Recently, in terms of the future education, the need of the software education according to the 4th industrial revolution and the need of the ESG(environmental, social and governance) education according to social requests for sustainability are increasing at the same time. There may be a number of ways to satisfy the needs at the same time. In this paper, as an effort for meaningful implementation of the future education, a case study on the ESG engineering education based on the software education for community youth was analyzed and a future development direction was suggested. This ESG engineering education deals with the development and application of the program considering terms of target, method and implementation in order to enhance its systematicity and using physical computing and upcycling methods and a collaborative education support system. To verify the education program, a survey is performed and analyzed. Through this, the basis of an software education-based ESG engineering education model was established.
This paper presents direction for efficient software education. Due to the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the whole world is interested in software education. However, simply teaching how to code is not software education. The thinking abilities used in coding for software implementation are even more important. Therefore, computational thinking is getting great attention. Several institutions suggest factors for computational thinking and encourage to teach in a relevant way based on the suggestion. In this study, the verification of the factors they suggested was conducted through a questionnaire. The total of 419 freshman students of the College of Social Sciences who were taking "Computational Thinking and Software Coding" class participated in the survey at the beginning and the end of the semester. We first analyzed Wing's proposal that summarized the concept of computational thinking, and reviewed the proposal of ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) for defining computational thinking factors for coding education, also checked on the suggestion of Google for factors necessary for software coding. As a result of research analysis, this paper suggests a direction for efficient software education.

In accordance with the 2015 Revised Practical Curriculum, software education for elementary school students will focus on making software and not using software. Therefore, we must revise the computer education curriculum at national universities of education to include classes on programming. In this study, I surveyed computer education students to learn more about their programming experience as well as their understanding of and necessity for software education. Based on results of the survey, I found that students had a strong understanding of software education and that they recognized its importance; however, students who had not experience related to programming education had a weak the understanding and necessity for software developing education. I suggested that software-related courses should open as a major subjects at the universities.

In view of the educational effects and social changes of software education, equal opportunities for software education are needed regardless of general students and students with disabilities. However, studies on software education for general students have been actively conducted, but studies on software education for students with disabilities are insufficient. In this study, we developed a robot education software education program for students with developmental disabilities. Developing robot-enabled software education programs for students with developmental disabilities is meaningful in terms of expanding software education opportunities for all. In addition, the robot-based software education program is easy to motivate students with developmental disabilities with low task concentration, short-term memory, and low sociality. Significant changes will be made not only in terms of management capacity, but also in terms of self-efficacy and confidence.

With more emphasis on importance of software, many countries try to provide software education. Of course Korea includes informatics courses in 2015 revised curriculum, so that software education will be administered briskly in soon. However there are practical challenges including a lack of teaching hour in classes and the monotony of educational contents which occurs with that. To solve these problems, this research develop software education curriculum model that could be practically used for both middle and high school. First this study compare the curriculum of Korea to that of United States and United Kingdom. After analyzing the result, the curriculum model for middle and high school is developed. The curriculum model can be classified into three types, middle, high and advanced-high levels and include key concepts like collaboration and convergence, computational thinking, computing practice and programming, computers and communications devices, community, global, and ethical impacts. To assess the feasibility of our software education curriculum model, examination was made by expert group and a hearing was held by related researchers. Then the model was modified in a way that adjustable to Korea education system. This study provides some important guidances on designing a curriculum for software education at middle and high school. However, there still are difficulty adjusting to the elementary school and university course. To be able to further research, same kind of studies on elementary school and university course need to be done. Also, continuous modifications are required to reflect reality including technological advance, curriculum, and changes of education system.

Software Education will be implemented at elementary, middle and high schools starting in 2018. The goal of software education is to help students develop Computational thinking skills. Especially, using robots in software education increases student interest and helps to increase creativity. In order for software education using robots to be effective, education for teachers should be effective. The development of effective education contents for preliminary teachers can be said to be the success of software education. By the way, effective education can be said to begin with an accurate analysis of the subjects. In order to develop an effective curriculum for preliminary teachers, it is necessary to grasp the level of preliminary teachers who will carry out the software education using robots. Therefore, in this paper, we surveyed the experiences, levels and perceptions of preliminary teachers to help develop software education curriculum using robots.

Finland is referred to the country which is conducting the most advanced education in the world with the excellent education policy and the outstanding education system. Historical background and geographical environment of between Finland and Korea is similar in many ways, since the lack of resources, Finland has focused on the fostering the human resources for the growth of the country like Korea. However, because of the recent PISA in 2012 indicated a sharp declined result than before, pointed out the lack of computer related education and national level implementation strategies for a software education of neighboring countries, the discussion on software education in Finland is increased. Thus, the coming 2016 year become a significant year to bring up the opportunity for national growth through software education, Finland government prepared the software education curriculum as a national common required curriculum which will be implemented from elementary school. In this study, we will look through the background of Finland's software education and curriculum, we are going to suggest which might be helpful to set the direction of software education curriculum.

In this paper, we suggest a method utilizing OSHW(Open Source HardWare) in order to raise up students who are competent in IT convergence and integration as a basic research to improve the university software education. Software education cannot be too much emphasized in the age of big change of Fourth Industrial Revolution. It hardly seems to have changes in the software education area of university where has to train competent technicians to be deployed into the industrial field, although software education is planned even in elementary, middle, and high school. In this situation, we expect that utilizing OSHW in software education can result in gaining a meaningful effect. However, we don't have various and systemic approach which use it as a education system component, unlike the response and necessity OSHW market. Therefore in this paper we suggest models which constitute software education environment based on OSHW and exemplify how to use it in each model. In addition, we compare and analyze each model in order to give a criteria to choice one of them according to the condition.
As the interest in software education grew, the Ministry of Education was also required to provide software education for practical course of grades 5-6. In this study, learner-centered evaluation was applied to software education to analyze its effectiveness. It is hoped that many teachers will apply learner-centered evaluation to software education to become more effective software education in school. In a learner-centered evaluation, students can expect positive effects by actively participating in classes and engaging in active learning activities. Through learner-centered evaluation, we have taken into account the various background variables to see how students' three aspects, creativity, problem-solving ability and information-use ability change, and how learner-centered evaluation affects these abilities in software education. The result of research have shown that in software education, learner-centered evaluations have all had significant effects on creativity, problem-solving ability and information-use ability, as well as the existence of entry/scratch study experience.
As the importance of software and artificial education is emphasized on the digital transformation era, various educational materials are being developed and distributed. To achieve the purpose of software education, various software education programs suitable for school settings need to be provided. In this paper, we developed a software education program using self-driving that can be applied to secondary school software education and applied it to secondary school students. The developed software education program is a physical computing program consisting of various motion control programs such as object detection, line tracing using various sensors, focusing on experience and practice. As a result of the survey, students' attitudes and career orientation toward software and artificial intelligence, and satisfaction with software education were over 90%, and satisfaction with the proposed program was over 95%.
