  • Recently study on components for a electric golf car and a utility car driven by a electric motor has been performed actively, and the study on a drive motor, a inverter and a battery focuses on a small, light weight and high power density source to improve fuel efficiency using limited electric energy. Especially, since a utility car such as a golf car performance depends on initial acceleration and maximum speed capability, a drive system requires high power and large and wide operation area, This study therefore investigates on the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor with high power density and wide operation, and is verified with the test result after design and characteristic analysis is performed.

  • PC용 냉각장치의 일환으로 CPU의 외벽에 방열판을 달고 열전냉각모듈을 설치한 후 방열판을 냉각하기 위해서 펌프를 적용한 수냉식 냉각 시스템을 개발하고자 하였다. 먼저, 냉각 시 펌프의 부하를 설계하고 그 용량에 적절한 저소음, 고효율 BLDC 모터를 개발하고자, 상용화된 외국제품인 S사의 저효율 단상 BLDC 모터가 적용된 수냉식 펌프를 기준으로 하였다. S사의 단상 BLDC 모터에 대한 시뮬레이션과 테스트를 통해서 거의 비슷한 결과를 얻었으며, 이를 이용하여 단가가 다소 상승하더라도 효율과 성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 3상 BLDC 모터구조로 설계를 하였으며, 그 결과 효율이 거의 2배 향상되며 출력 또한 향상됨을 시뮬레이션으로 구현하였다.

  • 초고압 전력케이블용 기중 종단접속재에 사용되는 지지애자의 전기적 고절연 성능과 기계적 Compact화된 제품개발을 목적으로 Simulation Tool을 활용하여 전계해석을 수행하였고, 해석된 결과를 기초로 지지애자를 설계, 개발 하였다. 개발된 지지애자의 Sample을 채취하고 전기적, 기계적 시험을 통하여 신뢰성을 검증 하였다. 전계해석에 있어서는 Epoxy와 Porcelain 재료, Old type과 New type으로 구분하여 재료별, 구조별로 해석을 진행 하였다. 지지애자의 설계기준과 전기적, 기계적 시험 결과를 비교하여 개발된 제품의 특성에 있어서 얼마만큼의 안전율을 확보 할 수 있는지 알 수 있었고, Porcelain 지지애자와 비교하여 약 40%의 크기를 축소할 수 있는 전기적, 기계적 신뢰성이 확보된 지지애자를 개발 할 수 있었다.

  • The live line working is inherently dangerous as the workers have to work under the risk of electrical shock and most of works are carried out at height. The live line working need the some specific techniques and higher level safety measures such as a risk assessment to carry out works safely, but the electrical construction companies performed live-line working are usually small-sized companies. They have less capacity to have own safety management system. This study intended to conduct an in-depth analysis on the cause of electric shock accidents to provide basic data for policy proposing taking into considering the past eleven years for a long-term plan. And the aim of this study is to propose the policy about the equipment performance standards and/or worker's safety standards to revise the standards for preventing electric shock accidents, moreover, co-relation of the electrical work order form and on safety workings, especially electrical construction company/work.

  • 발전원이 다른 계동으로 연계된 춘천, 남춘천변전소의 태전선로간 Loop 시행시 일부배전선로가 Trip되는 현상에 대하여 PSSE 검토 TOOL을 활용하여 계통을 모의하고 변압기 병렬운전조건에 대한 물리적 의미와 검토대상 배전선로 계통특성, 주변 발전원의 발전력과의 상관관계를 기술검토를 통하여 계통특성을 분석함으로써 Loop시행이 가능한 계통여건을 파악, 선로 운영의 최적방안을 제시하고자 한다.

  • An electric railway system is composed of high-tech subsystems, among which main electric equipments such as transformers, converter and traction motors are critical components determining the performance of rolling stock. We developed a measurement system for on-line test and evaluation of performances of Korean High Speed Train. The measurement system is composed of software part and hardware part. Perfect interface between multi-users is possible. A new method to measure temperature was applied to the measurement system. By using the system, measurement and evaluation for the performance of electric equipments in Korean High Speed Train was conducted during test running.

Electro-optic Electric Field Sensor Utilizing Ti:LiNbO3 Symmetric Mach-Zehnder Interferometers

  • The use of a $Ti:LiNbO_3$ symmetric Mach-Zehnder interferometric intensity modulator with a push-pull lumped electrode and a plate-type probe antenna to measure an electric field strength is described. The modulator has a small device size of $46{\times}7{\times}1mm$ and operates at a wavelength of $1.3{\mu}m$. The output characteristic of the interferometer shows the modulation depth of 100% and 75%, and $V_{\pi}$ voltage of 6.6 V, and 6.6 V at the 200 Hz and 1 KHz, respectively. The minimum detectable electric field is ~1.84 V/m, ~3.28 V/m, and ~11.6 V/m, corresponding to a dynamic range of about ~22 dB, ~17 dB, and ~6 dB at frequencies of 500 KHz, 1 MHz and 5 MHz, respectively.

  • It is shown that fundamental plasma characteristic, which are sheath voltage and ion concentration, can be derived from measuring RF impedence. Plasma characteristics from this simple method are verified by direct measuring, to be reasonable. Using these values a new relation between isotropy and the ratio of sheath voltage to ion concentration is derived. For etch in which $CF_4$ is used, anisotropic etch can be achieved in its order $10^{-12}Vcm^3$ and isotropic etch in $10^{-12}Vcm^3$. These results are useful in every asymetric diode type etch system.

  • New locomotives 8100 & series 8200, based on the BR152 of German railway are suitable for heavy-duty freight traffic as well as for passenger transport. This electric locomotive had applied by trial petition way and 57 car is operating in mainline and industrial line until now. As matter of fact, this has a purpose to help designing and manufacturing the new electric locomotive in these day when almost all the line is changing into the electric fire line. This thesis has a purpose to check whether the actual simulation value properly apply and meet the designing value, comparing the result of the simulation for the performance of developed locomotive with the result of the type test which can be proceed in actual locomotive in korea (evaluating both the design value and the performance of the real locomotive).

  • KORAIL is one of the biggest consumer in electric power market so it is necessary to investigate power consumption pattern and optimize power rates. This paper presents simulation program for electric power rates define program based on billing system database. Base on the substation annual power usage DB data, the characteristic of the substation power consumption are investigated and effective electrical billing system are compared each other. Through this program it is verified that we can save more then several hundred million won for a year. Also electric train air condition power consumption was measured to figure the method how to reduce peak energy consumption.
