Objectives: The new educational system emphasizes acquisition of clinical competency by the time of graduation from Korean medicine colleges that allow Korean medicine doctors to immediately perform clinical tasks. This study investigated awareness of competency-based education in Korean medicine hospital residents who must simultaneously undergo training and assist medical students in clinical practice. Methods: This was a qualitative research that was conducted using focus group interviews (FGIs) to investigate the awareness of demands for improvement in competency-based Korean medicine education in Korean medicine hospital. To apply the principles and procedures of FGIs, a semi-structured questionnaire was developed. Data analysis was conducted using the five steps of framework analysis. Results: According to contents analysis, first competency-based education that reflects actual clinical practice tasks is needed. Second, sufficient basic skill mastery education must be reinforced. Third, an intermediate curriculum that mediates clinical practice and basic education is needed. Fourth, the Objective Structured Clinical Examination and Clinical Performance Examination must be expanded to prepare for the Korean medicine doctor practical test. Conclusions: Korean medicine residents reported the gap between clinical practice and use of knowledge and skills acquired in the curriculum while acting as direct observers and educations of clinical clerkship in hospitals. Based on this exploratory study it is necessary to conduct research on the educational competency of Korean medicine residents who play an important role as educational leaders in Korean medicine clinical practice training.

Purpose : This study is aimed to develop and validate the clinical practice education program and clinical competence scale of occupational therapy student. Methods : The development of the clinical practice education program used the delphi technique method, which had a total of five steps. Based on the occupational therapist's job analysis, the first stage assessed the importance of 21 experts, and the second stage examined the importance of 19 new specialists to derive constitutive factors. In the third stage, in-depth interviews were conducted with three experts based on the derived factors, and in the fourth stage, the final clinical practice education program was derived. In the final stage, the details of the clinical training program were drawn up based on the themes and were reviewed by two experts. Structured and unstructured interviews were conducted with 43 job experts. Results : The expert survey through the delphi technique was conducted three times, and content analysis and descriptive statistics were conducted to examine the distribution of responses. The final 11 educational program topics and contents were derived. Topics are confirmation of client information, evaluation and intervention, cognitive therapy, spinal cord injury, brain injury, musculoskeletal disorders, pediatric occupational therapy, interventions in activities of daily living, driving rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation, occupational therapy assessment tool, safety training and management. Conclusion : The clinical practice education program reduce the difference between school education and clinical education of occupational therapy student. Occupational therapy helps college student understand occupational therapy practices and improve the quality of clinical education. Through more research and supplementation of clinical practice education programs in the future, it is suggested that clinical practice education be successfully operated in various practice institutions and used as basic data for designing and evaluating useful educational models.

Purpose : This study aims to review the physical therapy training programs in the United States, Canada, Taiwan, and Japan, and propose standardization plan for clinical practice in physical therapy education to advance the development of physical therapy education in South Korea. Methods : This study investigates the clinical practice standards in advanced countries such as the United States and Canada, and refers to the clinical practice standards in Taiwan and Japan, which are members of the association of world phyisotherapy and have economic, cultural, educational, and healthcare delivery systems, as well as legal systems, similar to those of South Korea. Results : In the United States, physical therapy education programs allocate an average of 22 weeks and 880 hours for clinical practice. Foreign-trained physical therapists who wish to take the licensure exam in the United States must have their educational programs reviewed and recognized as having completed at least 1,000 hours of clinical practice. In Canada, physical therapy education programs allocate an average of 31 weeks and 1,240 hours for clinical practice. Taiwan allocates over 1,440 hours of clinical practice in its educational programs, while Japan requires 800 hours of clinical practice as a legal prerequisite for the licensure exam. Conclusion : Based on the results of this study, the following standardization plan for clinical practice of the physical therapy education in South Korea are proposed. First, a minimum of 16 weeks and 640 hours of clinical practice is necessary to produce competent physical therapists. Second, university-based basic practical training should be at least 440 hours, with the introduction of a standardized accreditation system and unification of the four-year academic system. Third, the qualifications of physical therapists who supervise clinical practice in medical institutions should be clearly defined in the curriculum, and the standards for clinical practice instructors need to be expanded.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the degree of safety education requirement in child daycare center teachers. Method: The data using questionnaire were collected from eight child daycare centers located in Seoul, Gyounggi-Do, and Kwangwon-Do. Final participants were 133 child daycare center teachers. Results: The degree of safety education requirement were as follows: education need of safety knowledge ($4.26{\pm}.50$), safety education need of daycare center ($3.29{\pm}.60$), recognition about safety education training ($3.94{\pm}.58$), and confidence of safety care practice ($2.75{\pm}.43$). There is significant correlation between education need of safety knowledge and safety education need of daycare center (r=.495, p<.001), education need of safety knowledge and recognition about safety education training (r=.555, p<.001), education need of safety knowledge and confidence of safety care practice (r=.201, p=.020), safety education need of daycare center and recognition about safety education training (r=.464, p<.001), and recognition about safety education training and confidence of safety care practice (r=.187, p=.032). Conclusion: On this study, child daycare center teachers' safety education requirement was relatively high. It is recommended that safety education for them should be done for children's healthy life.
This study shows the current management status and the results of B University's multicultural creative-HR team's voice training supporters' preparation course that is part of the local funding project at the university. For this, the concept of voice training and educational contents of the multicultural members are first extracted from several documents. Then, a description of the management case of B University's voice training supporters' education course is given regarding the goals, operator of management, propulsion progress, and contents of previous education. For analyzing the management results of this work, in-depth interviews with the supporters and a half-structured survey are conducted with the voice academy main instructors. Moreover, reports of the work results, work journals of supporters and etc. are used for analyzing the results. According to the results of this analysis, the aspect of education, previous education contents, and teaching practicum are not organically connected. A more detailed curriculum about the comprehension ability of practical affairs is needed for managing a classroom. In aspect of management, the preparatory stage of voice training course and the practice stage were not linked, and thus, more cooperation is required with the main instructors. Although the results are limited, the voice training of the supporters' training course has its implications. First, the education of Korean pronunciation and intonation are provided for the supporters, thereby being able to facilitate learner-centered education. Second, it demonstrates in an empirical case that a class can be administered by specializing in Korean pronunciation and intonation. At last, it can provide a chance to practice teaching and offer field experience for students who have a Korean education major.
Experiential education is a core curriculum of 6-year pharmacy education. Practicing pharmacists lie at the heart of experiential education serving as preceptors for undergraduate pharmacy students during experiential education. Preceptors are, however, confronted with a challenge of caring for patients and teaching students at the same time in a time-constrained environment. To improve the effectiveness and outcomes of experiential education, practicing pharmacists are required to demonstrate educational competence. Even small teaching moments can provide students with valuable learning opportunities that they could not have from on their own. Thus, it is vital to provide education and training for preceptors to advance their teaching skills. This article will describe practical and effective teaching skills that preceptors could adopt in the experiential education for pharmacy students. It is important that preceptors should use different teaching skills for different learners, according to their level of experience and knowledge, learning styles and needs, as well as the type of the practice. Therefore, possessing diverse teaching skills provides flexibility to adapt teaching to each student's learning levels and needs, and to the charateristics of the practice environment. Preceptors' level of confidence and comfort in using teaching skills can be enhanced through continuous practice and training, which consequently leads to the improved effectiveness of experiential education and student's satisfaction with the education.

