This paper describes the analysis of dynamic characteristics and prediction of the stiffness for the joint between structural members. In the process of deriving the governing equations, the stiffness values responsible for the moment and shear force were modelled by using linear and torsional springs in the middle of a clamped-clamped beam. The sensitivities of the natural frequency and modal assurance criterion were investigated as a function of the dimensionless linear and torsional spring stiffness. The reliability of the predictions for the linear and torsional stiffness values was verified by the inverse computations of the stiffness matrix. The predictive and exact theoretical stiffness values were compared for the stiffness element in the finite element formulation, and their results show an excellent correlation. It is strongly anticipated that although the proposed methodology is currently limited to the analytical utilization, it will provide a useful tool to estimate unknown joint stiffness values based on the experimental natural frequency and mode shape.
To understand the basic physics underlying large spatial fluctuations of intensity and Doppler shift, we have investigated the dynamical charctersitics of the transition region of the quiet sun by analyzing a raster scan of high resolution UV spectral band containing H Lyman lines and a S VI line. The spectra were taken from a quiet area of $100'\times100'$ located near the disk center by SUMER on board SOHO. The spectral band ranges from 906 A to 950 A with spatial and spectral resolution of 1v and $0.044 {\AA}$, respectively. The parameters of individual spectral lines were determined from a single Gaussian fit to each spectral line. Then, spatial correlation analyses have been made among the line parameters. Important findings emerged from the present analysis are as follows. (1) The integrated intensity maps of the observed area of H I 931 line $(1\times10^4 K)$ and S VI 933 line $(2\times10^5 K)$ look very smilar to each other with the same characterstic size of 5". An important difference, however, is that the intensity ratio of brighter network regions to darker cell regions is much larger in S VI 933 line than that in H I 931 line. (2) Dynamical features represented by Doppler shifts and line widths are smaller than those features seen in intensity maps. The features are found to be changing rapidly with time within a time scale shorter than the integration time, 110 seconds, while the intensity structure remains nearly unchanged during the same time interval. (3) The line intensity of S VI is quite strongly correlated with that of H I lines, but the Doppler shift correlation between the two lines is not as strong as the intensity correlation. The correlation length of the intensity structure is found to be about 5.7' (4100 km), which is at least 3 times larger than that of the velocity structure. These findings support the notion that the basic unit of the transition region of the quiet sun is a loop-like structure with a size of a few $10^3 km$, within which a number of unresolved smaller velocity structures are present.
Following the advanced fuel cycle initiative (AFCI) promotions in the United States, the analytic proposition for global fuel cycle initiative (GFCI) has been investigated using dynamical simulations. The political and economic aspects are considered simultaneously due to the particular characteristics of the nuclear materials. The spent nuclear fuels (SNFs) are treated as the reprocessing by the nuclear non-proliferation treaty (NPT) exemption nations and the NPT excluded nations. Otherwise, the pyroprocessing and repository can be done without NPT restriction. In addition, the international trade is considered as the economic aspect where the energy production is a key issue of the GFCI. The dynamical simulations have been done until 2050. The result of the International Trade shows the gradually increasing shape. Additionally, the Nuclear Power Plant Operation shows the increasing by stepwise shape.
Nonlinear dynamical behaviors of plasma in the Pierce diode are investigated by a numerical code developed using a one dimensional fluid model. The plasma in Pierce diode is alternately stable and unstable as Pierce parameter is changed. The dynamical characteristics of neutral and non-neutral Pierce system is examined analytically and numerically. It alternately has growing and oscillatory mode as Pierce parameter varies. As Pierce parameter is decreased, each oscillatory mode undergoes a sequence of subharmonic period-doubling bifurcation and then culminate in a chaotic strange attractor. The analysis for this nonlinear behavior can be used as a model for understanding of beam-plasma interaction in more complex geometries and a data for chaos control.

