  • The delay due to congestion has recently attracted widespread attention with the analysis of over-all operation at the port. But, the complexity of the situation is evident in view of the large number of factors which impinge on the considerable end. Queueing theory is applicable to a large scale transportation system which is associated with arrivals of vessels in a large port. The attempt of this paper is to make an extensive analysis of the port transport system and its economic implications from the viewpoint that port is one of the physical distribution facilities and a kind of queueing system which includes ships and cargoes as port customer. By analyzing the real data on the Port of Pusan, it is known that this port can be represented as a set of multi-channel with identical setof Poisson arrival and Erlang service time, and also it is confirmed that the following formula is suitable to calculate the mean delay in this port, namely, $W_4={\frac{\rho}{\lambda(1-\rho)} {\frac{e_N(\rho{\cdot}N)}{D_{N-1}(\rho{\cdot}N)}$ where, ${\lambda}$: mean arrival rate $\mu$: mean servicing rate; N: number of servicing channel; ${\rho}$: utillization rate (${\lambda}/N{\mu}$) $e_N$: the Poisson function Coming to grips with the essentials of the cost of delay due to congestion, a simple ship journey cost model is adopted and the operating profit sensitivity to variation in port time is examined, and for purpose of a future development for port princing service the marginal cost is approximately calculated on the basis of queueing theory.

  • Taking a view of joining by welding the IN713C to SCM440 and SCM415 steel in production of turbochargers, the frictin welding process may be utilized as a new approach for joining them of other conventional welding processes. It is because the friction welding has more technical and technical and economic advantages than the other welding processes. As this welding process has the characteristics such as curtaliment of production time and materials and cost reduction, etc.. So, this paper deals with determining the preper friction welding condition and analyzing various mechanical properties of friction welded joints of the super heat resisting steel to alloy stee(IN713C to SCM440 and SCM415). And the in-process real-time weld quality evaluation technique by acoustic emission during friction welding of IN713C to SCM440 and SCM415 steels with higher confidence and relibility has been much required even though it might be the first trial approach for developing it. Then, this first study aimed to develop the optimization of dissimilar friction welding of heat resisting steels (INC713 to SCM440, SCM415) for turbine, considering on strength and toughness.

  • When it essentially designs and develops the Railway Signal System H/W and S/W, It requires base to build an environment which the safety of the complete system can be certified objectively. It is not rational choice to progress the safety certification of each of the subsystems to ensure reliability from an economic point of view. Furthermore, Even though H/W and S/W already certificated the safety, In case of changing subsystem to comprise relevant system, The safety certification of its parts newly must proceed. This study to solve these problems covers safety H/W platform which is commonly applicable to composition plan at Ground railway signaling systems such as CBTC, ETCS, CBI and safety-based modeling approach with S/W development tools (SCADE) and certificated O/S (Pike) to build the development environment. In addition, When it designs and develops safety S/W, This study explains structure to separate the data section which for logical operations and logical operations itself and provides guideline to support the certification through minimizing changes to the software.

  • The use of Korean native chicken is increasing, and the discovery of new genetic resources is very important from both economic and genetic conservation points of view. In this study, mtDNA D-loop sequences from 272 privately-owned Korean native chickens from a Hyunin farm were investigated. Seventeen nucleotide substitutions were identified from the sequence analysis and they were classified as 6 haplotypes. Previously investigated haplotypes in five Korean native chicken populations have been compared with the Hyunin chicken population. The results indicated that two haplotypes, H10 and H15, in the Hyunin chicken population were not previously identified in other Korean native chicken populations, representing 33.09% (90/272) and 1.1% (3/272) of the Hyunin population, respectively. On the other hand, four other haplotypes were identical to those of a previous study of Korean native chicken populations. This result is indicative of conservation strategies of Hyunin chicken populations for expanding the genetic diversity in the Korean native chicken population.
