The purpose of this study was to examine the health status of the daughter and daughter- in-law caregivers who care for a cognitively and/or functionally impaired elderly, individual to identify factors that were related to reported health outcomes, and to investigate the negative and positive impacts of family caregiving. Data was collected from 120 daughter and daughter-in-law caregivers and care-recipients using face to face interviews. Most caregivers were daughters- in-law (77.5%) and most care-recipients were female (88.3%). Sixty-eight percent (n=81) of caregivers reported depressive symptomatology. General health also deteriorated by caregiving. Caregivers reported several negative impacts (difficulties): care-recipients' problematic behaviors, deterioration of their own health, pressure from social norms related to family caregiving in Korea, intrafamily conflict, and economic problems. Contrary to the popular belief, caregivers reported diverse positive impacts of family caregiving (68.3%): a sense of filial responsibilities, recognition from elderly, family members, relatives, and society, education for the children, and familial harmony. Higher depression score was predicted by lower family income, the presence of cognitive impairment of care-recipients, and higher level of social conflict of caregivers. Poor general health of caregivers was predicted by older caregivers' age, lower competing roles of caregivers, and poor emotional health. While not seeking to deny the negative aspects of family caregiving, it is also necessary to understand positive aspects of family caregiving to see complete picture of caring for an elderly family member.

대학의 새로운 책무로서 지역사회 공헌이 중요한 이슈로 부각됨에 따라 해외 대학들은 이를 지표화하여 자체 평가 및 대외 홍보에 적극적으로 활용하고 있다. 최근에 한국의 대학들도 대학 자원 이용을 확대하고 대학과 지역의 민관 단체 및 기업들과의 협력을 강화하기 위한 여러 사업들을 추진하고 있으나 맹아기에 머물고 있는 수준이다. 이에 본 연구는 대학이 지역에 미치는 사회경제적 영향에 대한 외국 대학 및 기관의 적용 사례를 분석하고, 이를 토대로 한국 대학에 적용 가능한 평가 지표를 발굴하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 정부 및 독립 기구 차원에서 대학이 지역에 미치는 영향을 종합적으로 분석한 대표 사례인 영국고등교육위원회(HEFCE)가 수행한 대학 지역 영향 평가에 대해 고찰하고, 다양한 지표를 활용하여 대학의 지역 영향에 대한 백서를 발간하고 있는 북미와 유럽의 대표적인 대학인 미국 로체스터 대학과 영국 버밍엄 대학의 사례 분석을 통해, 한국의 대학에 적용가능한 공통 지표를 추출하였다. 그 결과, 대학의 지역 영향 평가 지표로 6개 분야(경제적 영향, 연구, 교육, 문화예술봉사, 지역발전, 대학 특성화)에 24개 항목을 도출하였다. 이 지표들은 대학정보공시서비스인 '대학알리미'와 대학별 보유 자료를 통해 확보 가능하여, 한국 대학에 적용 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

관광은 세계적으로 급속도로 성장하는 가장 큰 산업 중의 하나이며, 수많은 개도국과 선진국들에서도 중추 산업으로 자리 잡고 있으며, 많은 국가에 있어서 자국의 소득수입, 일자리창출, 국가재정 수입의 중요한 원천으로 역할을 하고 있다. 그러나 이처럼 관광산업의 급격한 확대로 인하여, 여러 관광지역에서 환경파괴적인 측면과 사회문화적인 측면의 영향을 야기해 왔다. 관광과 마찬가지로, 크루즈관광의 급속한 성장 또한 크루즈선 기항지지역의 환경적 문화적 자원에 큰 영향을 주었다. 본 연구를 통해서 연구자는 지속가능한 관광인프라를 구축하는데 있어서 크루즈관광으로 인해 발생되는 국내외적인 환경적인 영향을 최소화시킬 수 있는 방안을 고찰하는데 논의의 초점을 두고자하였다.

Carbon pricing is in the spotlight as an economically efficient policy to limit global warming and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We examine how policymakers can improve social acceptance of a carbon tax, which is the main obstacle in implementing the policy. We conduct a survey experiment to analyze this topic and adopt two different interventions focusing on the use of revenue from a carbon tax and types of information to be provided. Regarding revenue use, we consider 1) tax reductions, 2) lump-sum transfers, and 3) green project investments. For information types, we focus on 1) the economic value of a carbon tax, and 2) the environmental value of a carbon tax. We find that lump-sum transfers have negative impacts on social acceptance of a carbon tax. For those who perceive climate change as a serious issue, moreover, both lump-sum transfers and tax reductions have negative impacts on acceptability. Regardless of the type of information provided, on the other hand, the social acceptance of a carbon tax is increased after the provision of information. Furthermore, the impact of information provision on the social acceptance interacts with the revenue use impacts. When the revenue use and the type of information are consistent with the aim of the policy, the effects of these strategies can be amplified.

