Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence healthcare providers' attitude towards end-of-life care (EOLC) in the emergency department (ED) in hospital settings. Methods: From June 1 through June 30, 2014, a descriptive correlational study was performed with 41 doctors and 105 nurses stationed in the ED. Results: According to a regression model on the factors affecting healthcare providers' professional attitude towards EOLC, 28.1% of variance (F=15.185, P=0.000) was explained by awareness of death, gender and personal attitude towards EOLC. And 34.1% of the healthcare providers' personal attitude was related with awareness of death, experience of hospice education, occupations and professional attitude towards EOLC. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that attitude towards EOLC was influenced by awareness of death and personal characteristics. Healthcare providers in the ED should be provided with tailored training to improve their understanding of death. Also an educational program should be developed and provided to ED healthcare providers to improve their awareness of death.

There have been much efforts to reconstruct the science curriculum focusing on Disciplinary Core Ideas(DCI) in many countries such as America and Europe, the most practical effort has been to design a curriculum with learning progressions(LPs). LPs describe stepwise how students can systematically move toward the understanding of more sophisticated ideas or scientific activities and explain in succession the process of understanding the ideas while the students learn. In this study, a LP for ecosystems has been developed, and the developed LP is then evaluated accordingly. The Ecosystem is one of the DCI of the life science in Next Generation Science Standards(NGSS). The development process of the LP was set at step 4(Development, Assessment, Analysis, and Amendment), and developed through an iterative process of sequences. As a result of analyzing the developed LP, an assessment based on the LP provides reliable information to identifying student ability. This study proposes the development process of the LP and its methodological aspects to use Core Achievement Standards, Ordered Multiple-Choice items and the Rasch model. In addition, using the empirically proven LP suggests a way of strengthening curriculum linked to educational content, teaching methods and assessment. Utilizing the proposed development process in this study will be to present the standard into the direction of becoming part of the curriculum. Currently, the state of domestic research for the LP is still lacking. This study determined the development process of the LP and the need to conduct future research on the LPs.

They go so far as to commit suicide because of failure in entering school. It becomes a social problem and it is rising more and more interested in entering school. The forest area of domestic is 6370304 ha, which covers 70% of the whole country, and especially Gangwon-do is remarkably larger than other Province. A thick forest of the country has the most basic component among other natural environments as well as it has invaluable worth to human being such as scientific research and educational value. However due to the breakout of forest fire since 1990s, the loss of trees, destruction of natural environment and ecology, economic damage have been occurring and its scale also has become larger. The causes of becoming larger in scale are resulted from forest components which mainly consist of needle leaf trees, wide leaf trees, fallen leaves, herbaceous plants so that it has been a direct cause for forest fire. However, few research on combustion and pyrolysis characteristics has been done in domestic and abroad. The study on the combustion and pyrolysis for Pinus densiflora which are typical needle leaf trees has been tried using TGA. Pinus desiflora started to being ignited at around $162^{\circ}C$ and pyrolysis was done at around $197^{\circ}C$. Differential method was applied to calculate activation energy and frequency factor according to the variation of conversion. Activation energy in pyrolysis was increased from 79 kJ/mol to 487 kJ/mol with increasing conversion and average activation energy was 195 kJ/mol. The activation energy in combustion was decreased from 148 kJ/mol to 133 kJ/mol.
Korean society is a mix of western and traditional cultures. Even though the patients try to recover through both aspects, hospital only utilizes a western approachs. When they have suffered from a chronic disease, especially diabeties meliitus(DM), application of folk medicine is more varied but the nurses are unaware of the practices. This study was done to describe the current use of the folk medicine with which the patients with DM have had an experience and to identify the relationships between the westernized medical care and folk medicine application. The 244 patients with non-insulin dependent diabetes millitus who participated were interviewed at a DM education clinic in a 1500-bed hospital. The results of the study are as follows: 1. 54.1%(N=133) of the participated patients in this study have had a folk medicine. 2. 44 kinds of folk medicine were used for the treatment of DM. Among them 14 items were used by more than two people and the rest were used by one person. Among the used items, 70.4% consisted of various types of plants, 11.4% was animal material and 18. 2% was the mixed group. As a single item, Commelina Communis(Dalgaebi) was the most frequently used(62.8%), followed by the root of Rosa rugosa(Haedangwha) 14.3%, and Youngi mushroom 13.6%. 3. In the analysis of the relationships between the general characters of the patients with regular fol1ow-up(F-U), self blood sugar test(BST) and folk medicine usage: 1) The higher the educational back ground patient had, the lower the folk medicine usage was ($X^2$=14.265, P=.003). 2) The more complex their treatment was($X^2$=24. 016. P=.000). and the longer they had suffered from DM($X^2$=75.739, P=.000), the fewer they visited regular F-U. On the other hand, they did self-BST well($X^2$=7.722, P=.021 : $X^2$=14. 775, P=.002) and had more folk medicine($X^2$=33.382, P=.000 ; $X^2$=43.410, P=.000). 3) If they had suffered many symptoms, they had fewer regular F-U ($X^2$=13.192. P=.001). On the other hand, they had more folk medicine($X^2$=6.070, P=.048). 4) The group of family history($X^2$=6.801. P=.009) and the group of DM education experience($X^2$=15.678, P=.000) carried out self BST well. DM education group used more folk medicine($X^2$=8.680, P=.003). In conclusion, DM education should be grouped according to the treatment type and suffering period. Then the management of DM would be effective and the vague application of folk medicine would be decreased.
