UNESCO is an international specialized agency based on the United Nations (UN) located in the Paris. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization abbreviated as UNESCO. The mission and goal of UNESCO are to maintain the peace and security throughout the globe by encouraging international collaborations through educational, scientific, and cultural heritage in order to increase respect for principals of justice, international rules of law, and international human rights. Recently, the UNESCO published a new set of 17 goals for the nation's sustainable society. The Organization ensures to actively participate in UN activities to improve harmony and planning within the United Nations system. The 2030 agenda is primarily about shifting the world on to a sustainable and most in-depth. Currently, UNESCO launched broad goals and objectives for the international community including the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Among these sustainable goals, climate change, water security is more significant. In this paper, we briefly reviewed the seventeen goals by UNESCO.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the Korean Local Government's recognition on the educational gap among regions in the filed of adult learning including vocational education and life long-learning. The study also tried to figure out the local government's recognition and infrastructure of e-Learning which is suggested as one of the solutions on the regional gap of educational opportunities and quality. This study took 12 HRD(Human Resources Development) centers funded and operated by the Korean Local Governments except Seoul and Kyong-Gi classified by the metropolitan areas in Korea. As a result, firstly it was found that the local governments had perception on the difference and gap of educational opportunities and quality among regions in the area of adult education. Especially, the perception was relatively more serious on quality than quantity. Secondly, the result showed the large gap among regions on the area of opening educational and training programs, the quality of teachers and tutors, the effectiveness and outcomes of educational programs. Thirdly, they perceived more serious educational gap on face-to-face classes rather than e-Learning in the context of educational methodology. It also revealed that the local governments had relatively better foundations on physical systems than other infrastructures and resources such as human-ware, culture-ware and soft-ware(contents, programs etc.). It was recommended to consider these findings in developing and implementing future educational policies to solve the problem of regional gap on education.

Teachers' mathematical knowledge for teaching (MKT) strongly influence student achievement (Hill, Rowan, & Ball, 2005). However, there is generally no record that shows the levels of teachers' MKT in schools and districts. Because of the limited resources, schools and districts need some criteria to decide how to distribute their resources to help teachers improve MKT. This study explores what factors in teachers' backgrounds are related to their levels of MKT. This article examines the relationships between the MKT of 336 elementary teachers and their demographic, educational, and teaching backgrounds. To measure MKT, I used a series of multiple-choice problems. The number of years teaching mathematics is not critical to these measures. Implications are discussed with regard to policy for mathematics teacher education.

The purpose of this study was to propose an education cooperation model for Human Resources Development (HRD) in Asia-Pacific region in response to environmental changes in business and industry. In order to carry out the model, this study reviewed the key features of human resources in the APEC which is a symbolic regional integration entity in Asia-Pacific region, shaped critical issues related with HRD in this region and then analyzed the trends of education cooperation projects conducted by the APEC in terms of topics, implementation methods and proposing economies of the projects. In result, this study proposed a triangular education cooperation model for HRD consisting of three elements: Voluntary Partnership, Information on Needs and Support for Cooperation. These interconnected and interdependent elements were designed to encourage actors to participate in education cooperative activities with their own willingness, produce and manage research-based information required for sustainable cooperation and support communication and connectivity among actors for effective activities. Also, this study expected that this model would make a commitment to narrowing educational divides, enhancing global-standard skills development, facilitating public and private partnership and organizing the foundation of future education for cultivating creative talents in the era of innovation for APEC members.

This study examined whether there is any difference in the public library patrons' library uses depending on their participation in the educational and cultural programs of such libraries. Additional analysis was conducted to determine if the particular educational and cultural program participants' showed any consistent library use patterns. The statistical analysis of such program offerings and the patron survey data resulted in the findings such as that there were statistically significant differences in how the patrons' used the libraries, the number of library resources borrowed, and the frequency of library websites and/or mobile applications used based on their participation in the educational and cultural programs and also the types of programs that they attended.

Purpose: The purposes of this study is to develop an educational program to prevent sexual abuse of children and to improve the physical and mental health of children by providing a rape-free environment and safety education. This program will provide parents and children with information on how to prevent sexual abuse in children. Children learn specific methods to avoid being victimized both at home and outside the home through a learning game and simulation, which is based on problem solving. Method: This program was developed based on a literature reviews, surveys and negotiation process. School- aged-children, parents, and teachers were interviewed to reveal their educational needs based on their experiences related to sexual abuse. Result: This program includes useful subjects such as safety education, early detection of sexual abuse, crisis management, resource persons, and phone numbers of available hospital. Counseling is provided by researcher or by a pediatric psychiatrist if needed. Conclusion: This program could be adequately utilized for prevention of sexual abuse of children. It also will provide an intervention strategy for abused children. This educational program was distributed to all of the elementary school through the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development.

This research aims at proposing the space planning and architectural guideline required in designing the Science High School. It investigates specific features of the science high school which are distinguished from the general high school and analyses the compositional figure of teachers and students, the teaching methods and its educational curriculum, especially the revised educational curriculum in 2009. Meanwhile, it explores the administrative systems and facilities of the existing science high schools through both the document survey and on-the-spot interview. Such endeavor results in proposing the space classification, the space composition methods and a classroom managing system, which would be suited to the science high school. Finally it presents the architectural guidelines for planning the special subject learning area that is composed of a special subject classroom, a specified lab, medial space, a project and research room and teacher's room. The result of this study could be the fundamental resources for programming the special purposed high school as well as the science high school building.

Recently, Korea has been established and operated International Schools manifesting to improve the nation's capacity of the foreign languages skill and to cultivate internationally trained professional manpower. In order to achieve the vision of a world-class educational organization, it has to be designed for the facility standards to meet the international accreditation standards. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to research about basic resources through comparison of facility conditions between public schools in Korea and international accredited schools. By comparing those two different plan drawings are found the following things. First, Schools which established with International Accreditation Standard are prepared detailed criteria for the facility, Furthermore information about the furnishings included, in addition to specific equipments for classes are stated to be prepared. Secondly, it is more effective when special classrooms such as music and science are equipped with various spatial elements, enough educational equipment storage, teacher's study rooms, practical training rooms and student's activity rooms to support various teaching programs and learning efficiently. Lastly, there was a clear tendency that not only hardware but also software standards for the audiovisual room and library have been more enhanced to enable multidisciplinary educational approaches with the recent education training trend.

Part-time instructors are contributing to the production of excellent human resources through education and research, strengthening research competitiveness, and national and social knowledge and academic development. Therefore, academic and research information services for part-time instructors are essential for their educational and research activities. In this study, researcher suggested various methods for providing efficient educational and academic information services by surveying and analyzing their information environment, information needs, and educational and academic information recognition and usage behavior by applying the survey method to part-time instructors.

The purpose of this study is to construct an evaluation and improvement program of the spousal role in middle-aged rural couples. Based on the results of the previous survey conducted for the development of a program in 2001 and a review of previous research, this program consisted of four sessions, such as the history of my marriage-change and continuance, equal spouse role-individuation and integration, healthy role performance and communication, and the improvement of relations and the giving tree. Also the improvement indicators can be used as an educational tool for the educational program of the four sessions that were developed. The educational program was accomplished by giving lectures and activities for one hour per session. The effectiveness of the educational program on every role area except the economical role area was proved to be significant.
