  • 이 논문은 FRP시스템 외부부착공법의 조기 탈착문제를 개선하기 위해 개발된 유리섬유-강 복합판(GFSP)으로 보강된 RC보의 성능 및 파괴특성에 관한 실험적 연구다. 사용 중인 보의 손상과 재하상황을 실제적으로 모의하기 위하여, 사전균열과 반복하중이 실험변수로 채택되었다. 실험에서 GFSP 보강은 보의 강도증가, 처짐감소, 균열의 억제 등에 매우 효과적인 보강공법임이 확인되었다. 그러나 GFSP로 보강되는 보의 설계는 휨 성능에서 유리섬유의 취성거동을 고려하여야 하는 것을 보여주었다.

  • Recently, the damaged concrete structures are often strengthened or repaired using the polymer concrete or the polymer cement mortar. In the repaired concrete structures at early ages, internal stresses could be developed due to the differential drying shrinkage of the repair material. Due to the difference of the thermal coefficients of the repair material and existing concrete, additional stresses also could be developed as the structures are subjected to the ambient temperature changes. Theses environmentally-induced stresses can sometimes be large enough to cause damage to the structures, such as debonding of the interface between the two materials. In this study, a rational procedure was developed where anchors can be designed and installed to prevent damages in such structures by thermally-induced stresses. Finally, through the experimental and numerical study, the effects of the repair method using anchors with debonding was investigated and discussed the results.

Shrinkage-Induced Stresses at Early Ages in Composite Concrete Beams

  • Stresses that develop due to differential shrinkage between polymer modified cement mortar (PM) and Portland cement concrete (PCC) in a repaired concrete beam at early ages were investigated. Interface delamination or debonding of the newly cast repair material from the base is often observed in the field when the drying shrinkage of the repair material is relatively large. This study presents results of both experimental and analytical works. In the experimental part of the study, development of the material properties such as compressive strength, elastic modulus, interface bond strength, creep constant, and drying shrinkage was investigated by testing cylinders and beams for a three-week period in a constant-temperature chamber. Development of shrinkage-induced strains in a PM-PCC composite beam was determined. In the analytical part of the study, two analytical solutions were used to compare the experimental results with the analytically predicted values. One analysis method was of an exact type but could not consider the effect of creep. The other analysis method was rather approximate in nature but the creep effect was included. Comparison between the analytical and the experimental results showed that both analytical procedures resulted in stresses that were in fair agreement with the experimentally determined values. It may be important to consider the creep effect to estimate shrinkage-induced stresses at early ages.

새로운 매설형 신축이음장치의 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation of a New Buried Expansion Joint)

  • Asphalt Plug Joint(APJ)는 통상 무게비로 20%의 역청(bitumen)과 80%의 골재로 구성된 역청 혼합물을 이용하여 포장 사이의 신축이음부를 메꾸는 형태의 신축이음장치로, 도로 포장과 신축이음부의 매끄러운 연결을 가능케 하여 평탄성을 확보하면서 재료의 특성을 이용하여 교량 상판의 신축을 자체적으로 흡수하도록 되어 있는 매설형 신축이음장치이다. 그러나 APJ은 6-7년의 사용주기를 가지고 설계되지만 때때로 시공 후 6개월 내에 조기파손의 사례가 나타나고 있다. 이러한 조기파손은 잦은 보수 공사로 인한 교통정체 등을 유발하며 이로 인한 사회적 비용은 이음장치의 설치비용을 훨씬 상회한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 APJ의 단점을 극복할 수 있는 새로운 시스템인 Buried Folding Lattice Joint(BFLJ)을 개발하였고 시험체를 제작하여 실험을 통해 기존 시스템과 성능을 비교 분석하였다. 실험결과 APJ는 신축에 의하여 철판 양끝에서 변형이 발생하여 표면으로 확산되었다. 이 결과로 철판 끝을 따라 발생하는 아스팔트 혼합물의 변형집중으로 인한 인장균열과 접합부의 부착파괴 현상이 발생하였으며 이것이 조기파손의 원인이 된다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 반면 새로 개발된 BFLJ의 경우는 움직이는 스터드를 사용하고 고성능 재료를 사용함으로써 조인트 전체에 고른 변형을 유도하여 APJ의 변형집중의 단점을 해소할 수 있었다. 이에 새로 개발된 BFLJ는 APJ의 문제점을 극복하고 조기파손을 예방할수 있을 것이라 판단된다.

