타인평정 공감 척도의 개발 및 타당화 연구 (The Development and Validity of the Empathy Rating Scale by a Third Party)

  • 본 연구는 타인평정 공감 척도를 개발하고 타당화하는 데 목적이 있다. 예비연구를 통해 개발된 15개의 예비 문항은 연구 1의 탐색적 요인분석을 통해, '공감의 시작', '공감의 과정', '공감의 결과'라는 세 개의 하위요인으로 유목화되었다. 연구 2에서는 척도의 타당도를 확인하기 위하여 확인적 요인분석, 상관분석 및 판별분석이 시행되었다. 확인적 요인분석 결과 3요인 모형에 양호한 적합도를 나타내었고, 상관분석을 통해 진정성, 정서 명확성, 친밀감과는 정적 상관이, 불안 및 거부 애착과는 부적 상관이 있음을 확인함으로써 수렴 타당도가 검증되었다. 따라서 개발된 타인평정 공감 척도는 11개의 최종 문항과 세 개의 하위요인으로 구성된 척도로 보는 것이 타당한 것으로 확인되었다. 마지막으로 연구 결과에 근거하여 본 척도가 갖는 의의와 연구의 제한점 및 후속 연구의 방향성에 대해 논의하였다.

간호대학생의 의사소통 능력과 대인관계에서 공감의 매개효과 (Mediating effect of communication ability in the relation between empathy and interpersonal relation in nursing students)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to grasp the correlation between communication ability, empathy, and interpersonal relations among nursing students, and to explore the mediating effect of empathy on the relation between communication and interpersonal relation in nursing students. Methods: Participants were 209 college students in the Department of Nursing at two universities. The data collection period was from October 1, 2019 to November 1, 2019. The questionnaire consisted of measuring tools for general characteristics, communication ability, interpersonal relation and empathy. SPSS/23.0 program was used. The analysis used descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, multiple regression analysis, and Sobel's tests. Results: The communication ability was nursing major satisfaction (t=8.25, p<.001), and last year's average grade (t=7.29, p=.001). Interpersonal relationships showed significant differences in gender (t=2.51, p=.013) and nursing major satisfaction (t=10.99, p<.001). Communication ability and empathy (r=.37, p<.001), communication ability and interpersonal relation (r=.77, p<.001), empathy and interpersonal relation (r=.43, p<.001) showed a significant static correlation. In communication ability and interpersonal relation, empathy had a partial mediating effect (Z=2.97, p<.001), and explanatory power was 62%. Conclusion: To improve the communication ability and interpersonal relation of nursing students, it is necessary to develop a personalized and empathy-enhanced education program for each grade.

간호대학생의 다문화접촉경험과 문화적 공감이 다문화수용성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Multicultural contact Experience and Ethnocultural Empathy on Multicultural acceptance among Nursing Students.)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생의 다문화접촉경험과 문화적 공감이 다문화수용성에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위하여 시도되었다. 연구 대상자는 C시의 3개 간호학과 학생 164명이었다. 자료수집은 2017년 11월 15일부터 12월 20일까지 하였다. 자료는 SPSS 23.0을 이용하여 빈도, t-test, one-way ANOVA, 피어슨 상관계수 분석, 다중회귀분석을 하였다. 연구결과 다문화수용성은 정서적 공감(r=.56, p<.001), 인지적 공감( r=.40, p<.001), 다문화접촉경험(r=.16, p=.040)과 양의 상관이 있었다. 다문화수용성에 영향을 주는 요인은 정서적 공감, 인지적 공감이었으며 이들의 설명력은 33.7% 로 나타났다(F=42.47, p<.001). 본 연구에서 정서적 공감과 인지적 공감은 다문화수용성에 양의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 본 연구의 결과는 간호대학생의 다문화수용성 향상을 위한 새로운 전략개발에 도움이 될 것이다.

유치원 교사의 공감 능력이 긍정심리자본을 통해 직무 스트레스에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Kindergarten Teacher's Empathy Ability on Job Stress through Positive Psychological Capital)

  • 유치원 교사는 영유아를 밀접하게 옆에서 보육하는 역할을 하며, 교사의 높은 공감 능력은 유아의 감정 및 의견을 존중하는 데 도움을 주며, 다양한 관계를 긍정적으로 이끌어 궁극적으로 자신의 직무만족감 및 자신감이 향상된다고 연구되었으나 관련한 구체적인 연구 결과는 부족하다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 유치원 교사의 공감 능력이 긍정 심리자본을 통해 직무 스트레스에 미치는 영향이 어떠한지 알아보고, 긍정 심리자본 및 공감 능력을 높일 수 있는 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 이를 이루기 위해 연구 방법은 서울 및 경기 지역의 유치원 교사 212명을 대상으로 하여 설문 조사 결과를 바탕으로 각 변수의 인과관계를 확인하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 유치원 교사의 공감 능력 중 정서적 공감 능력이 긍정 심리자본의 각 요소에 모두 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 공감 능력 중 인지적 공감능력이 긍정 심리자본의 각 요소에 모두 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 유치원 교사의 긍정 심리자본 전체와 직무 스트레스에 영향을 살펴본 결과, 자기효능감과 복원력에 부정적인 영향을 미친다고 나타났다.

