  • Unplanned growth of the city was established, despite many elementary, School facilities outside the city is still lacking. Basically should be able to walk to school through elementary school in the case of excessive distance, issues such as unsafe in the school environment and the school, overcrowding, excessive relieve classroom learning environment, with the improvement of the overall situation is necessary. In this study, the status for local public elementary school environment, research and analysis, case studies, research, and through community and resolve problems derived as a school bus for the introduction of alternative feasibility analysis.

  • Most existing research into the metacognitive approach in mathematics learning has been concentrated mainly in the study of phenomena of metacognitive (including the affective) behaviour in the context of mathematical problem solving or more broadly mathematical content-elated learning. However, this study originally constructs the concept of "macroscopic metacognition" which could be differentiated with general metacognition, and draws out macroscopic-metacognitive factors among the elementary and middle school students through individual interview. Questionnaire research is executed to find out how the macroscopic metacognition is included into the students' mathematics learning and the relationship between their mathematics learning accomplishment and macroscopic metacognition. Thus, a considerable degree of the positive relationship between these two variables was found out.

  • This research investigated students' interaction in the environment with dynamic geometry software such as Cabri II, and GSP in order to understand and analyze why computer environment is a richer interaction field for developing children's explorative ability than other traditional paper-and-pencil environments. This research focused on 5th graders' interaction with topics of transformational geometry and similar figure and analyzed children's learning process and their interview results gotten through audio and video recording. Computer exploration with a dynamic software seems to be very helpful for elementary students to learn geometry. However, the effectiveness of the computer should be discussed with respected to its methodological validity of teachers to guide students' explorative activities with a dynamic software.

  • One of important topics in mathematics education research is communication. Mathematical communication consists of writing, reading, listening and speaking. But, research on reading has not yet to have a commensurate emphasis, despite important changes that have occurred in the theory and practice of communication. This study is intended to search for reading in school mathematics. First, we explore theories of reading and reading instruction. Second, the factors involved in reading are examined. These factors are learners, texts and teachers. Third, we provide a variety of reading strategies that are reading and enacting strategy, reconstructing strategy, presupposing strategy, becoming an author strategy, sketch to stretch strategy and reading- cooperative learning strategy. They will help students to foster students' mathematical ability as well as reading skill.

  • The results of this study, suggest public communication to promote the use of radiation as follows: first, suitable information for the recipient's perception patterns should be provided, as there is a difference in risk perception and acceptance between the experts and the public. Thus, information on the necessity of nuclear power should be provided to the public, while information based on technical risks is provided by the experts. Second, since the levels of perception, knowledge, and attitudes increased highly for sectors which use radiation after the class, classes should be provided continuously to increase students' perception, knowledge, and attitude, which are all preemptive variables which induce positive behavioral changes. Third, since the seven sectors which use radiation are highly correlated, arguments for the necessity of other sectors should be based on the necessity of the medical sector.

  • Recently, it is throwing the spotlight on environment-friendly architecture for preservation of the global environment throughout the world. At this point in time, home products to have Eco-label in architecture materials is increasing constantly and the demand of environment-friendly building and material is rising. The purpose of this study is to propose a way of development through analysis about necessity and concept of environment-friendly architecture and research into institution and standard for certification of environment-friendly building materials. So, it will make exactly progress to this study that is based on analysis and research of periodical publications, theses, reports of journal and data of the advanced country about environment-friendly architecture.

  • The purpose of our study is to explore dynamic mechanisms within families and self-authored decisions among Korean female college students. In particular, we investigated how parent-child interactions influence the development of self-authorship and self-authored decisions within Korean culture through interviews with 14 female college students. Results showed unique cultural influences on how female college students interacted with parents and interpreted and reflected parents' opinions in their self-authored decisions. These results suggest further research on gender differences and complex family influences on self-authored decisions within cultural contexts.

  • This study is a literature research on critical mathematics education. In this study, we analyzed the literature about critical theory and critical education, especially focused on Freire's educational works. And also, we reviewed studies and lesson examples about critical mathematics education. The purpose of this research is to improve understanding about critical mathematics education. We found the connection between the goals, teaching methods and contents of critical mathematics education and Freire's theory of critical pedagogy. Critical mathematics lessons stimulated student's sense of social agency and induced student's inquiry. Critical mathematics education has a merit on aspect of mathematical connection and communication by adopting social issues and student's discussion in mathematics lessons. Although there are many obstacles to overcome, critical mathematics education is one of the educational direction to seek.

  • Elementary school is the beginning step of personal relationships. However, the recent social phenomenon shows that the communication and intimate fellowship between the children are decreasing. This is due to the increase in Internet uses their parents' excessive protection caused by a low birthrate. School performs an important role in educating and socializing students. Students get intellectual and emotional satisfactions while they spend most of a day there. This research is aimed to understand cultural school environment for students, to help socializing and to improve the necessary cultural environment. Also, this research has guided to the understanding of the expanded socializtion, including improving school cultural environment for students and has presente the direction to improve the necessary cultural environment. The next was obtained from a survey of Elementary school students.
