The scope of this study is focused on the survey of new logistics transportation systems in railroad and case studies of new systems such as piggyback system, bi-modal system swapbody, and double stack train(DST). Piggyback system, bi-modal system, swapbody, and double stack train are reviewed in term of technological validity and economic validity in Korea. Piggyback - trailer does pass loaded weight limits but does not pass train limits and can not utilize the existing freight cars. Piggyback - cargo trunk does pass all the criteria and could be developed by a domestic technology. But this study suggests to expand the length of train cars to 18.300mm for accommodation of two cargo trucks. Bi-modal system and swapbody do also pass. Double stack train could only pass the loaded weights and does not meet the train limit and the possibility of using existing freight cars. Domestic technology could not development DST, due to civil engineering construction limits and low standard height of electric line, which could not afford to operate DST.
KHST(Korean High-Speed Train, 350km/h), composed of 7 cars that are 2 power cars, 2 motorized car and 3 trailer cars, has been developed and is under on-line test. To verify hte design requirements about the functions and traction performances of this train, KRRI(Korea Railroad Research Institute) decided to evaluate traction performances of the train during on-line test. For this purpose, such as torque, velocity, voltage and current, must be measured. BRRI has developed the measurement system that can be measured vast and various signals effectively. In this paper, we introduce traction performances of KHST. The traction measurement items are focused on the verification of motor block performances.
To achieve adequate brake performance in high-speed trains the brake system should : ${\bullet}$ offer high reliability and high availability, ${\bullet}$ permit deceleration of the train with as little wear as possible, and ${\bullet}$ display good control characteristics with, if possible, infinitely variable control of the braking effort. For these reasons, high-speed train is to be equipped with three different and largely independent brake system : ${\bullet}$ a regenerative brake with regenerative feedback in the driven cars, ${\bullet}$ a linear eddy-current brake in the nondriven cars and ${\bullet}$ a pneumatic disc brake in all cars. This paper describes the conceptual design of braking system for Korea High Speed Train with the maximum speed of 350km/h

Because of the increase in information and knowledge sharing in various fields, technological development across various industries were growing energy demand. Advanced technologies was done to find alternative energy sources. Relevant studies are under way to promote efficiency of energy source. The problem of climate change is not the only reason why made electric cars. it is because of the efficiency of the utilization of alternative energy sources has improved. In this paper we focuses about usage of thermoelectric effect with electric cars.

ISO/IEC 15118 is a standard for communications and services for electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Although this standard deals only with data communication between an electric vehicle and a charge station, communication with the outside is essential for establishing an authentication system for vehicle certification and V2G service for electric power transmission. In this study, it was designed to verify the information of electric car charging infrastructure in electric power system through communication link between ISO/IEC 15118 electric vehicle model and IEC 61850 standard MMS protocol. This is demonstrated in the field so that the electric vehicle communication data is linked with the micro grid management system. This could be used as an element technology in other distributed power sources as well as electric cars in the future.
Electric cars are expected to increase quality of life by reducing air pollution and to contribute to economic growth by creating new businesses. However, electric car adoption has lagged and has not satisfied public expectation. One of the primary reasons for this outcome is the slow charging speed or inconvenience of charging a battery. Under the insufficient diffusion of electric cars, pushing business entities to construct charging facilities is undesirable for a policy maker to increase the adoption rate because of cost and management issues. This study adopts the design science methodology to interpret the problem of deploying electric car charging stations in the view of information systems. A trip planning algorithm is suggested on the basis of the theory of range anxiety. We investigate issues related to the current charging locations using data from drivers' car navigation devices. We also review its applicability to trip planning to obtain insights.
In this study, we conducted research on a miniaturized transmission system suitable for ultra-compact electric vehicles, such as electric arts or small electric cars. While conventional electric vehicles eliminate multi-gear transmissions and control motor output or secure initial driving force through reducers, in vehicles like electric karts or compact electric cars, which have relatively small battery capacities, the driving range can be reduced or the motor can be stressed epending on the loading state. Therefore, in this study, we developed a low stage ratio 0.625 and high stage ratio 1.6 a two-stage transmission system that can change gears as needed, considering factors such as slope conditions and loading status, by applying the continuously variable transmission (CVT) mechanism. Based on the selected gear ratios, we designed the transmission and created a test rig to verify the power transmission efficiency of the developed transmission. Using the test rig, we varied the rotational speed and load of the transmission to confirm its power transmission characteristics and also examined the heat generation characteristics during shifting and operation. As a result, developed a two-stage transmission with a CVT structure.
In this paper, design and construction process for the standardized electric motor car according to standard specification is described. Aluminum extrusion profiles and power and control system made domestically are used in the electric motor car. Also, plug-sliding door system for noise reduction and automatic train control system are developed and applied. Through the development of the electric motor car, most electric and control systems can be substituted by domestic standard systems, and safety and reliability of electric motor cars can be secured.
With the transition from internal combustion engine vehicles to eco-friendly cars, it has become essential to systematically construct an education system for electric vehicles based on high-voltage electric devices. In this study, we discussed the establishment of an educational system for electric vehicles based on high-voltage electric devices and proposed methods for qualifications after completing the education. To ensure systematic education, we presented a classification of learners according to their levels and job competencies. Additionally, we emphasized the importance of providing adequate practical training equipment for courses that require higher qualifications. Finally, to distinguish between the levels of completion of training and practical skills, we highlighted the necessity of implementing a system to certificates to individuals who have successfully completed the systematic training program.

The development for Eco-friendly cars has been expanded as the concern about environmental pollution and a rise in gas prices. The Electric Vehicle(EV) and Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle(PHEV) are generally connected on distribution power systems to charge the traction batteries. The growing number of EV/PHEVs could have a effect on distribution power systems and result in overload of power utilities and power quality problems. In order to reduce the adverse effect on distribution power systems, the influence of electric vehicle loads should be evaluated. In this paper, the influence of electric vehicle loads is evaluated by using OpenDSS(Open Source Distribution System Simulator) according to the penetration rate of electric vehicle.