Effect of ages and season temperatures on bi-surface shear behavior of HESUHPC-NSC composite

  • Ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) has become an attractive cast-in-place repairing material for existing engineering structures. The present study aims to investigate age-dependent high-early-strength UHPC (HESUHPC) material properties (i.e., compressive strength, elastic modulus, flexural strength, and tensile strength) as well as interfacial shear properties of HESUHPC-normal strength concrete (NSC) composites cured at different season temperatures (i.e., summer, autumn, and winter). The typical temperatures were kept for at least seven days in different seasons from weather forecasting to guarantee an approximately consistent curing and testing condition (i.e., temperature and relative humidity) for specimens at different ages. The HESUHPC material properties are tested through standardized testing methods, and the interfacial bond performance is tested through a bi-surface shear testing method. The test results quantify the positive development of HESUHPC material properties at the early age, and the increasing amplitude decreases from summer to winter. Three-day mechanical properties in winter (with the lowest curing temperature) still gain more than 60% of the 28-day mechanical properties, and the impact of season temperatures becomes small at the later age. The HESUHPC shrinkage mainly occurs at the early age, and the final shrinkage value is not significant. The HESUHPC-NSC interface exhibits sound shear performance, the interface in most specimens does not fail, and most interfacial shear strengths are higher than the NSC-NSC composite. The HESUHPC-NSC composites at the shear failure do not exhibit a large relative slip and present a significant brittleness at the failure. The typical failures are characterized by thin-layer NSC debonding near the interface, and NSC pure shear failure. Two load-slip development patterns, and two types of main crack location are identified for the HESUHPC-NSC composites tested in different ages and seasons. In addition, shear capacity of the HESUHPC-NSC composite develops rapidly at the early age, and the increasing amplitude decreases as the season temperature decreases. This study will promote the HESUHPC application in practical engineering as a cast-in-place repairing material subjected to different natural environments.

앵커로 보수한 콘크리트 계면 거동의 고찰 (Investigation on Behaviors of Concrete Interfaces Repaired Using Anchors)

  • 콘크리트 구조물을 보수 또는 보강하기 위해서 폴리머 콘크리트 혹은 폴리머 시멘트 모르타르를 종종 사용한다. 보수된 콘크리트 구조물의 일교차 또는 열악한 환경에 의한 온도강하 시 두 재료의 상이한 열팽창계수와 보수 재료의 초기양생 시 나타나는 건조수축으로 인해 계면에 응력이 발생하게 된다. 이러한 추가적으로 발생하는 응력은 계면의 부착력을 저하시켜 때로는 구조물에 큰 손상을 유발할 수 있다 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하고자 단면보수 및 증대를 위해 사용되는 보수 모르타르에 섬유앵커를 추가로 적용함으로서, 부착력 저하를 감소시키는지 여부를 실험을 통하여 검토하였다. 또한 보수 단면에 적용하는 앵커가 계면 전단응력에 미치는 영향을 유한요소해석을 통하여 검토를 시도하였다.

탄소섬유 보강공법의 조기 탈락 방지 공법 개발 연구 (Development of New Strengthening Methods Preventing Early Delamination Failure of CFS)

  • The strengthening method with CFS(Carbon Fiber Sheet) has some fatal defects that the beams strengthened with CFS is always failed far below its ultimated strenth due to rapid progress of horizontal delamination. The crack between beam and CFS are always started from the center of the beam and propagated to the end of the beam. The moment of the beam is always the largest in the middle of the beam, so is the tensile force of the CFS. The bumped surface of the CFS causes debonding force depending on the tensile force of CFS. In this study, two methods which delay early delamination are suggested and proved its validity, experimentally. The first method is using anchor bolt at the end of CFS, and the second method is using CFS wrap aroud at the center and the end of beam. The maximum load and ductility of the two methods are increased significantly. However, the maximum load is still far below the ultimate load. That's because the tensile strength of CFS is so large that its tensile strength can not be reached under normal loading condition. The ductility of the strengthened beam is improved more that twice before modiffication.

노후 줄눈 콘크리트 포장 보수를 위한 얇은 연속 철근 콘크리트 덧씌우기 포장의 거동 평가(2) (Behavior Evaluation of Thin Bonded Continuously Reinforced Concrete Overlay on Aged Jointed Concrete Pavement(2))