This research conducted an empirical analysis of factors that influence the process of job choices and start-ups among the youth. By conducting a comparative analysis on 6 countries with adequate career systems and booming startup industries (China, Indonesia, the UK, Germany, Israel, the US.). The statistical sample is based on the Global Entrepreneurship Trend Ratio and covers a total of 7,082 youth across 7 countries. Multivariate variance analysis and correlational analysis were conductedto compare the average figures among different countries and analyze the regulation effect of parental influence. Job satisfaction, parental influence, and willingness to change future job were selected as the factors that influence job choices. Korea's job satisfaction was the lowest among 7 countries and a willingness to change future job was the highest. Meanwhile, Korea's parental influence was at a medium level among 7 countries. It was proven that job satisfaction had a quasi-control effect on the process of influencing willingness to change future job. Entrepreneurial education, willingness to start-up, job satisfaction, and parental influence were chosen as the factors that influence start-up. Two-way ANOVA were conducted to comparatively analyze each country's average, mutual influence among different factors, and analyze the regulation effect of parental influence. In all countries, start-up education has the effect of raising the willingness to start-up. Also, it was verified that parental influence had a quasi-control effect in the process of career satisfaction influencing the willingness to start-up. The research results will provide meaningful implications for the government and educational institutes including universities when designing policy directions to guide overall career for the youth in the future.
The purpose of this study was to analyze womens' health problems using Green & Kreuter's 1991 PRECEDE model and to develop a model for a womens' health care center located in the community. The subjects were recruited from Wonju City. 1. The results showed that 23% of the sample population felt there was a need for a womens' health care center. The mean number of health problems was 3.1. The prevalence rate, was 44.4%, and the rate for an artificial abortion, was 36.4%. Also 30.5% did not have a health examination in the past year. Women using the hospital for medical care accounted for 45% of the sample, while 40% used the drugstore. The average score on the HPLP was 2.41, and this was influenced by self-efficacy, family support, sexual role, and health locus of control. There are a few educational programs in the city provided by the Wonju Health Center and by community health nurse practitioners. 2. The nursing center, as defined in North America, is a nurse-anchored system of primary health care delivery or neighborhood health center. Centers offer various services ranging from primary care to the more traditional such as education, health promotion, wellness screening, and coordination of services by advanced practice nurses. For examples in Sweden MCH centers provide total services for childbearing women and their families, sexual counseling and education for adolescents, and screening by midwives for cervical cancer. 3. The developed model combines purpose, target population, organization, and services, and is related to health resources. The purpose is primary health care and promotion of the quality of life. The target population can be grouped according to the life cycle, (premarriaged age group, the childbearing/child rearing age group, and middle aged and elderly women) and focuses on self-help. The organization of the center includes an advisory committee to plan and evaluate, and a health services team that will be multidisciplinary to provide health care, counseling education, and research. The model development suggested that a variety of women's health care centers are needed to insure adequate management of women's health. Follow-up research using PROCEED is needed to analyze health outcomes. Also a health nursing specialist system is required to develop health promotion, and improve the quality of life of women.
The purpose of this research was to uncover the expertise of ICU nursing in Korea, and to describe nurses' practice based on the degree of skill acquisition. A total of 18 ICU nurses participated in the study. The data was collected through individual in-depth interviews and it was managed using the NUDIST 4.0 software program. The data was analyzed using interpretive phenomenology suggested by Benner. Four properties of expertise of ICU nursing were identified. These are 1) concern and love toward patients; 2) knowledge; 3) skill, and 4) abilities in interpersonal relationships. And the characterisitcs of four levels of skill acquisition, that is advanced beginner, competent, proficient, and expert, were described with exemplars. The results of this study might help nurse researchers clarify and elaborate on the concept of expertise in ICU nursing, and enable them to understand how the process of skill acquisition occurs in the ICU setting. They might also help nurse managers establish educational goals for ICU nursing for student or novice nurses.
This study analysed inquiry process and activities of the inquiry area in the chemistry field of middle school science textbooks by the inquiry elements based on the 7th science curriculum. The purpose of this study is to grasp a degree of reflecting the 7th science curriculum in the 9th grade science textbooks, and to find out educational implications for the various inquiry learning. Overall, for the analysis of inquiry elements, basic inquiry elements except classification were well reflected on the middle school science textbooks in 9th grade. However, for the integrated inquiry elements, interpreting data occupies almost half of them. This phenomenon is shown in the analysis of inquiry process and inquiry activities, as well. Especially, project and field trip introduced in the 7th science curriculum are hardly found in the textbooks. 9th grade is classified as an upper grade in the 7th science curriculum in terms of inquiry level. Integrated inquiry elements and inquiry activity types, however, are not thoroughly reflected in the 9th grade science textbooks. It is desirable that a variety of inquiry learning of 9th grade be implemented by reconstructing inquiry area based on the results of this study. Hence the degree and ratio of utilizing the integrated inquiry elements and inquiry activity types to the inquiry area of science textbook in 9th grade should be studied.
This study examined the status of apartment housing based on the problems of noise and smoking between floors and tried to reflective reconsideration to practice the etiquette of apartment buildings by analyzing their perceptions with big data. The research results are as follows. First, it was confirmed that laws and systems were in place to prevent and solve problems of noise between floors and smoking between floors. Second, local governments and apartments are seeking to solve problems through various activities, but we could see that the problems mentioned above continue to increase. The third, big data analysis results showed that people were divided into four groups of awareness of noise and smoking. Fourth, we could see that the etiquette of apartment housing to solve these problems should presuppose improvement of perception and practicality. We proposed three categories to solve the problem. First, we should practice decorum following changes in the living environment. Therefore, I suggest that continuous research and etiquette book should be published. Second, I think the spirit of mutual respect and consideration is necessary, and suggest the autonomous attention and effort of residents living in apartments. Third, I hope that the etiquette education of apartments will be made in apartments or various educational sites and spread to the culture of living.