항만 개발·운영 정책의 수용성을 제고하기 위해서는 항만의 개발과 운영으로 인해 항만인근지역 주민들의 항만에 대한 인식이나 삶의 질이 어떻게 개선되었는지를 밝히는 것이 중요함에도 불구하고 이러한 연구는 전무한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 부산항 신항 인근 지역의 다양한 이해관계자 대면인터뷰를 통하여 부산항 신항이 인근 지역에 미친 사회경제적 영향을 파악하고자 한다. 체계적인 인터뷰 진행을 위하여 이해관계자별 Semi-Structured 인터뷰지를 미리 준비하여, 인터뷰 중에 새롭게 나타나는 점에 대해서는 추가 질문을 하는 방식으로 진행하였다. 인터뷰 요청에 응한 응답자에 한해 조사를 실시하였으며 총 13건의 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 항만정책 수립과 항만 건설을 위한 의견 수렴이 필요할 때 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Previous studies have shown that country image affects consumers' valuation of products. Based on a literature review this paper identifies five dimensions (economic, political, relational, people and cultural image) and purifies them with Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The data was gathered by using a structured questionnaire from 252 Korean consumers. Among the five dimensions of country image, this paper derives the three factors of country image for four countries (The United States, Japan, Australia, and China) - economic, relational, and cultural image. Then it examines the impacts of the three dimensions of country image on consumers' purchase intention of two industry types : industrial products vs. agricultural products. The result shows there is no difference between both of the two types in the impacts of country image on purchase intention. This implies that for managing the country image it not necessary to develop a communication strategy which is differentiated by industry types.

The objectives of the study are to analyze the impacts of rural road project on the social and economic activities of community people, offer basic data to perform evaluation of the project, and suggest future directions of the project. Research methodology adopted is a questionnaire method. There were interviewed 281 adult residents selected from 34 villages in Yeongdong-gun(mountainous), Miryang-si(middle), and Gochang-gun(plain). Results of the study are as follows: 1) Increase of income and land prices in mountainous and middle regions by the rural road project is higher than in plain; 2) Most inconvenient road expressed by the interviewee is the one linking farm and residence and 3) The problems of rural roads derived are narrowness, unpavement and partial pavement, unreliable maintenance, and long construction time. In order to meet the community needs on rural roads, it may be necessary that community people participate in the process of the project. And it is desirable to put priority on expanding and paving existing roads rather than constructing new one.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of residents' perceptions of tourism impact and conflicts on residents' participation in rural tourism village. Method of analysis involves factor analysis and regression analysis in this study. In order to measure the level of perception, three factors(economic benefits, social benefits, social and environmental cost) are derived from the factor analysis. And also in order to measure the level of conflict, two factor(openness of information, leading of operation) are derive from the factor analysis. The result of regression analysis indicate that perceived economic benefits and social benefits are rather greater impacts on residents' participation than social and environmental cost, and also openness of information is rather greater impacts on residents' participation than leading of operation.

Impact evaluation은 현재 시행중이거나 과거에 시행된 프로그램이 국가나 평가대상에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 측정하는 평가 방법으로 경제적 상황이나 시장 트렌드와 같이 결과에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 외부효과를 제거하고 순수하게 프로그램만의 영향력을 산출한다. 이 방법은 원래 미국의 DOE(Department Of Energy)산하 EERE(Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy)에서 프로그램 평가를 위해 사용하는 General Program Evaluation Guide에서 언급된 5가지 평가방법 중 하나로 미국의 신재생에너지 프로그램 평가에 주로 사용된다. 이를 한국에 적용하기 위해 미국의 주택용 풍력보급 사업을 평가한 보고서인 Economic Development Impacts of Community wind Projects: A Review and Empirical Evaluation 을 분석 했다. 이 보고서에서는 I/O model을 이용해 직접적 영향력, 간접적 영향력, 유도된 영향력을 구했으며 이를 기존의 평가 보고서와 비교해서 시사점을 도출하였다.

Environmental issues are currently in the forefront of the political and economic area both globaly and nationally. In the all spheres of socio-economic development and policy, it is suggested that there are need, to measure environmental impacts and to produce and disseminate environmental statistics systematically for environmentally sound and sustainable development. Specially, because environmental statistics encompass a wide spectrum of sectors from the natural to the social sciences and are dispersed among various agencies, an organized approach and compilation methods in complicated fields such as environment are required. This article includes the methodology on the framework for development of environmental statistics to advance korean environmental statistics.