  • 본 연구에서는 노후 콘크리트 포장의 효율적 유지보수를 위하여 국내 최초 적용된 연속철근 콘크리트 개념의 얇은 덧씌우기 공법(CRCO : Thin Bonded Continuously Reinforced Concrete Overlay)의 거동 특성을 살펴보았다. 서해안 고속도로의 폐도 구간에 CRCO 공법과 JCO 공법(Jointed Concrete Overlay)을 시험시공 하였으며, CRCO 공법에 삽입된 종방향 철근으로 효과를 검토하였다. 시험시공 후 균열 조사 결과, CRCO 구간의 기존 줄눈부에서부터 반사 균열이 발생하였으나 그 폭은 매우 좁았다. 철근의 구속역할로 인해 CRCO 공법에서 더 많은 균열이 발생하였으며, 그 간격은 CRCP 보다 더 좁았다. 부착강도 측정 결과, 표면 처리로 Cold Milling 후 이물질을 제거하여 초기에 층간 부착 문제가 발생하지 않았다. 기존 JCP의 줄눈부에 수평으로 매설한 계측기 데이터분석 결과, 초기 균열 터짐 시 일정 폭 이상으로 벌어지지 못하게 종방향 철근이 잡아주는 역할을 하였으며, 온도변화에 대한 수평 변위 발생 억제 효과도 있었다. 하지만 층간 부착 문제가 발생할 경우, 철근의 구속 효과는 저감되었다. 수직 계측기의 데이터를 통해서 철근이 없는 JCO 공법에 비해 CRCO 공법은 종방향 철근 위치에서 층간 부착 문제가 발생하지 않았으며, 현장 코어링 작업을 통해 이를 확인하였다. 슬래브 내의 수평 거동을 분석한 결과, 초기에 철근의 구속으로 인해 CRCO 공법에서는 인장 변형률이, 구속이 미미한 JCO 공법은 압축력이 발생하였다. FWD 데이터 분석 결과, CRCO 공법의 처짐량이 JCO 보다 더 적게 발생하였으며, 지지력 평가에서는 전반적으로 덧씌우기 후가 더 크게 나타났으며, 특히 CRCO 공법이 JCO 공법에 비해 지지력에 대한 덧씌우기 두께 효과가 더 컸다.

  • Valve lifter namely tappet is supported by lifter hole which is located upper side of camshaft in cylinder block transforms rotatic mvement of camshaft into linear movement and helps to open and shut the en-gine valve as an engine parts. The face of valve lifter which is continuously contacting with camshaft brings about abnormal wears such as unfair wear and early wear because it is severely loaded in the valve train system. These wears act as a defect like over-clearance and cause imperfect combustion of fuel during the valve lifting in the combustion chamber. Consequently this imperfect combustion makes the engine out-put decrease and has cause on air pollution. To prevent these wears therefore The valve lifter cast in me-tal developed into SiC ceramics valve lifter which has an excellence in wear and impact resistance As a results the optimum process conditions like injection condition mixture ratio and debonding process could be established. After sintering fine-sinered dual microstructure in which prior ${\alpha}$-SiC matches well with new SiC(${\beta}$-SiC) produced by reaction among the ${\alpha}$-SiC carbon and silicon was obtained. Based on the study it is verified that mechanical properties of SiC valve lifter are excellent in Vickers hardness 1100-1200 bending strength (300-350 Pa) fracture toughness(1.5-1.7 Mpa$.$m1/2) Through engine dynamo test-ing SiC valve lifter and metal valve lifter are examined and compared into abnormal phenomena such as early fracture unfair and early wear. It is hoped that this research will serve as an important springboard for the future study of heavy duty diesel engine parts developed by ceramics which has a good wear resis-tance relaibility and lightability.

Monitoring degradation in concrete filled steel tubular sections using guided waves

  • Concrete filled steel tubes are extensively applied in engineering structures due to their resistance to high tensile and compressive load and convenience in construction. But one major flaw, their vulnerability to environmental attack, can severely reduce the strength and life of these structures. Degradation due to corrosion of steel confining the concrete is one of the major durability problems faced by civil engineers to maintain these structures. The problem accelerates as inner surface of steel tube is in contact with concrete which serves as electrolyte. If it remains unnoticed, it further accelerates and can be catastrophic. This paper discusses a non-destructive degradation monitoring technique for early detection corrosion in steel tubes in CFST members. Due to corrosion, damage in the form of debonding and pitting occurs in steel sections. Guided ultrasonic waves have been used as a feasible and attractive solution for the detection and monitoring of corrosion damages in CFST sections. Guided waves have been utilized to monitor the effect of notch and debond defects in concrete filled steel tubes simulating pitting and delamination of steel tubes from surrounding concrete caused by corrosion. Pulse transmission has been used to monitor the healthy and simulated damaged specimens. A methodology is developed and successfully applied for the monitoring of concrete filled steel tubular sections undergoing accelerated chloride corrosion. The ultrasonic signals efficiently narrate the state of steel tube undergoing corrosion.
