  • This study analyzed the service philosophy of Eastern mainstream thought in order to establish a service philosophy. Following a prior study the "study of the service philosophy of major korean ideology", we explored the service philosophy of the Eastern mainstream ideology of China and India and it's coherence. The existing basic structure and operational model of service philosophy were presented in depth and the service philosophy of Oriental mainstream thought was derived. The philosophy of service can be presented as an idea of the structure of the service and as an idea of the operation of the service. It suggested compatibility of the service philosophy of Asian mainstream ideas, and analyzed them mainly in China and India. Indian ideas revolved around the ancient philosophy of Veda, Upanishads philosophy, and representative Buddhist philosophy. It also showed that a major trend of mainstream ideas in China and India was found to be compatible with the service philosophy. Follow-up studies are needed to further refine the structure of service philosophy and develop the principles of operation into larger ideas in the future, and a study of conformity of service philosophy in representative Western ideas, focusing on Greek, Roman, and German philosophy, is also required. Ultimately, it is necessary to establish a service philosophy as an ideological base that drives future economic and social development.

  • This study is on relations between minimalism, which is one of important theme in the contemporary design, and East-oriented speculatiov. Minimalism, one inclination of neo-modernism is characterized by Essentialism. That is connected with East-oriented thinking, especially Taoism. The paradigm of contradiction and paradox replaces the paradigm of rationality and the law of cause and effect. Minimal tendency is appeared at Modernism in 60's and Neo-modernism in 90's. The differences are originated with their manner on simplicity. Minimal tendency in Modernism is characterized by 'less is more' and that in Meo-modernism is by 'more with less'. The minimizing strategy is not considered as means as in modern age but as purpose in neo-modern age. This paper explains minimal architectural space as spatial problem and recognitions on that, not as the figurative problem. Conclusively the relationships between minimalism and eastern ideas are represented through the boundary and extensity of space, void and solid, de-formalization and Essentialism.

The work let the audiences highly evoke interest and curiosity through offering magnificent sceneries, weird and funny creatures and stimulating imagination, before having no idea about the work producted by Miyajaki Hayao, one of the greatest directors. Well-concentrated his works seem to be easy to understand but have a variety of meanings in very different ways. Expending the range of analysis of his works, for example, from its technical to cultural and philosophical etc. has an enormous amount of value of diversity such as a ray of light passing through a prism. For this reason, has been studied in many different views. This paper will analyse this animation in respect of ideas of eastern as well as western to show differences from former papers. The ideas of eastern and western seem to be not in a line, but this study will suggest that the two different ideas are not different, actually. • The world has become one united world so that it is worthless to divide it into two; the East and West. In the 20th century, eastern perspectives proliferated in western science involving theology, philosophy and psychotherapy. In this time of various trends of ideas emerged minimalism, artistic and cultural current seeking simplicity and conciseness. This current of idea appeared about the time of World War II in visual art, and then expanded to other fields like music, architecture, fashion and philosophy in diverse forms. Minimalism is also presented in interior space with extreme form of simplicity and detail, revealing parts of the space as delicate and pure style with emphasis on purity of the space itself. In this research, demonstrate clear features of eastern view of space appeared in minimalism of interior design mainly in America. The reason the scope of study is limited to America is that America is the origin of minimal art and has been hub of modern design since the 1930s. The research, first, finds out the origin and conceptual idea of minimalism and features of eastern view of space. Based on this understanding, further study has been carried to discover relation of minimalistic interior space to eastern view of space and to analyze eastern characteristic expressed in minimalistic space by examination of cases pertaining to commercial space.

  • People have their own cultural backgrounds and experiences in terms of visual perceptional thinking so that they could misunderstand the cultural symbols, trademarks, Brand Identities, and trade characters, especially, animal trademarks. Sometimes Easterners and Westerners seem to not comprehend the different meanings of the cultural symbols. The signs of twelve Chinese zodiac animals are the typical symbol of the Asian mythology. What I wanted to focus on emphasizing the different views and perspective of an animal trademark is according to the Chinese Zodiac between Eastern and Western cultures. Generally, multiple symbolisms are difficult to comprehend, because they are created by individual ideas and incorporate several mythologies and histories. How do Westerners interpret the implied meaning of Eastern animals in general? How are they going to understand the Eastern animal logos or marks accurately? How can we solve the problem to make people understand their different meanings? There were some confusing pictorial images in the area of the design field when a designer creates an animal mark for globalization and localization. Creating of hybrid symbol is the best way to break the communication barriers with people all around the world.

Eastern ideas of textile, design, construction, and utility has been realized again as a positive contribution to the culture of the West. The East offers a larger concept in alternative to the Western propensity for tailoring. In giving primacy to the textile, Eastern dress emphasizes the flat terrain of cloth, the looping and Wrapping of the garment, and the integrity of the untailored textile. • , or The Story of Jeonuchi, is a classical Korean novel written at an unknown date by an unknown writer. It has a few different editions presumably because they were printed from a variety of different woodcuts carved in a few dialects. The present study examines The Story of Jeonuchi based on one of its earliest editions collected by the Academy of Korean Studies. Focused on the novel's main ideas of educational value, the author explores effective educational means to teach these ideas to college students. The novel's main ideas with edifying qualities include: alleviating resentment of the people, punishing the greedy, promoting filial piety and loyalty to the sovereign, and antagonism between disloyal forces. And these ideas can be effectively discussed in class using brainstorming, demonstration and logical description. Changing time requires a different approach to understanding and appreciating classical novels. Based on this awareness, the study seeks to find an effective way to teach today's students about literature from a different time. It also stresses that this process involves encouraging the students to logically express their ideas in writing.
