  • As of August 2005, there are 9,007 facilities for public primary, middle and high schools in Korea. But because of depopulation, hereafter it is expected to allocate much more budget and interest to utilizing the existing facilities reasonably rather than new buildings construction. At present the maintenance of educational facilities is depend on not a preventive but a post preservation. And there is no established maintenance organization and system, which causes both facility deterioration and squandering of the nation's resources. Thus the object of this paper is to examine a maintenance system of established public school facilities and to improve the system which is enable to maximize the efficiency for the existing maintenance organization.

  • An impetus for reviving research in mathematical problem solving is the recent advance in methodological thinking, namely, the design experiment ([Gorard, S. (2004). Combining methods in educational research. Maidenhead, England: Open University Press.]; [Schoenfeld, A. H. (2009). Bridging the cultures of educational research and design. Educational Designer. 1(2). http://www.educationaldesigner.orgied/volume1/issue21]). This methodological approach supports a "re-design" of contextual elements to fulfil the overarching objective of making mathematical problem solving available to all students of mathematics. In problem solving, components critical to successful design in one setting that may be adapted to suit another setting include curriculum design, assessment strategy, teacher capacity, and instructional resources. In this paper, we describe the implementation, over three years, of a problem solving module into the main mathematics curriculum of an Integrated Programme school in Singapore which had sufficient autonomy to tailor-fit curriculum to their students.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the way how to improve the school green building certification system based on life cycle assessment methodology and to assess $LCCO_2$ in outline. Green Building Certification System for School is comprised of 7 categories and 39 items. 7 categories include Land use and Transport, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources, Water, Management, Ecology, Indoor environmental quality. School is a public facility for students. So Green Building Certification System for School must have educational point of view adding to energy saving, reduction of greenhouse gas emission, etc. Also it needs to be classified into three categories ; kindergarten, elementar/middl/high school and university. Improvement plans for items are as follows ; energy consumption and $LCCO_2$ assessment considering life cycle, deletion or integration of duplicate items by comparing other systems, application of passive solar systems, consideration of the law and standards change, and selection of items considering specific building use.

  • This paper is to analyse the major impact of the new era of information technology on the changes being made in physical environment of existing corporate training centers through the case of on- and off-line LG academies. By the analysis, some interesting features are to be found which can be a hint for the future planning and design of corporate training centers. Unlike the expectation in the early stage of changes, the rapid growth of on-line education forms a very strong partnership with the existing in-house training programs at all levels. Understanding of such key issues surrounding the use of facilities is specific to the formation of an effective environment for training programmes. After all aspects of the facility uses-not just the class rooms, but also the residential, dining, recreational, and support areas, as well as on-line type of educational services-are carefully examined, a design guideline is identified as considerations for guestrooms, classrooms, public facilities, the recreational areas, and the audio-visual provisions.

  • The current educational software usually has limitations of accessing and mutual communication. Networking Technology can overcome these limitations. Using Internet, students can access the educational resources easily and learning process can be monitored. In this study a virtual experiment program is developed for students to practice the basic electronic experiment, which is a fundamental subject in electronic department curriculum. Students can understand the basic theory and rules easily by simulated experimental process. Almost the same result is obtained as in real experiment because this program is made to simulate the real experiment. The virtual experiment site can be accessed easily by Internet and an experiment is performed based on individual basis without restriction of location and time. This program can be used as fully the real experiment substitution or supplementary educational materials. In both case, it provides many benefits in education.

  • This study is for rationalizing the collecting system of recycling waste materials in elementary, middle and high school in Incheon. The student participating in collecting system is so much helpful in env. educational aspect, So the students need to be took part in the system. The result on investigating actual condition of the student's participating of schools in Inchon City is not sufficient to be helpful to env. educational effect. 1st. The names of recycling waste can are so various that the students can's understand which can in for Recycling. 2nd. Collecting system is also very different according to schools. 3th. The incentives for student's participating in collecting process are also not sufficient. The conclusion is that the school should provide the students incentives for taking parts in the collecting process, in that actualizing the recycling process is helpful to env. education, and the another one in that we should remove the recycling ideology, which is the some belief, the more production is no problems, if recycling is activated socially. But this idea is evident error. In this aspect the concept of recycling should be changed from re-using to re-turning to nature.

  • This research was intended to have a grasp of the problems in physical education curriculum, After making an alternative plans of effective management. those were integrated and analyzed their own relations on the purpose of suggesting alternative plans to foster professionality of physical education teacher in order to improve real class of physical education. For this purpose, I referred to sundry records related with instruction of physical education teacher and also conducted a survey with 10 interviews such as researchers of central government education administration, and school commissioners in the ministry's provincial offices of education, professors in the university of pre-teacher training, and teachers involved in physical education. The conclusions were as follows; Physical education curriculum should be organized to reduce and diversify of the sport contents in various levels. Also, it should instruct students based on physical educational knowledge, and it is made up to know the achievement of goals through evaluation tools and development of rules having propriety and reliability. Such a physical educational curriculum developed from real class should inform continuously throughout the Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development and educational organization of physical education teachers and network of the school and mass media. So, it makes most people's recognition raise up, and we need discretionary authority of physical education teacher about time allocation of 45 minutes or 50 minutes for variety of lessons. And we need systematic installation such as reorganization of completion field in level of school.
