구외 묘기장치를 이용한 무치악 환자의 수평면상 하악운동에 관한 연구 (HORIZONTAL PLANE JAW MOVEMENTS IN EDENTULOUS PATIENTS BY USE OF EXTRAORAL TRACING DEVICE)

  • Ten subjects who were going to wear conventional complete dentures were selected for this study. Theree subjects were women and seven were men. The average age was 63.1 years(range : 44 to 76 years). With the Height tracer (extraoral tracing device) in place the subject was instructed to go through the entire range of mandibular movements. The extreme lateral pathway of the incisor point, the so-called Gothic arch, was thereby inscribed by the stylus on the tracing plate. The mandibular movements in this study were peformed voluntarily by the subject(self guided technique) and guided by the dentist(chin-point technique and bimanual technique). The Gothic arch tracings were analysed and the Gothic arch angles and eccentric movement distances were measured. The results were as follows : 1. The apex position of the Gothic arch tracings of mandibular movements in edentulous patients varied both anterioposteriorly and mediolaterally. 2. The Gothic arch tracing had some lateral deviation during protrusion. 3. The average Gothic arch tracing angle was $136.7{\pm}12.0^{\circ}$ by subjects self guided technique, $135.7{\pm}5.9^{\circ}$ by chin-point technique, $136.6{\pm}6.5^{\circ}$ by bimanual technique. But there were no statistical differences in the reliability among the three techniques. 4. The average mandibular eccentric movements were irregular and the mandibular eccentric movement distances varied with a wide range.

편심전단을 받는 단일판접합부의 경사연단거리를 고려한 볼트군의 설계법 (Design Methods for Eccentrically Loaded Bolt Groups for the Single Plate Connections Considering Sloped Edge Distance)

  • 단일판접합(Single Plate Connections, 이하 SPC라 함)은 단순전단접합의 일종으로 한 장의 강판을 지지부재인 기둥이나 큰보의 웨브에 공장용접하고 보를 현장고력볼트로 접합하기 때문에 시공이 간편하고, 경제성이 있어 강구조 및 합성구조에서 널리 사용되고 있다. 일반형 단일판접합부의 고력볼트는 수직 1열로 2~12개가 사용되며, 단순보의 단부에서 필요한 회전유연성을 확보하기 위하여 고력볼트직경과 구멍형태에 따라 판의 두께를 제한하여 설계한다. SPC에서 편심전단을 받는 고력볼트군의 강도를 산정할 때, 고력볼트의 전단강도나, 판의 지압강도 또는 찢김(Tear-out)강도 중 최소값에 의해 설계강도가 결정되는데, 만약 연단고력볼트의 수직연단거리에 의한 찢김에 의해 고력볼트군의 강도가 결정될 때에는 매우 보수적으로 설계된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 고력볼트의 반력각도에 의한 실제 경사연단거리를 구하고 이를 근거로 설계강도를 산정하는 설계절차를 제안하였다. 편심전단을 받는 '약-판/강-고력고력볼트' 설계모델의 일반형 단일판접합부 고력볼트군 해석을 위해 탄성벡터법(EVM)과 소성법인 수간회전중심법(ICM)을 이용해 그 효과를 비교하였다. 또한 실용적이고 편리한 설계를 위하여 경사연단거리를 고려한 일반형 단일판접합부의 설계도표를 제안한다.

  • Three-dimensional density distributions of an impinging and eccentric flame have been analyzed numerically and experimentally by a combined optical system with a digital speckle tomography. The flame has been ignited by premixed butane/air from air holes and impinged vertically against a plate located at the upper side of tile burner nozzle. In order to compare with experimental data, computer synthesized phantoms of impinging and eccentric flames have been made and reconstructed by a developed three-dimensional multiplicative algebraic reconstruction technique (MART). A new scanning technique has been developed for the analysis of speckle displacements to investigate wall jet regions of the impinging flame including sharp variation of the flow direction and pressure gradient. The reconstructed temperatures have been compared with a temperature photography by an infrared camera and results of numerical analysis using a finite-element method.

The flames have been ignited by a mixture of butane and air from a circular nozzle and impinged against a plate located at the upper side of the burner exit. For comparison with experimental data, computer synthesized phantoms of impinging and eccentric flames have been reconstructed by a developed three-dimensional multiplicative algebraic reconstruction technique (MART). The advanced reconstruction in the stagnation flow region involved the sharp change of the flow direction and pressure gradient has been developed using a cross-correlation method and new scanning technique for the speckle displacement.