간호대학생의 다문화 감수성과 문화적 공감이 다문화 수용성에 미치는 영향 (Predictors of Intercultural Sensitivity and Cultural Empathy on Multicultural Acceptance in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose : Establishing multicultural acceptance is important to provide quality nursing care in various clinical settings and adapt to changing roles in different situations. The purpose of this study was to explore degree of intercultural sensitivity, cultural empathy, and multicultural acceptance, the factors influencing of multicultural acceptance of nursing students and to provide the basic data to increased multicultural acceptance. Methods : The study used a questionnaires that include general characteristics, multicultural acceptance, intercultural sensitivity, cultural empathy for nursing students. This research involved 173 nursing students in G city. The data collected from August 15, 2021 to August 30, 2021. The study was analyzed using the SPSS 23.0 program. The correlation among intercultural sensitivity, cultural empathy, and multicultural acceptance was analyzed by Pearson's correlation coefficients, and it was analyzed using multiple regression to figure out factors influencing multicultural acceptance. Results : The multicultural acceptance score was above the middle level and differed according to the academic grade (F=8.580, p<.001), major satisfaction (F=5.981, p=.003), interpersonal relations significantly (F=6.837, p=.001). Multicultural acceptance was a significant positive correlation with intercultural sensitivity (r=.544, p<.001), cultural empathy (r=.624, p<.001). As a result of regression analysis, it was confirmed that cultural empathy (β=.477, p<.001) and intercultural sensitivity (β=.212, p<.001) were factors that influence nursing students' multicultural acceptance ; this model could explain 40 %. Conclusion : Factors affecting multicultural acceptance of nursing students are cultural empathy and intercultural sensitivity. Nursing students are encouraged to have multicultural acceptance in terms of satisfaction of cultural empathy and intercultural sensitivity. Through this research requires the fellow study to determine the various factors affecting multicultural acceptance of nursing students. And it is necessary to development education and program that can enhance multicultural acceptance is required.

간호대학생의 범문화 효능감과 문화적 공감이 인간중심간호역량에 미치는 영향 (Predictors of Transcultural Self-efficacy and Cultural Empathy on Person-centered Care Competency in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose : Establishing competency in person-centered care is crucial for providing high-quality nursing care in diverse clinical settings and adapting to changing roles in different situations. This study aimed to explore the level of transcultural self-efficacy, cultural empathy, and person-centered care competency among nursing students, as well as identify the factors influencing their person-centered care competency. The findings will serve as fundamental data to enhance person-centered care competency. Methods : A questionnaire consisting of items on general characteristics, person-centered care competency, transcultural self-efficacy, and cultural empathy was administered to 175 nursing students in G city. Data were collected from March 5, 2023, to March 20, 2023. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 23.0 program. Pearson's correlation coefficients were used to examine the correlation among transcultural self-efficacy, cultural empathy, and person-centered care competency. Multiple regression analysis was employed to determine the factors influencing person-centered care competency. Results : The person-centered care competency scores were above the average level and varied according to department satisfaction (F=13.79, p<.001), subjective well-being (t=3.34, p=.015), and interpersonal relations (F=5.74, p=.001). Person-centered care competency exhibited a significant positive correlation with cultural empathy (r=.51, p<.001) and transcultural self-efficacy (r=.49, p<.001). Regression analysis confirmed that cultural empathy (β=.39, p<.001) and transcultural self-efficacy (β=.22, p<.001) were influential factors for nursing students' person-centered care competency, with the model explaining 37 % of the variance. Conclusion : Cultural empathy and transcultural self-efficacy are significant factors influencing the person-centered care competency of nursing students. It is crucial to encourage nursing students to develop person-centered care competency by fostering cultural empathy and transcultural self-efficacy. Further research is needed to identify additional factors affecting person-centered care competency among nursing students. Additionally, the development of education programs aimed at enhancing person-centered care competency is necessary.

