  • The purpose of this study is suggesting a basic data for which scientific preservation and rehabilitation of future modern architecture through the analyzing property of clay brick used in modern architecture in a scientific way.The clay brick which is used in the early 1900s has even lower property than present clay brick because of poor plasticity technique at that time. It could be possible to property and effective stability examination of modern architecture from nondestructive testing is significantly associated with property.

  • Currently the study on the effective use of the fly ash is concentrated as construction materials, which is by product of electric power generating plants. Fly ash, therefore, can be used as concrete admixture for the purpose of not only increasing the concrete quality but also of utilizing materials. Within the country it is not easy to use fly ash for the construction purpose because the properties of fly ash are varied due to the use of different raw ores in the various power plants. And little previous construction experiments and the basic experiments about the formation of bubbles are performed. In this study the water-cement ratio is varied in 3 different values and compressive strength is measured and freeze-thaw experiments are preformed to establish the relationships between water-cement ratios and the durability. And also for each batch of different water-cement ratio fly ash is substituted 10%, 20% and 30% of cement and concrete mixture the admixture and the formation of bubbles and also freeze-thaw resistance.

  • For strengthening deteriorated concrete structures, externally bonded FRP sheets or plates using epoxy resins are widely used. For the external FRP composites to be effective in improving the performance of the structure, bond between FRP composites and concrete is required. In general, the most frequently observed failure mode in FRP strengthened concrete structures is debonding failure at the interfacial section between FRP and concrete. Therefore, it is very important to find out the interfacial behavior properties. This paper presents experimental results of the relationship of concrete and FRP sheet for some conditions including concrete compressive strength, concrete surface preparation to observe the bond behavior between concrete and FRP sheet and various anchorage types to increase the bond capacity of FRP sheet.

  • This study investigate the hydration heat history with variation of surface insulating material in cold weather concreting. According to the results, the temperature of concrete lowers below zero in 24hours, so early frost damage occurs in the case of exposure and 1 fold bubble sheet, but the lowest temperature keeps above zero, so a adiabatic effect is very favorable in the case of double bubble sheet and 부직포. Compressive strength of core specimen at 7 and 28 days is highest In the case of double bubble sheet and 부직포. But, considering convenience of construction and economical efficiency, it is thought that the most effective surface insulating material is 1 fold bubble sheet +blanket.

  • γ-C2S is known as a kind of substance that it does not react with water at room temperature. However it could react with the CO2 producing CaCO3 and silica gel as the carbonation products. Thus γ-C2S can be used as a mineral addition to improve the compressive strength and durability of concrete. On the other hand, the manufacture of γ-C2S can give an effective utilization of industrial by-product with low energy consumption and low CO2 emission. This paper aims to summarize the development situation on this field.

  • This report is the results of an experimental study on the relative effectiveness of different types of steel fiber in concrete. The fibers considered in the study were straight-indent and hooked-collated with aspect ratios of about 50~100. A fiber volume of 0~2 percent was used throughout this investigation. The fresh fibrous mixes were characterized by the slump and vebe-time, and the hardened materials by their compressive and flexural load-deflection relationships. Hooked fibers were found to be more effective than straight ones in improving the strength and energy absorption of concrete.

  • The published works on steam curing effect have been generally concentrated on the subject, "compressive strength". However a practical test for durable steam curing concrete products has not been performed in domestic. In this study, the maximum temperature of steam is considered as a major variable to investigate the freezing and thawing resistance of the steam curing concrete. All of the specimen were cured for 24 hours which included presteaming 4 hour. Finally we found that the most effective curing condition is the case of one-day and 14-day specimens after the 24 hours steam curing at $74^{\cire}C$ degree curing temperature. It is also found that the durability of one-day samples are much weaker than those of 14-day samples. Consequently, we can conclude that the samples that produced immediately after a steam curing are more possible to deteriorate from the freezing and thawing environment.vironment.

  • The Age-adjusted effective Modulus Method(AEMM) is one of the methods adopted for the construction stage analysis of concrete structures. The AEMM uses the aging factor to consider the effects of the varying concrete stress. In the aspects of computation time and the accuracy of the results, the AEMM is considered as one of most appropriate methods for construction stage analysis of tall building structures. Previous researches proposed appropriate values of the aging factor in the forms of graphs or using very simple equations. In this paper, an equation for estimating the aging factor as a function of rebar ratio in the section, compressive strength of concrete, notional member dimension, and age of concrete at the load application. The validity of aging factor proposed in this paper were examined by the comparison with the results of step-by step method.

  • High-calcium fly ash (FH) is widely used as mineral admixtures in concrete industry. In this paper, a hydration model is proposed to describe the hydration of high-calcium fly ash blended-cement. This model takes into account the hydration reaction of cement, the chemical reaction of fly ash, and reaction of free CaO in fly ash. Using the proposed model, the development of compressive strength of FH blended concrete is predicted using the amount of calcium silicate hydrate (CSH). The agreement between simulation and experimental results proves that the new model is quite effective.

  • This study was performed to investigate evaluation of workability from the application in construction site for watertightness concrete used in anti-crack agent. This study compares plain concrete test with field test was carried out at mat foundation(thickness a.8m) of newly constructed apartments of Noen Dong. Conducted tests show that the anti-crack agent was effective to progress compressive strength and control the crack and durability in a construction field.
