Electronic Paper Displays (EPDs) incorporating electrophoretic foils have made digital reading as pleasant as reading normal print. We will report on progress to replace glass-based displays with light and robust plastic EPDs using only a few extra process steps in a standard TFT-LCD factory.

A non-parametric procedure is presented for testing exponentially against used better than aged in convex ordering class (UBAC) of life distributions based on u-test. Convergence of the proposed statistic to the normal distribution is proved. Selected critical values are tabulated for sample sizes 5(5)40. The Pitman asymptotic relative efficiency of my proposed test to tests of other classes is studied. An example of 40 patients suffering from blood cancer disease demonstrates practical application of the proposed test.

In this paper, it will be assumed that there are two distinct populations which are multivariate normal with equal covariance matrix. We also assume that the two populations are equally likely and the costs of misclassification are equal. The classification rule depends on the situation when the training samples include missing values or not. We consider the bootstrap confidence intervals for classification error rate when a block of observation is missing.

In this paper we investigate complete spacelike (r - 1)-maximal (i.e., $H_r\;{\equiv}\;0$) hypersurfaces with two distinct principal curvatures in the anti-de Sitter space $\mathbb{H}_1^{n+1}$(-1). We give a characterization of the hyperbolic cylinder.

A modified perturbation method is proposed to optimize the beam pattern of thinned microphone arrays. Both microphone spacing and array weight are iteratively adjusted via successive perturbation to achieve an optimum beam pattern in a Dolph Chebyshev sense. To improve the sidelobe performance, an alternative perturbation with respect to microphone spacing and array weight is implemented. Also, a linear space-tapering is employed in the perturbation process. It is demonstrated that the proposed approaches successfully yield sidelobe performances comparable to that of a normal array. Computer simulation results are presented.

Absorption and fluorescence studies of E-1-(p-methoxyphenyl)-2-(p-nitrophenyl) ethene in homogeneous solvents, polymer matrix and normal and reverse micelles showing strong solvatochromic fluorescent emission properties with quasi-planar intramolecular charge transfer characteristics in the electronically excited singlet state are discussed.

Based on the goodness of fit approach, a new test is presented for testing exponentiality versus exponential better (worse) than used (EBU (EWU)) class of life distributions. The new test is much simpler to compute, asymptotically normal, enjoys good power and performs better than previous tests in terms of power and Pitman asymptotic efficiencies for several alternatives.
