An understanding of the mechanism of concrete girders repaired with CFRP plates and its influence on the dynamic parameters is presented in this paper. Dynamic parameters are governed by the relationship with the physical properties of concrete girders and CFRP plates as well as the adhesive layer between them. A brief explanation of the mechanism of the composite action of concrete girders repaired with CFRP is also given in this paper. Experimental work was carried out to validate the theory of the composite action. The results show a decrease in the modal parameters of CFRP repaired girders that were turned over during the repair procedure, which contrasts with the proven static-based results that CFRP plates increase the stiffness of repaired girders. The composite action theory has explained the results based on the tension and compression forces' growth at the adhesive layer between the CFRP plates and girder surface during the repair procedure. Other girders were prepared and repaired without turning over in order to avoid tension and compression forces at the adhesive layer. The experimental results show an increase in the dynamic parameters of CFRP repaired girders that were not turned over during the repair procedure, which aligns with the static-based results. The study concludes that the dynamic parameters are excellent indicators for the assessment of CFRP repaired concrete girders. The study also suggests that researchers should not turn over damaged concrete girders to repair them with CFRP plates if they intend to study the dynamic parameters, in order to avoid the proposed composite action effect on modal parameters.
Production innovation capabilities are critical to the survival and growth of firms. This paper investigates industrial dynamics and dynamic capabilities of firms by looking at how an industry evolution process influences firms' product innovation strategy and how dynamic capabilities affect firms' product innovation process. Korea Wireless Internet industry shows a full cycle of industry evolution process including introduction phase, growth phase, maturity phase, and decline phase using by dynamic technological and market changes. 7 listed companies in Korea Wireless Internet industry were selected. We have conducted multiple case studies based upon in depth interviews. Empirical results show that different phases of industry evolution influence firms' strategy of product innovation. Dynamic capabilities are also appears to be very important to the survival and growth of a firm.
ARF is an alternative reading frame product of the INK4a/ARF locus, inactivated in numerous human cancers. ARF is a key regulator of cellular senescence, an irreversible cell growth arrest that suppresses tumor cell growth. It functions by sequestering MDM2 (a p53 E3 ligase) in the nucleolus, thus activating p53. Besides MDM2, ARF has numerous other interacting partners that induce either cellular senescence or apoptosis in a p53-independent manner. This further complicates the dynamics of the ARF network. Expression of ARF is frequently disrupted in human cancers, mainly due to epigenetic and transcriptional regulation. Vigorous studies on various transcription factors that either positively or negatively regulate ARF transcription have been carried out. However, recent focus on posttranslational modifications, particularly ubiquitination, indicates wider dynamic controls of ARF than previously known. In this review, we discuss the role and dynamic regulation of ARF in senescence and cancer.

In the cases of high speed railway bridge, dynamic behavior analysis is important because of high passing velocity and moving load at the regular intervals, and the damping ratio is a major element in dynamic behavior analysis. In this paper, damping ratios were estimated by two methods and vibration type sections, and relationship between estimated damping ratio and representative value of bridge vibration. At the results, estimated damping ratio using all time of vibration were more stable then using only free vibration section. And in the case of using extended Kalman filter, estimated damping ratio were trend of growth by growth of representative value of bridge vibration. At last, it was shown that study about reliabilities of estimated damping ratios were need.
Most modeling about dynamic behavior of Antiferroelectric Liquid Crystal (AFLC) is limited to the hysteric characteristics of AFLC cells or thresholdless switching of frustrated AFLC cells. In this paper, domain growth of AFLC cells is modeled with extended bilayer model. When driving pulses that consist of a selection voltage, a bias voltage, and a reset voltage are applied to the AFLC cell, its dynamic behavior is simulated.
The physical properties of rubber blend between natural rubber(NR) and ethylene propylene diene terpolymer(EPDM) were investigated as a study of EPDM composite materials. For EPDM/NR blends, the effects of ethylene and diene contents in EPDM, blend ratio, dicumyl peroxide(DCP) curing system on the physical properties, interfacial adhesion force and dynamic crack growth etc. were studied. EPDM/NR blends loaded with carbon black were prepared by mechanical mixing and cured by plate heating cure press. Crosslinking density was measured by swelling method with toluene. The physical properties of all blends were measured with Instron, fatigue to failure(FTF), Demattia flex cracking tester(DMFC), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), etc. As the ethylene and diene contents in EPDM increased, the physical properties, such as dynamic crack growth, adhesion to other component were increased too. Interfacial adhesion force of EPDM/NR blends to dissimilar layer was improved by the use of optimum peroxide curing system.

In the case of heat exchangers operating under frosting condition, the growth of frost layer causes the heat exchanger to increase the thermal resistance and pressure loss of the air flow. In this paper, a transient characteristic prediction model of the heat transfer for multi inverter heat pump with frosting on its surface was presented taking into account the change of the fin efficiency due to the growth of the frost layer. In this dynamic simulation program, which was peformed for a basic air conditioning system model, such as evaporator, condenser, compressor, linear electronic expansion valve (LEV) and bypass circuit. The theoretical model was driven from the obtained heat transfer coefficient and mass transfer coefficient, independently. And we consider heat transfer performance was only affected by a decrease of the wind flow area. The calculated results were compared with some cases of experiments for frosting conditions.
This paper investigates the relationships between exports, firm size, and firm dynamics. It is based on a longitudinal data covering listed firms in the Korean manufacturing industry. We found the stylized fact that the probability that a firm is exporter increases with firm size. A regression model for the determinant of export/sales ratio including dynamic adjustment process is tested on a cross-section sample for the year 2001. Empirical findings suggest that there is a positive and inversely U-shaped relationship between firm size and export/sales ratio, just for basic material and capital good industry. Except for firm size, the hypotheses concerning human capital intensity, physical capital intensity, R&D intensity, and patent are rejected. Using Granger causality test, we found that the rate of growth of total sales influences the change of the export/sales ratio with time lag for medium-sized firms. Finally, some policy implications are presented.

Dynamic hand gesture recognition(d-HGR) plays an important role in human-computer interaction(HCI) system. With the growth of hand-pose estimation as well as 3D depth sensors, depth, and the hand-skeleton dataset is proposed to bring much research in depth and 3D hand skeleton approaches. However, it is still a challenging problem due to the low resolution, higher complexity, and self-occlusion. In this paper, we propose a hand-shape feature extraction(HSFE) network to produce robust hand-shapes. We build a hand-shape model, and hand-skeleton based on LSTM to exploit the temporal information from hand-shape and motion changes. Fusion between two models brings the best accuracy in dynamic hand gesture (DHG) dataset.

There are two kinds of the design criteria of piping system in petrochemical plant design. The first is on static state evaluation by thermal growth and the other is on dynamic evaluation by piping vibration. In the static design evaluation, the ASME B31.3 code defines 7000 cycles of fatigue life in operating the piping system with design condition. However, the dynamic design evaluation in comparative with small displacements of high frequencies to static condition has not established clearly the method, yet. So, this study purposes to present the trial of a proposal of dynamic design criterion on the basis of static design method.