빈곤가정 청소년의 공감 관계 경험에 관한 연구 -학교사회복지사와의 관계를 중심으로- (The Study of the Empathy Relationship Experiences of Adolescents from Low-SES Families - Focus on relationship with School Social Worker -)

  • 본 연구는 빈곤가정 청소년의 공감능력이 청소년의 행복한 삶에 긍정적인 영향을 줄 뿐 아니라 보호요인으로써 작용할 수 있다는 점에 주목하여, 청소년이 학교사회복지사와의 관계를 중심으로 경험하고 있는 공감을 이해하고자 실시하였다. 이러한 목적을 위해서 학교사회복지사와 관계 경험이 있는 빈곤가정 청소년 10명을 만났다. 심층면접은 '학교사회복지사와의 관계에서 공감을 경험하는 것은 자기 스스로에게 어떤 의미였나요? 라는 질문을 통해 진행하였고, 수집된 자료는 현상학적 질적 연구 방법으로 분석하였다. 연구결과에서 확인한 주제는 친밀한 사람으로부터 도움 받기로 나타났고, 구성요소는 '공감대 형성 노력', '마음 이해', '도움'이었다. 빈곤가정 청소년들은 정서, 인지적 공감 뿐 아니라 실질적인 도움 행동을 통해서도 공감 받았다고 지각하고 있었다. 따라서 차후 학교사회복지사 뿐 아니라 현장 실천가들이 빈곤가정 청소년을 만날 때 다양한 공감 기술을 충분히 숙지하고 활용할 수 있어야 하고 향후 공감에 관한 다차원적인 연구 노력이 필요함을 제안하였다.

The Mediating Effect of Spirituality between Nurses' Empathy and Elderly Care Performance in the Long Term Care Hospitals

  • Purpose: The objective of this study was to identify whether spirituality mediates the relationship between empathy and elderly care performance among Long Term Care (LTC) hospitals nurses in Korea. Methods: The data collection was performed July 1st to August 31th, 2018. Participants were 119 nurses from three long-term care hospitals in Korea. Self-reported questionnaires were administered to assess general characteristics, empathy, spirituality and elderly care performance. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and three-stage simple and multiple regression analysis as proposed by Baron and Kenny. Results: The level of elderly care performance of participants was significantly different based on age (F=3.92, p=.010) and nurse's position (t=-2.18, p=.031). Spirituality had a significant mediating effect on the relationship between empathy and elderly care performance (Z=3.64, p<.001). Conclusion: As spirituality completely mediates the relationship between empathy and elderly care performance, it is necessary to develop a nursing education program that applies spirituality and empathy and supports religious activities at an institutional level.

중학생의 공감능력이 장애학생 수용태도에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Middle School Students' Empathic Ability on Receptive Attitude to Students with Disabilities)

  • This study is about the influence of middle school students' empathic ability on receptive attitude to students with disabilities. The questionnaire survey is used to measure cognitive, emotional empathy ability and the attitude of acceptance for students with disabilities targeting 300 students of middle school 2,3 grades. Empathy ability consists of 20 questions and the attitude of acceptance for students with disabilities is composed of 31 questions, which are three sub-areas like personal life, school life and learning activities. After subjects were divided into top 30%, middle 40% and bottom 30% according to their empathy ability, the attitude of acceptance for students with disabilities was measured. The results are as follows. There was a difference between groups in receptive attitude as a whole and the sub-areas. And the top group with high empathy ability had more acceptable attitude. In particular, there was a significant difference in the acceptance attitude for students with disabilities depending on the level of cognitive empathy ability rather than emotional empathy ability.

TV 맛집 프로그램의 정보특성이 외식소비자의 감정이입과 태도, 방문의도에 미치는 영향 연구 (Effect of TV Restaurant Review Program Attributes on Food Service Consumer's Empathy, Attitude, and Visit Intentions)

  • Recently, many TV restaurant programs become popular, and TV restaurant programs have a big impact on Korean restaurant consumers. The purpose of this study was to understand the effects of information attributes in Korean TV restaurant review programs food service customer's empathy, attitudes and visit intention. Based on a total of 254 samples obtained from the empirical research, this study reviewed the reliability and fitness of the research model using the Amos program. The hypothesized relationships in the model were tested simultaneously by using structural equation model (SEM). SEM showed that the beneficialness (${\beta}=.187$, p<.01), amusement (${\beta}=.427$, p<.001) and vividness (${\beta}=.243$, p<.01) showed positive significant effects on customer's empathy. Customer's empathy had a positive significant effect on attitudes (${\beta}=.645$, p<.001) and visit intentions (${\beta}=.157$, p<.001). The information attributes of TV restaurant programs and the causal relationship between empathy of consumers were examined. We also verified that empathy positively affects attitudes toward intentions to visit restaurants introduced on TV restaurant programs. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.
