  • This study was evaluated the antiatopic activity of silkworm feces extracts in DNCBinduced NC/Nga atopy mice. It was found that each level of IgE and histamine in blood was significantly decreased in the silkworm feces extracts treatment groups, compared with the DNCB-induced atopy control group. When the silkworm feces extracts was applied to the atopy mice, it could be observed that its skin recovered to normal condition with the skin surface being clean and smooth without any tissue. The results suggest that the application of silkworm feces extracts effect on atopic model through a inhibition of histamine emissions with reducing the levels of blood IgE in NC/Nga atopy mice.

  • The bulk motion of star clusters can be determined after careful membership analysis using parametric or non-parametric approaches. This study aims to implement non-parametric membership analysis based on Binned Kernel Density Estimators which takes into account measurements errors (simply called BKDE-e) to determine the average proper motion of each cluster. This method is applied to 178 selected star clusters with angular diameters less than 20 arcminutes. Proper motion data from UCAC4 are used for membership determination. Non-parametric analysis using BKDE-e successfully determined the average proper motion of 129 clusters, with good accuracy. Compared to COCD and NCOVOCC, there are 79 clusters with less than $3{\sigma}$ difference. Moreover, we are able to analyse the distribution of the member stars in vector point diagrams which is not always a normal distribution.

  • The main question addressed in this research was whether an adaptation of a standard exercise Physiology Procedure would be sensitive enough to record excess oxygen uptake associated with speech activity. Oxygen consumption was recorded for a single subject during 7-minute rest periods and an automatic speech task, also 7-minutes long and performed at three different vocal efforts. The data show measurable and systematic speech-induced modifications of breathing and oxygen uptake patterns. The subject was found to use less power for normal than for soft and loud speech. This result is similar to findings reported by experimental biologists on the energetics of locomotion. However, more comprehensive feasibility studies need to be undertaken on a larger population before solid and detailed conclusions about speech energy costs are possible. However, it appears clear that, for experimental tasks like the present one, i.e., variations in vocal effort, standard exercise physiology methods may indeed offer a viable approach to recording excess oxygen uptake associated with speech movements.

  • Many authors have studied several concepts of fuzzy systems. Balasubramaniam and Muralisankar (2004) proved the existence and uniqueness of fuzzy solutions for the semilinear fuzzy integrodifferential equation with nonlocal initial condition. Recently, Park, Park and Kwun (2006) find the sufficient condition of nonlocal controllability for the semilinear fuzzy integrodifferential equation with nonlocal initial condition. In this paper, we study the existence and uniqueness of solutions for the semilinear fuzzy integrodifferential equations with nonlocal condition and forcing term with memory in $E_{N}$ by using the concept of fuzzy number whose values are normal, convex, upper semicontinuous and compactly supported interval in $E_{N}$.

  • The deformation under radial pressure of rectangular dies for metal powder compaction has been investigated by FEM. The explored variables have been: aspect ratio of die profile, ratio between diagonal of the profile and die height, insert and ring thickness, radius at die corners, interference, different insert materials, i. e. conventional HSS, HSS from powders, cemented carbide (10% Co). The analyses have ascertained the unwanted appearance of tensile normal stress on brittle materials, also "at rest", and even some dramatic changes of stress patterns as the die height increases with respect to the rectangular profile dimensions. Different materials behave differently, mainly due to difference of thermal expansion coefficients. Profile changes occur when the dies are heated up to the temperature required for warm compaction. The deformation patterns depend on compaction temperature and thermal expansion coefficients.

  • A gene encoding thermostable pectinase (TmPec) was isolated from hyperthermophilic microorganism, Thermotoga maritima. The open reading frame (ORF) of TmPec gene is 1,104 bp long and encodes 367 amino acid residues with a molecular weight of 40,605 Da. To analyze the enzymatic activity and biochemical properties, the ORF of TmPec gene excluding putative signal sequence of 27 amino acids was introduced into the E. coli expression vector, pRSET-B, and overexpressed in E. coli BL21. Protein concentration of purified recombinant TmPec was 1.1 mg/mL with specific activity of 56 U/mg protein on pectin. The recombinant TmPec showed the highest activity at around $85-95^{\circ}C$, and at around pH 6.5. It was stable at temperature below $85^{\circ}C$. In the presence of $Ca^{2+}$, the activity of recombinant TmPec was increased to 146.3% of normal level. In contrast, $Ba^{2+}$ and Mn2+ showed strong inhibition to the recombinant TmPec.

  • The residual birefringence in molded plastic parts can be divided into two kinds of residual birefringence, i.e., the flow induced residual birefringence produced in flowing stages and the thermally induced residual birefringence produced in cooling stage. In this paper, the effect of new injection-press molding process with normal injection mold, i.e. I) injection-compression mode, ii) injection-press mode, on the distribution of birefringence was studied. It was found that the values of the birefringence was reduced at i) low clamping force and ii) longer mold opening length by injection-press molding.

  • Higher number in colony counts in coliforms, total aerobes, and anerobes was obtained from marketable soy-bean mash than front that in fermented tank. The ratio between coliform contamination and total viable cells was higher in red pepper mash than in soy-bean mash. E. coli, contaminated in soy-bean mash persisted longer at low temperature ($0^{\circ}C$-$^5{\circ}C$) than at room temperature and they vanished after seven days of storage at room temperature. At 30.deg.C and 35.deg.C, these organisms were more effected than at room temperature. E. coli cells, inoculated in red pepper mash, were not recovered at room temperature after five days incubation. Soy-bean mash, completely fermented at normal conditions, were detected to contain $10^8$- $10^9$ organisms per gram of sample. On the contrary, marketable soy-bean mash were found to have more than 10$^{9}$ per gram samples. Since samples were found to have more than $10^9$ aerobes and anaerobes per gram, contamination of coliforms seemed to be apparent.

  • The first human case of Diplogonoporus balaenoperae infection is reported in Korea. The pattent was a 41-year old male who passed a part of cestode strobila, about 1m long, spontaneously in his stool. He used to eat raw marine fish when he drank alcohol. The Worm was identified as D. balaenopterae after morhological observations and literature reveiw. Results of laboratory examination were within normal limits except for slight eosinophilia (6%) and extraordinarily high serum Ig E level (10, 182 IU/ml).

  • Because of the advantages of certificateless and no escrow feature over the regular signature and identity-based signature, certificateless signature has been widely applied in e-business, e-government and software security since it was proposed in 2003. Although a number of certificateless signature schemes have been proposed, there is only one lattice-based certificateless signature scheme which is still secure in the quantum era. But its efficiency is not very satisfactory. In this paper, the first certificateless signature scheme on NTRU lattice is proposed, which is proven to be secure in random oracle model. Moreover, the efficiency of the new scheme is higher than that of the only one lattice-based certificateless signature.