In the recent years, as the research and the development of micro and precision machinery become active, the interest of micro actuators using SMA(Shape Memory Alloy) has been increased. The dynamic characteristic analysis of SMA is necessary for actuator application and many common researches report the material characteristics of SMA sufficiently. However, the research of dynamic characteristics is very deficient. In this paper, the helical spring is fabricated with NiTi SMA wire of high resistivity The force, response speed, temperature, and displacement are measured by digital force gauge, infrared thermometer, and laser displacement sensor so that the dynamic characteristics of this SMA actuator is analyzed.

Frozen orbit is an attractive option for orbital design owing to its characteristics (its argument of pericenter and eccentricity are kept constant on an average). Solar sails are attractive solutions for massive and expensive missions. However, the solar radiation pressure effect represents an additional force on the solar sail that may greatly affect its orbital behavior in the long run. Thus, this force must be included as a perturbation force in the dynamical model for more accuracy. This study shows the calculations of initial conditions for a lunar solar sail frozen orbit. The disturbing function of the problem was developed to include the lunar gravitational field that is characterized by uneven mass distribution, third body perturbation, and the effect of solar radiation. An averaging technique was used to reduce the dynamical problem to a long period system. Lagrange planetary equations were utilized to formulate the rate of change of the argument of pericenter and eccentricity. Using the reduced system, frozen orbits for the Moon sail orbiter were constructed. The resulting frozen orbits are shown by two 3Dsurface (semi-major, eccentricity, inclination) figures. To simplify the analysis, we showed inclination-eccentricity contours for different values of semi-major axis, argument of pericenter, and values of sail lightness number.

Cellular Automata is discrete dynamical systems which natural phenomena may be specified completely in terms of local relation. In this Paper we Propose noise removal and edge detection algorithm using a Potts Automata which is based on Cellular Automata. The proposed method is aimed to locally increase or decrease the differences in gray level values between pixel of the image without loss of the main characteristics of the image. The dynamical behavior of these automata is determined by Lyapunov operators for sequential and parallel update. We have found that proposed automata rules Present very fast convergence to fixed points, stability in front of random noisy images. Based on the experimental results we discuses the advantage and efficiency.
This paper proposes a new method of Model Predictive Control (MPC) of nonlinear process by us-ing the measured Volterra kernels as the nonlinear model. A nonlinear dynamical process is usually de-scribed as Volterra kernel representation, In the authors' method, a pseudo-random M-sequence is ar plied to the nonlinear process, and its output is measured. Taking the crosscorrelation between the input and output, we obtain the Volterra kernels up to 3rd order which represent the nonlinear characteristics of the process. By using the measured Volterra kernels, we can construct the nonlinear model for MPC. In applying Model Predictive Control to a nonlinear process, the most important thing is, in general, what kind of nonlinear model should be used. The authors used the measured Volterra kernels of up to 3rd order as the process model. The authors have carried out computer simulations and compared the simulation results for the linear model, the nonlinear model up to 2nd Volterra kernel, and the nonlinear model up to 3rd order Vol-terra kernel. The results of computer simulation show that the use of Valterra kernels of up to 3rd order is most effective for Model Predictive Control of nonlinear dynamical processes.
This article presents a unified mathematical model to investigate free and forced vibration responses of perforated thin and thick beams. Analytical models of the equivalent geometrical and material characteristics for regularly squared perforated beam are developed. Because of the shear deformation regime increasing in perforated structures, the investigation of dynamical behaviors of these structures becomes more complicated and effects of rotary inertia and shear deformation should be considered. So, both Euler-Bernoulli and Timoshenko beam theories are proposed for thin and short (thick) beams, respectively. Mathematical closed forms for the eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenvectors as well as the forced vibration time response are derived. The validity of the developed analytical procedure is verified by comparing the obtained results with both analytical and numerical analyses and good agreement is detected. Numerical studies are presented to illustrate effects of beam slenderness ratio, filling ratio, as well as the number of holes on the dynamic behavior of perforated beams. The obtained results and concluding remarks are helpful in mechanical design and industrial applications of large devices and small systems (MEMS) based on perforated structure.

In this paper, we propose a novel dynamical love model of Romeo and Juliet, which has an external force with a fuzzy membership function. The external force used in the model has the characteristics of a Gaussian function. The chaotic behavior in the model is demonstrated using time series and phase portraits.
