성견에서 수산화인산염 피개 IMZ임플란트와 티타늄 피개 IMZ임플란트주위의 골형성 및 골성숙 정도에 대한 비교연구 (EFFECTS OF HYDROXYAPATITE AND TITANIUM-COATED DENTAL IMPLANTS ON BONE FORMATION AND MATURATION IN DOG)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the bone formation, maturation around HA-and titaniumcoated dental implants in dog. 5 hydroxyapatite coated IMZ implants and 5 titanium coated IMZ implants were placed into the previously extracted site in the mandible of 5 adults dogs. All dogs were injected intravenously Tetracycline, Alizalin red S, and Calcein for bone fluorescent labelling, After the experimental period of 16weeks, the dogs were sacrificed and tissue samples around the implants were obtained. Microscopic observations(ligth, polariged and fluorescence microscope), morphometric analysis, line profile with EPMA, and quantitative analysis for Ca,P, and Ti were performed. The results were as follows ; 1. Bone maturations around the implants were relatively lower than those of natural teeth. No significant differences in bone maturation and remodeling patterns were observed between the two implants groups. 2. Calcification of bone surrounding the implants was initiated in 8-11 weeks for HA-coated implants, while it took 11 weeks or more for Ti-coated implants. 3. Bone-to-implants contact ratio of 82.63% was recorded for HA-coated group and 72.25% for titanium coated group, with no significant difference between the two groups. 4. Bone around the implants exhibited reduced quantity of Ca and P in the $100{\mu}m$ region relative to natural teeth, while the rest of the regions showed no statistical differences. No significant differences were found between the two implant groups. 5. There was a separation of HA layer from the implant core and subsequent infiltration of inflammatory cells into the resulting space in the HA-coated implants, and evidences of phagocytosis of HA particles by macrophages. Bone calcification was more rapid around HA-coated implants compared to titanium-coated implants, but HA coated implants did not show any significant differences either in the degree of calcification or the bone-to-implant contact ratio over Ti coated implants. HA coated implants may have complications associated with HA absorption and separation of HA layer from the implant core.

  • 파장분산형 엑스선분광분석기에 의한 Xe의 전자탐침미세분석시 표준물질에 대해 기술하였다. 실험결과 순수금속 표준시편을 사용할 수 없는 Cs, I, Ba의 표준물질로는 Csl와 $BaCO_3$가 가장 적당한 것으로 나타났다. 빔전류량 10-30 nA에서 Csl, CsBr로부터 측정한 Cs의 엑스선 세기는 빔전류량에 비례하였다. PET 결정 사용시 In-Nd 원소들의 원자번호 대 엑스선 세기간의 직선성은 가속전압 25-30 kV 범위에서 직선회귀 계수 R=0.99 이상의 좋은 상관성을 보였다. 직선회귀식으로 구한 Xe의 엑스선 세기 표준값은 가속전압 25 kV에서 Te의 엑스선 세기 표준값 보다 1.095배 높게 나타났다.

정전위 전해에칭법에 의한 스테인레스 강의 입계 석출물 분석 (Analysis of the grain boundary precipitates in stainless steel by potentiostatic etching dissolution method)

  • 강 중 석출물을 추출분리한 후 이를 정량분석하는 것을 목적으로 개발된 정전위 전해법을 304 스테인레스 판재 및 선재 제조시에 발생한 결함 원인 분석에 활용하여 시료의 조직을 관찰하였으며, 결함 원인을 조사하였다. 스테인레스 선재 및 판재의 균열 전파 양상은 정전위 전해법을 이용하여 에칭한 후 주사전자현미경으로 관찰하였고, 입계를 따라서 존재하는 조대한 석출물은 EDS 및 EPMA를 이용하여 성분분석을 행하였다. 이들 조대한 석출물의 구조분석은 X-선 회절 패턴을 이용하여 행하였다. 판재 및 선재 두 경우 모두 균열은 입계를 따라서 전파하고 있었으며, 입계에는 $M_{23}(C,\;B)_6$ 이외에 조대한 $M_2C$ 석출물이 존재하는 것으로 확인되었다. 이들 석출물들의 분석에 정전위 전해에칭법을 이용함으로써 양호한 시료를 얻을 수 있었다.

[Li]/[Nb]조성비 변화에 따른 iron-doped $LiNbO_3$ 결정의 특성분석

  • Iron-doped LiNbO$_3$ crystals were grown by floating zone(FZ) method with different [Li]/[Nb] ratio in order to investigate doping effects of transition metal impurity in LiNbO$_3$ crystal. The grown crystals were analyized edge in UV/VIS/IR spectrometry and EPMA(electron probe micro-analysis). The absorption edge in UV-VIS region and OH-absorption peak in IR region were investigated. The change of Fe concentration along the solidification direction was also investigated

마그네사이트(MgCO$_3$)의 수열합성에 관한 연구 (Synthesis of Magnesite by Hydrothermal Method)

  • Magnesite single crystals up to 250 microns were synthesized from an equi-molar solution of MgCl2 and Na2CO3 in the micro-autoclave at 180-20$0^{\circ}C$. The lattice constant of synthetic magnesite was obtained a=4.6369(7), c=15.0230(10)A.U. by a least squares analysis based on the UNICS Program (Sakurai 1967) was applied to 28 reflections. Results of X-ray powder diffraction and of DTA, TGA, IRA, and EPMA studies indicate that synthesized magnesite has properties to those of natural magnesite.

