  • In order to figure out the usability of various timber structures in the educational facility, the recent timber structure examples published in the Japanese architectural magazine, 'ShinKenchiku' over the past five years were surveyed. As the results, timber structures were presented in many cases of nursery schools and kindergartens overwhelmingly, and they also used in various school buildings, university facilities, and the roof structure of the school's gymnasium, with intention of having the differentiated design and space features. The examples show that span 6 to 10m is generally used with flexure structure system and flexure+compression structure system added the strut as compression members. In addition concerning stability, it was founded that the struts have an stability effect in the flexure+compression structure system, and flexure structure system examples using semi-rigid joints have open spaces liberally in two-way direction for about 9m span. For large spaces structures with span of 15~20m or more, the various structural system such as suspension structure, truss, flexure+compression, etc. was designed to overcome the material limitations of timbers and to make an design effect in structure system.

  • Polyethylene glycol (PEG) has been the most commonly used polymer for the past few decades in the field of biomedical applications due to its gold standard stealth effect. PEGylation of antibody-drug conjugates, liposomes, peptides, nanoparticles, and proteins is done to improve their pharmaceutical efficacy and pharmacokinetic properties. PEGylation of antibodies with various PEG linkers improves targeting ability by increasing the blood circulation time and thus enhances the biodistribution profiles. It also assists in minimizing the immediate capture by the reticuloendothelial system. In this review, we summarize the effect of PEG linkers in an antibody conjugation and their pharmacokinetics in the field of biomedical imaging.

  • The purpose of the National Assessment of Educational Achievement(NAEA) is not only to assess educational progress and achievement but also to collect background information affecting educational achievement. It is important to know which factors affect the National Assessment of Educational Achievement(NAEA) and to explore how much those factors show the educational effect. In this study, first, we examined general characteristics of the survey with relation to the background information. Second, we analyzed the relationships between test scores and information on the students' profile such as background, extracurricular activities, and information on the school profile in NAEA 2004. Third, we suggested some educational policies on the basis of those analysis and indicated the limitation of this study.

  • The Educational Restitution Rate is an important parameter that determines the quality of university education. This paper analyzed data from 148 private universities over the 10 years from 2009 to 2018 using data mining techniques in Korea. A significant causal relationship is detected in the fixed effect model as a result of the panel estimation. And the scale of faculty expansion and fund management, which are the university evaluation indicators, and the size of basic funds, respectively, have a positive effect on the ERR, which is within the confidence interval. In the analysis, the more private universities improve the tuition dependence rate, the more decisively positive affecting ERR. As a result of nonparametric regression estimation, when the faculty expansion ratio is reinforced, the effect of economies of scale is detected in some sections, the improvement of the tuition dependence rate, and the result value is generated through the improvement that results are derived at a certain point in time. We hope that the university based on this study can be a basic Indicators for the diagnosis of basic competencies and policy of student-centered education.

  • This study investigated the effect of educational intervention utilizing fairy tales on young children's creativity and pro-social behaviors. Participants were 40 five-year-old young children. Fairy tale books were read to the experimental group and were adapted for various educational intervention activities but the control group participated only in standard child care center themes without educational interventions. Results showed significant differences between experimental and control groups in creativity and pro-social behavior. Findings confirmed that educational intervention utilizing fairy tales is an effective means for enhancing creativity and pro-social behavior in young children.

  • The increase of the population has an effect on the increase of students. The high birthrate, which means the extension of enrollments in the future, requires preparation of enough facilities and equipment for education. However, the educational conditions of Korea are not yet developed, and in such a situation the increase of enrollments makes the improvement of educational conditions difficult. Besides, the influx of students into the large cities has made complex educational problems such as a decrease of students in the rural area and a change for the worse of the educational conditions in the urban area. For the development of education in such a situation, an emphasis should be put not only on security of a stable educational finance but also on activation of family planning project and curb of population influx into large cities in the realm of population policy. In addition, population education for the youth should be strengthened in order that they can have sound view of family life, married life, children, and sex moral. For the way the young married live has relationship with the number and quality of children in the future of our nation.

  • This is descripitive study conducted to identify educational needs of mothers of nephrotic syndrome patients. The study subjects were composed of 74 mothers of nephrotic syndrome patients whose children were hospitalized in 2 Pediatric wards of University Hospital in Seoul and 1 in Pusan from June to september in 1996. A questionaire for this study was item Kikert type 5 point scale, developed on the basis of previous literature and researcher's clinical experience and the reliability of the used instruments was α=.97. t-test, and ANOVA were used to determine the effect of general characteristics of subjects on their educational needs. Pearson correlation was done to measure relations between general characterictics of subjects and their educational needs and Stepwise Multiple Regression was done to test a variable affecting educational needs. The results were as follows. 1. Mean score of the educational needs of the subjects was 137.06(Maximum 176) . The educational needs of home care was the highest score, but the question numbers are smaller than other categories. So, the educational need of the diagnosis and treatment was regarded as the highest in contents. 2. The number of subject's children, except for patient revealed significant negative correlation to educational need. 3. The number of subject's children, except for patient(R²=.215289 P=.0006)and the age of patient (R²=.23770 P=.0001) were emerged as important variables affecting the degree of mothers' educational need. Suggestion are as follows on the basis of these results. 1. It is proposed that nurses use these results of the study activly for the educational program for Nephrotic Syndrome patients and their mothers. 2. It is identified that the educational needs of the mothers of nephrotic syndrom is high. So, it is suggested to identify and analysis the degree of the nurse's educational performance perceived by mother. 3. It is suggested to make a comparative study of the degree of nurse's understanding of the importance on educational items with the instruments of this study.
