This is an experimental regional development program for non-Capital regions. State-owned corporations and public agencies are going to be relocated in the cities. Whether the employees will settle down in Naju with their families is the main research question in this paper. The result of the survey shows that more than half of the respondents are not going to settle down with their families. They are not optimistic about the present and future of the city either. • Background : Little work has been carried out regarding quality assessment research in a primary care setting, comparing with that of hospitals. This study aims to evaluate the process of diagnosis and management of hypertension by public health doctors on the basis of pre-established clinical guideline, and to identify several modifying factors associated with them. Methods : Hypertension was selected as the target disease, because it is a chronic disease which is of great public health importance. Self-administered questionnaires were mailed to public health doctors practicing at health centers and health subcenters across the nation. The response rate was 20.9%. The questionnaire included the diagnosis and management process such as measuring blood pressure, history taking, physical examinations, and treatment approches and potentially modifying factors such as level of training, duration of practice as a public health doctor, and education on management of hypertension. Results : Public health doctors pay little attention in measuring BP, hypertension related history taking, performing physical examination and laboratory examination. But they devoted much effort in diagnosing hypertension exactly and giving nonpharmacological treatment. Among various antihypertensive drugs, calcium-channel blockers were the most preferred agent(50.9%). Level of training, duration of practice ad a public health doctor, and education on management of hypertension made no difference on quality of care(p>0.05). Conclusion : These public health doctors showed poor compliance with the pre-established clinical guidelines, which leaves much to be desired in diagnosing and managing hypertensive patients by public health doctors. This study might be able to contribute to develop some strategies, such as educational programs, which would be able to improve the process of care in hypertensives.

  • The research is centered towards analyzing the differentiation of the characteristics and organization of programming strategy and channel positioning by selecting Korean International Public Relations Broadcasting Stations Arirang TV and KBS World. According to the results, Arirang TV positions Korean culture content-implied educational programs as their strategy while KBS World places the main programs of KBS1, 2TV with many entertainment programs such as dramas and entertainment shows. Arirang TV's programming strategy is well-fulfilling the purpose of promoting Korea's culture contents by organizing their programming with documentaries, tourist information, and daily living information. On the other hand, KBS World works as the agent of the spread of the Korean Wave by filling their program with dramas and K-pop programs such as . Due to the difference in programming strategy of these two broadcasting stations, Arirang TV has positioned itself as a diplomatic channel to spread Korean culture and KBS World a channel representing the Korean Wave. However, there are problems of inefficiency due to recurrent investments because of the fact that both broadcasting stations' programming strategy is to promote Korean culture and spread the Korean Wave by aiming similar targets such as foreigners or overseas Koreans.

  • Along with the rapid diffusion of smart devices, smart learning has been taking place as a main pedagogy in education. Under these drastic changing circumstances, social presence and interaction between learners have been highlighted as key factors in educational research. In this light of rising importance, this study examined the effects of modality and smart device on users' perceived social presence and interaction experience in a smart learning environment. It conducted 2(text based interface vs. audio/video based interface) by 2(smartphone vs. tablet PC) between-subjects experiment. 80 participants were systematically recruited and randomly assigned to four conditions. The findings showed that social presence was higher in audio/video based interface condition than in text based interface condition. Modality also had a positive effect on learner's interaction experience. On the other hand, the effect of smart device is found to be statistically insignificant. Instead, interaction effect existed between modality and device on social presence. The result of this study suggests that the modality and characteristics of device should be considered seriously when designing interface of smart learning contents. The findings in this study provide future studies with heuristic implications by highlighting users' perceived cognition and experience.

  • This study conducted a questionnaire survey on 155 dental hygienists in Busan, Gyeongnam to understand the effect of dental hygienists' job identity on job retention. The study was conducted after being reviewed by the Research Ethics Review Committee (1041449-201912-HR-003). For data analysis, hierarchical regression analysis was carried out to check the effect of three details of job identity on job retention step by step. As a result, among the details of job identity, there was an influence on job retention in the order of empathy for the job (β=.358, p<.001), relationship between job and individual (β=.562, p<.001), and work and unity (β=.562, p<.001). Therefore, it is judged that it would be helpful to maintain a job if the educational institution with the Department of Dental Hygiene conducts classes on occupational identity in a more comprehensive sense.

  • This paper investigates morphological theory as an intellectual framework for research and design. The first part of the paper will review morphological studies in the fields of urban geography, urban planning and architecture, particularly in England from the 1940s to the 1980s. While urban geographers and planners were concerned primarily with town plans, building forms and land use, architectural theoreticians were more interested in the topological relationship between urban and architectural space. The underlying premises and principles of these two approaches will be reviewed. The second part of the paper will focus on typology in Europe and North America. The reinterpretation of typology by Italian architects helped to bridge the gap between individual elements of architecture and the overall form of the city. However, typological theory became less accessible in post-war England and the United States. After 1980, the debate on typology became muted by the onset of vague notions such as functionalism, bio-technical determinism, and contextualism. This paper will propose a redefinition of morphology as a heuristic device, in contrast with the dichotomic view of urban morphology and architectural typology. Morphology will be shown to combine the geometrical and topological; the intentional and accidental; the real and abstract; and a priori and a posteriori. The last part of the paper discusses the lack of comparative theories and methods surrounding the physical form of architecture and the city by Korea commentators. Empirically rooted facility planning, non-comparative historical studies, and iconographic criticism emerged as a central preoccupation of architectural culture between the 1960s and 1980s, a time when international debate on architecture and urbanism was most intense. This paper will give consideration to the built environment as a dynamic physical entity and space as an epiphenomenon of daily urban life, such that collaboration between urban designers, architects, and landscape architects is seen as both beneficial and necessary.
