there was a sudden peak with the capacity of change, when I measured the capacity of change, cubical expansion and Thermally Stimulated Current on the Cross - Linked Polythylene. Crystal melting began at 375 K and changed into formaless shapeless at 380 K.   • Thermal transient tests were performed on the electric initiator with STS 304 bridgewire(diameter 2.3 mil) and $Zr-KCIO_4$ primary charge. Analysing the test data using fitted Wire Model shows that the thermal characteristic parameter related to primary charge is changed sharply around $300^{\circ}C$. It is determined that this phenomenon is due to endothermic reaction from phase transition of $KCIO_4$, which is a component of the primary charge.

  • Low-Pressure inductively coupled RF discharge sources have important industrial applications mainly because they can provide a high-density electrodeless plasma source with low ion energy and low power loss. In an inductive discharge, the RF power is coupled to the plasma by an electromagnetic interaction with the current flowing in a coil. In this paper, the experiments have been focussed on the electric characteristic and carried out using a single Langmuir probe. The internal electric characteristics of inductively coupled Ar RF discharge at 13.56(MHz) have been measured over a wide range of power at gas pressure ranging from 1∼70(mTorr).

  • For a control of CPS(Contactless Power Supply), the paper deals with the results which are simulated by a equivalent electric circuit on the LIPT(Linear Inductive Power Transmission). In order to control the CPS, the output values is handled with the driving frequency according to the change of a load. The method that controls the driving frequency for adjusting the output power is reasonable to be applied to the controller. But, when the driving frequency meets the resonant frequency and passes, it lead to a serious problem. Therefore, the controlled region of the driving frequency has to be predicted and determined by the simulation of a electric circuit.

  • This paper presents the results of an investigation and assessment of the direct short term impacts of electric service interruption incurred by livestock customers. The study used a direct visit survey to determine the customer assessment of electric service interruption and characteristic. The variation in interruption cost with the characteristics of interruptions such as duration, time of day, frequency, and day of interruption was also investigated.