드롭 착지와 착지 후 점프 시 충격흡수 기전의 차이 분석 (Analysis of the Differences of the Shock Absorption Strategy between Drop-Landing and Countermovement-Jump)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate and identify the differences in lower extremity energy dissipation strategies between drop-landing and countermovement-jump maneuvers. Fourteen recreational athletes(Age : $23.3{\pm}2.1years$, Height : $172.3{\pm}4.0cm$, Weight : $69.2{\pm}4.7kg$) were recruited and instructed to perform drop-landing from 45 cm height and countermovement-jump from 45 cm to 20 cm height. The landing phase was taken as the time between initial contact and peak knee flexion. A motion-capture system consisting of eight infra-red cameras was employed to collect kinematics data at a sampling rate of 200 Hz and a force-plate was used to collect GRF data at a sampling rate of 2000 Hz. Paired t-test was performed to determine the difference in kinematics and kinetics variables between each task. During the countermovement-jump task, all of lower extremity joint ROM and the hip joint eccentric moment were decreased and the ankle joint plantarflexion moment was increased than drop-landing task. In the eccentric work during countermovement-jump task, the ankle joint displayed greater while knee and hip joint showed lesser than drop-landing. Therefore, the knee joint acted as the key energy dissipater during drop-landing while the ankle joint contributed the most energy dissipation during countermovement-jump. Our findings collectively indicated that different energy dissipation strategies were adopted for drop-landing and countermovement-jump.

  • A numerical analysis between the piston and cylinder in swash plate type hydraulic piston pumps under reciprocating motion is presented. A finite difference method and the Newton-Raphson method are used simultaneously to solve the Reynolds equation In the clearance and the equation of motion for the piston. The tapered piston showed stable behaviors regardless of their initial eccentric conditions in the clearance and the reciprocating speed affect highly on the piston end trajectories. Therefore, the results of present study can be used other types fluid machineries.

Evaluation of cyclic behavior of lateral load resisting system with eccentric brace and steel plate

  • Steel plate shear walls (SPSWs) are classified as lateral load-resisting systems. The feasibility of openings in the steel plate is a characteristic of SPSWs. The use of openings in SPSWs can lower the load capacity, stiffness, and energy dissipation. This study proposes a novel form of SPSWs that provides convenient access through openings by combining steel plates and eccentrically braced frames (EBFs). The proposed system also avoids a substantial reduction in the strength and stiffness. Hence, various geometric forms were analyzed through two different structural approaches. Groups 1, 2, and 3 included a steel EBF with a steel plate between the column and EBF in order to improve system performance. In Group 4, the proposed system was evaluated within an SPSW with openings and an EBF on the opening edge. To evaluate the performance of the proposed systems, the nonlinear finite element method (NL-FEM) was employed under cyclic loading. The hysteresis (load-drift) curve, stress contour, stiffness, and damping were evaluated as the structural outputs. The numerical models indicated that local buckling within the middle plate-EBF connection prevented a diagonal tension field. Moreover, in group 4, the EBF and stiffeners on the opening edge enhanced the structural response by approximately 7.5% in comparison with the base SPSW system.

  • 최근, 철골구조, 철골 철근콘크리트 구조 및 합성구조의 주각부는 국부적으로 제한된 부분에 큰 집중하중이 작용하고, 이 하중은 베이스 플레이트를 통하여 철근콘크리트 기초에 전달하게 된다. 따라서 철골구조 및 철골 철근콘크리트 구조의 설계에서 큰 축력을 받는 주각부의 지압강도를 정확히 평가하기가 매우 어렵다. 철골주각부는 역학적 특성이 다른 재료의 접합부로 설계 및 시공상 제약을 받게 되고, 응력전달도 매우 복잡하다. 특히, 구조설계시 지압강도의 적절한 평가는 무엇보다 중요하다. 지압강도에 영향을 미치는 요소는 지압응력을 받는 부재의 형태 및 재료, 하중의 작용형태, 지압면에서의 마찰구속력, 철근보강, 건조수축 등 매우 많다. 지압강도에 대한 대부분의 실험 및 연구에서는 중심축력을 받는 주각부에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 그러나, 실제 철골주각부 설계에서는 일축편심 또는 이축편심축력을 받는 경우가 많이 있다. 본 연구에서는 베이스플레이트에 작용하는 편심축력과 편심거리에 따른 지압강도의 변화 및 실험체의 파괴형태에 대하여 검토하였고, 편심축력 작용시 지압강도 산정방법을 제시하였다.

  • Fifty-one patients with fracture of mandible were treated by rigid internal fixation using AO Eccentric Dynamic Compression Plate. All teeth in the fracture line were left in all patients. None of patients were placed into maxillomancibular fixation. Two patients postoperatively developed infection (3.9%). The use of the AO EDCP for the fracture of mandible was found to be useful to prevent the infection, even permitting maintenance of the teeth in the line of fracture.

  • A cycloid speed reducer is a type of the speed reducers. The cycloid speed reducer has a eccentric rotating motion and offset to avoid some problem of assembly, so it has a disadvantage for vibration. In this paper, a multi-body dynamic model is developed for a cycloid speed reducer and the dynamic behaviors of the reducer are investigated. The cycloid speed reducer consists of cycloidal plate gears, housing gear, input shaft, output pin and shaft, and eccentric bearings. Using a CAD program, each component of cycloid reducer is modeled based on the offset and multi-body simulations are performed using Recurdyn. As a result, the pin reaction force and the amplitude of bearing displacement are increased by the offset.