한국원자력연구원 지하처분연구시설(KURT) 화강암의 U-Th 함유광물 산출특성 및 존재형태 (Occurrence Characteristics and Existing Forms of U-Th Containing Minerals in KAERI Underground Research Tunnel(KURT) Granite)

  • 고준위방사성폐기물 심지층 처분 대상 암종으로 고려되는 화강암에서 방사성핵종의 장기 거동 특성을 이해하기 위한 연구의 일환으로 KURT(KAERI Underground Research Tunnel) 화강암에 존재하는 U-Th 함유광물의 산출특성 및 존재형태 대한 연구를 수행하였다. KURT의 화강암은 주로 석영, 장석류와 운모류로 구성되며, 그 외에 저어콘 및 희토류원소를 함유하는 모나자이트, 바스트네사이트 등이 확인된다. 또한 견운모, 미사장석, 녹니석과 같은 이차광물과 함께 석영맥과 방해석맥 등이 관찰되는데 이는 후기 열수작용에 의한 영향으로 추정된다. U-Th 함유광물은 대부분 $30{\mu}m$ 이하로 석영 및 장석류, 운모류의 경계에서 확인된다. EPMA 정량분석 결과, U-Th 함유광물의 74.2 ~ 96.5%가 $UO_2$ (3.39 ~ 33.19 wt.%), $ThO_2$(41.61 ~ 50.24 wt.%), $SiO_2$ (15.43 ~ 18.60 wt.%) 등으로 구성된 것으로 확인된다. EPMA 분석결과를 이용한 화학구조식 계산결과, U-Th 함유광물은 규산염 광물로 토라이트(thorite), 우라노토라이트(uranothorite)인 것으로 판단된다. U-Th 함유 규산염 광물은 화강암과 페그마타이트 및 열수작용에 의해 형성된다. 따라서 마그마의 분화에 의해 형성된 KURT 화강암은 후기 열수에 의해 변질 및 교대작용이 수반되었을 것으로 판단된다. U-Th 함유 규산염 광물은 열수에 기인한 온도, 압력, pH 등의 변수들과 지화학적 요인에 의해 재결정 작용을 일으킨 것으로 추정된다. 또한 재결정 과정 동안 반복적인 용해/침전에 의해 우라늄과 토륨의 농집량 변화에 따라 토라이트, 우라노토라이트 광물들이 형성된 것으로 판단된다.

EPMA의 지질학(地質學)에의 응용(應用) (The Application of Electron Microprobe Analysis in Geological Science)

  • The newly discovered minerals found during 30 years have been discovered with election microprobe analysis, and several other new minerals have been described largely on the basis of probe analysis. Widely used types of instrument are the wavelength dispersive spectrometer (WDS) and the energy dispersive Spectrometer (EDS), with emitted X-ray dispersed by a curved crystal that is arranged to satisfy the Bragg equation ($n{\lambda}=2dsin{\theta}$). Atomic Nos of Z 4 to 92 can be analyzed quantitatively if they present in amount exceeding 50~100ppm. The application of the microprobe in mineralogical and geological research is quantitative chemical analysis of grains as small as a few microns in diameter, individual grains in a rock or can be analyzed in thin section and polished section, analysis can be made comparatively short time, methods in non-destructure, to photographical and crystallographical information. This paper was written in order to document data evaluation procedure for quantitative energy dispersive election probe analysis.

Dynamics of Nanopore on the Apex of the Pyramid

  • In this report, the plasmonic nanopores of less than 5 nm diameter were fabricated on the apex of the pyramidal cavity array. The metallic pyramidal pit cavity can also utilized as the plasmonic bioreactor, and the fabricated Au or Al metallic nanopore can provide the controllable translocation speed down using the plasmonic optical force. Initially, the SiO2 nanopore on the pyramidal pit cavity were fabricated using conventional microfabrication techniques. Then, the metallic thin film was sputter-deposited, followed by surface modification of the nanometer thick membrane using FESEM, TEM and EPMA. The huge electron intensity of FESEM with ~microsecond scan speed can provide the rapid solid phase surface transformation. However, the moderate electron beam intensity from the normal TEM without high speed scanning can only provide the liquid phase surface modification. After metal deposition, the 100 nm diameter aperture using FIB beam drilling was obtained in order to obtain the uniform nano-aperture. Then, the nanometer size aperture was reduced down to ~50 nm using electron beam surface modification using high speed scanning FESEM. The followed EPMA electron beam exposure without high speed scanning presents the reduction of the nanosize aperture down to 10 nm. During these processes, the widening or the shrinking of the nanometer pore was observed depending upon the electron beam intensity. Finally, using 200 keV TEM, the diameter of the nanopore was successively down from 10 nm down to 1.5 nm.
