  • This paper describes the circuit and the layout of the shift register which can be used for a scanner of image sensor. P-well concentration and threshold voltage for proper iperation are calculated on the basso of the fixed process and the layout design. The calculation procedure of maximum operation frequency is also carried out. It is ascertained by SPICE simulation that the shift register produces the outputn pulse without threshold voltage loss up to 13MHz.

  • Hearing aids play an very important role in aural rehabilitation for hearing impaired person who could not be medically treated. Especially, hearing aids with dynamic range compression (level dependent frequency response: LDFR) method concentrated dynamic output range of receiver into the narrowing dynamic range of sensorineural hearing impaired person. Thus, if aided hearing threshold level is improved and uncomfortable loudness level rises, then the users of hearing aids are favored with extended dynamic range. This study aims to evaluate audiological benefits in dynamic range compression hearing aids. To achieve this, pure tone and speech audiometry were examined to 15 children and 3 adults with narrow dynamic range moderate-to-severe binaural sensorineural hearing loss.

  • PURPOSES : The objective of this study was to evaluate the results of the dynamic immersion test (DIT) through digital image analysis (DIA). METHODS : The asphalt binder retained post DIT was inspected visually by more than three investigators. However, because visual observations can be subjective, depending on the inspector's skills and knowledge, DIA was also performed. The threshold value for the DIA was determined by a mesh analysis, in which the digital image to be analyzed is divided into very small meshes. In addition, the bitumen bond strength (BBS) test was also performed to the compare the visual results with the mechanical values. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS : Depending on the materials used, various methods can be used to predict the behavior of retained asphalt. However, the increasing ratio in the trend of retained asphalt shows different behaviors among the evaluation methods. In this study, the results of the visual observations were significantly different from those of the DIA, the mesh analysis, and the BBS tests. Thus, DIA is an appropriate method for evaluating the results of the DIT. However, in order to use this technique in the field, it is necessary to determine a more reasonable threshold value by performing DIA on various materials.

  • In this paper, a Hybrid Scaling based DTW (HS-DTW) mechanism is proposed for detection of periodic shrew TCP attacks. A low-rate TCP attack which is a type of shrew DoS (Denial of Service) attacks, was reported recently, but it is difficult to detect the attack using previous flooding DoS detection mechanisms. A pattern matching method with DTW (Dynamic Time Warping) as a type of defense mechanisms was shown to be reasonable method of detecting and defending against a periodic low-rate TCP attack in an input traffic link. This method, however, has the problem that a legitimate link may be misidentified as an attack link, if the threshold of the DTW value is not reasonable. In order to effectively discriminate between attack traffic and legitimate traffic, the difference between their DTW values should be large as possible. To increase the difference, we analyze a critical problem with a previous algorithm and introduce a scaling method that increases the difference between DTW values. Four kinds of scaling methods are considered and the standard deviation of the sampling data is adopted. We can select an appropriate scaling scheme according to the standard deviation of an input signal. This is why the HS-DTW increases the difference between DTW values of legitimate and attack traffic. The result is that the determination of the threshold value for discrimination is easier and the probability of mistaking legitimate traffic for an attack is dramatically reduced.

  • Traditional Internet applications such as FIP and E-mail are increasingly sharing bandwidth with newer, more demanding applications such as Web browsing, IP telephony, video conference and online games. These new applications require Quality of Service (QoS), in terms of delay, loss and throughput that are different from QoS requirements of traditional applications. Unfortunately, current Active Queue Management (AQM) approaches offer monolithic best-effort service to all Internet applications regardless of the current QoS requirements. This paper proposes and evaluates a new AQM technique, called MCDT that provides dynamic and separated buffer threshold for each Applications, those are FTP and e-mail on TCP traffic, streaming services on tagged UDP traffic, and the other services on untagged UDP traffic. Using a new QoS metric, our simulations demonstrate that MCDT yields higher QoS in terms of the delay variation and a packet loss than RED when there are heavy UDP traffics that include streaming applications and data applications. MCDT fits the current best-effort Internet environment without high complexity.

  • The high efficiency power management IC(PMIC) with DTMOS(Dynamic Threshold voltage MOSFET) switching device and DTMOS Error Amplifier is presented in this paper. PMIC is controlled with PWM control method in order to have high power efficiency at high current level. Dynamic Threshold voltage CMOS(DT-CMOS) with low on-resistance is designed to decrease conduction loss. The control parts in Buck converter, that is, PWM control circuits consist of a saw-tooth generator, a band-gap reference circuit, an DT-CMOS error amplifier and a comparator circuit as a block. the proposed DT-CMOS Error Amplifier has 72dB DC gain and 83.5deg phase margin. also Error Amplifier that use DTMOS more than CMOS showed power consumption decrease of about 30%. DC-DC converter, based on Voltage-mode PWM control circuits and low on-resistance switching device is achieved the high efficiency near 96% at 100mA output current. And DC-DC converter is designed with Low Drop Out regulator(LDO regulator) in stand-by mode which fewer than 1mA for high efficiency.

  • In this paper, we explore a new type of Android evasive malware based on the Sequential Probability Ratio Test (SPRT) that does not perform malicious task when it discerns that dynamic analyzer is input generator. More specifically, a new type of Android evasive malware leverages the intuition that dynamic analyzer provides as many inputs within a certain amount of time as possible to Android apps to be tested, while human users generally provide necessary inputs to Android apps to be used. Under this intuition, it harnesses the SPRT to discern whether dynamic analyzer runs in Android system or not in such a way that the number of inputs per time slot exceeding a preset threshold is regarded as evidence that inputs are provided by dynamic analyzer, expediting the SPRT to decide that dynamic analyzer operates in Android system and evasive malware does not carry out malicious task.

  • An accurate threshold voltage extraction scheme for MOS transistors is presented. In contrast to alternative methods recently reported in the literature, this scheme does not need matched replica of the transistor under test, and thus can be applied more effectively and accurately to raal-time on-chip applications where threshold voltage measurements are required for many transistors with various geometries and bias conditions. The proposed scheme is accurately implemented in a matching-free way using a ratio-indepentent switched-capacitor subtracting amplifier and a dynamic current mirror. Nonideal effects associated with these circuits have been investiggated and compensated.