The purpose of this study is to determine the between nursing students simulation pratice education experience, clinical practice satisfaction, problem-solving ability, and clinical performance ability. The research design was a descriptive correlational study, and the participants were third-year nursing students. A total of 197 people were involved, including 95 students from a university with simulation training in the curriculum and 102 students from a university without simulation training in the curriculum. It was composed. Frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, independent t-test, and pearson correlation were used to analyze the collected data. As a result of the study, nursing students who had experience in simulation practice education showed significant differences in clinical practice satisfaction and clinical performance ability during clinical practice. However, there was no significant difference in problem-solving ability. In addition, it was confirmed that there was a correlation between simulation training experience, clinical practice satisfaction, and clinical performance ability. Based on the results of this study, it will be possible to develop and utilize simulation education programs in various situations to increase the effectiveness of clinical practice for nursing students.
The purpose of this study is to empirically verify whether there are differences according to group characteristics in the effect of job characteristic requirements on practice performance in university long-term on-site training. Specifically, the relationship between job characteristics (job scope, job content, coaching, benefits), practical satisfaction, and occupational competencies was examined according to the group characteristics (gender types, major types, corporation types). For this purpose, the survey data were collected and analyzed for 752 students who participated in K university long-term on-site training. As a result of the analysis, first, it was found that the job characteristics (job scope job content, coaching, benefits) had structural relationship affecting occupational competence through mediation of practice satisfaction. Second, As for the differences according to the group characteristics, there were differences in the relations. Based on the result, theoretical and practical implications and follow-up studies were proposed.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the educational effect among nursing students who performed the patient role in women's health nursing simulations. Methods: In this exploratory qualitative study, a sample of 31 third- and fourth-grade nursing students who participated in scenario-based patient roles in clinical performance examination of the women's health nursing simulation practice training. Data were collected through focus group interviews. Qualitative data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results: Three themes emerged from the data analysis. Participants experienced an enhancement of patient-centered nursing competence, deep learning immersion and display of self-regulated learning. The difficulty of performing the patient role contributed additional effects such as the difficulty to perform the patient role in the psychological training environment. Conclusion: It is recommended to utilize nursing students as patients in simulation practice training. On the other hand, the psychological training environment can cause difficulties in performing patient roles, a burden on the role of the patient, and involves the interruption of the role.

This study was tried to investigate the effectiveness of assertive training on the state anxiety and assertive behavior which nursing students had experienced during clinical practice training from April 29, to June 5, 2000. Subjects for this study were thirty-six nursing students of practicing in a general hospital. Eighteen nursing students were assigned for the experimental group and trained by assertive training program during 4 weeks and eighteen nursing students were assigned for the control group. The assertive training program was composed of cognitive, behavioral and emotional assertive training. Post- test assessment was administrated to all subjects on a week later after the last session. The data were analyzed with SPSS PC programs. The results of this study were summarized as follows: 1) There were no significant differences between the experimental group and the control group on post- intervention comparisons of the state anxiety score (p=0.230), but in the experimental group, the anxiety score more decreased after the assertive training than that in the control group with significant differences(p=0.019). 2) There were no significant differences between the experimental group and the control group on post- intervention comparisons of assertive behavior (p=0.530). However, after the assertive training, the experimental group became more assertive than the control group with no significant differences(p=0.721). 3) The hypothesis that the more the assertive behavior, the less the state anxiety experienced by nursing students of clinical practice training was supported(r=-0.397, p=0.017). On the basis of this study results, the assertive training is effective for the reduction of the state anxiety experienced by nursing students of clinical practice training.
