  • Along with the trend of internet use, various web application developments have been performed to provide information that was managed in the internal database on the web by making a web server page. However, in most cases, a direct program was made without a systematic developmental methodology or with the application of a huge developmental methodology that is inappropriate and decreased the efficiency of the development. A web application that fails to follow a systematic developmental methodology and uses a script language can decrease the productivity of the program development, maintenance, and reuse. In this thesis, the auto writing tool for a dynamic web server page was designed and established by using a database for web application development based on a fast and effective script. It suggests a regularized script model and makes a standardized script for the data bound control tag creator by analyzing a dynamic web server page pattern with the database in order to contribute to productivity by being used in the web application development and maintenance.

  • In this paper, we propose a dynamic job relocation strategy that considering application's characteristics in multiple grid sites. This scheme classifies application to execute in multiple grid sites by their characteristics : computing intensive application, network intensive application. Also, it eliminates the communication between sites by allocating the network intensive application in single site, thus reducing the total job execution time. But if a number of free nodes to execute the network intensive application aren't found in single site, the proposed scheme the first allocates the network intensive application in multiple sites to minimize network latency. Then if the network intensive application being executed in multiple sites suitable free nodes are found in single site. the proposed scheme relocates the application being executed in multiple sites to another single site. This results in reducing the total job execution time. Through simulation, we show that the proposed dynamic job reallocation strategy improves the performance of Data Grid environment compared with previous strategies.

  • The results of the application of shape memory alloy (SMA) prestressing devices on an aqueduct are presented in this paper. The aqueduct was built in 1747 to provide water to the city of Larnaca and to its port. Because of its importance to the cultural heritage of Cyprus, the aqueduct has been selected as one of the case-study monuments in the project Wide-Range Non-Intrusive devices toward Conservation of Historical Monuments in the Mediterranean Area (WIND-CHIME). The Department of Antiquities of Cyprus, acting in a pioneering way, have given their permission to apply the devices in order to investigate their effectiveness in providing protection to the monument against probable catastrophic effects of earthquake excitation. The dynamic characteristics of the structure were determined in two separate occasions and computational models were developed that matched very closely the dynamic characteristics of the structure. In this paper the experimental setup and the measured changes in the dynamic characteristics of the monument after the application of the SMA devices are described.

  • In servo system demanding precision dynamic characteristics, application of the Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Machines (PMLSM) has advantage of analysis convenience by simple geometry and thrust ripple reduction from the sinusoidal back electromotive force and excited stator. Therefore, this paper presents design of surface-mounted PMLSM with slotless iron cored stator according to coil turns to satisfy the rate thrust. Also, from dynamic analysis for servo application of manufactured motor with heavy mass, we offer accurate range of the DC link voltage and acceleration in rate speed. This is applied to speed reference profile considering system characteristics in total length of moving position.

  • This paper presents a new dynamic human reliability analysis method and its application for quantifying the human error probabilities in implementing management action. For comparisons of current HRA methods with the new method, the characteristics of THERP, HCR, and SLIM-MAUD, which are most frequency used method in PSAs, are discussed. The action associated with implementation of the cavity flooding during a station blackout sequence is considered for its application. This method is based on the concepts of the quantified correlation between the performance requirement and performance achievement. The MAAP 3.0B code and Latin Hypercube sampling technique are used to determine the uncertainty of the performance achievement parameter. Meanwhile, the value of the performance requirement parameter is obtained from interviews. Based on these stochastic obtained, human error probabilities are calculated with respect to the various means and variances of the things. It is shown that this method is very flexible in that it can be applied to any kind of the operator actions, including the actions associated with the implementation of accident management strategies.

  • Dynamic loading of structures often causes excursions of stresses well into the inelastic range and the influence of geometric changes on the dynamic response is also significant in many cases. Therefore, both material and geometric nonlinearity effects should be considered in case that a dynamic load acts on the structure. For developing a program to analyze the dynamic response of an axisymmetric shell in this study, the material nonlinearity effect on the dynamic response was formulated by the elasto-viscoplastic model highly corresponding to the real behavior of the material. Also, the geometrically nonlinear behavior is taken into account using a total Lagrangian coordinate system, and the equilibrium equation of motion was numerically solved by a central difference scheme. A complete finite element program has been developed and the results obtained by it are compared with those in the references 1 and 2. The results are in good agreement with each other. As a case study of its application, the developed program was applied to a dynamic response analysis of a nuclear reinforced concrete containment structure. The results obtained from the' numerical examples are summarized as follows : 1. The dynamic magnification factor of the displacement and the stress were unrelated with the concrete strength. 2. As shown by the results that the displacement dynamic magnification factor were form 1.7 to 2.3 and the stress dynamic magnification factor from 1.8 to 2.5, the dynamic magnification factor of stress were larger than that of displacement. 3. The dynamic magnification factor of stress on the exterior surface was larger than that on the interior surface of the structure.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study is to apply kinesiology taping and dynamic taping to subjects with ankle instability and to find out the change of static balance and dynamic balance ability and to use it more usefully in daily life. Methods : The subjects were based on 30 Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool questionnaire scores of 24 or less, and were randomly assigned to the kinesiology taping group (n=15) and the dynamic taping group (n=15) to change the static balance and dynamic balance before and after taping Measured. The eyes were closed for 30 seconds and the average balance was measured three times through the Wii balance board in static balance, and the balance ability was evaluated by measuring functional reach test and star excursion balance test in dynamic balance. Results : As a result, the static balance showed significant results in the dynamic speed and the moving distance in the dynamic taping group (p<.05). However, there was no significant difference in the shaking area and the difference in the kinesiology taping group (p<.05) However, both groups showed significant differences in dynamic balance (p<.05). Conclusion : It was confirmed that the application of taping was effective for static and dynamic balance in subjects with ankle instability, and the application of dynamic taping was more effective than kinesiology taping.

  • Wave equation analysis programs (WEAP) such as GRLWEAP and TNOWave were primarily developed for pre-driving analysis. They can also be used for post-driving measurement applications with some refinements. In the case of pre-driving analysis, the programs are used for the purpose of selecting the right equipment for a given ground condition and controlling stresses during pile driving processes. Recently, the program is increasingly used for the post-driving measurement application, where an assessment based on a variety of input parameters such as hammer, driving system and dynamic behaviour of soil is carried out. The process of this type of analysis is quite simple and it is performed by matching accurately known parameters, such as from CAPWAP analysis, to the parameters used in GRLWEAP analysis. The parameters that are refined in the typical analysis are pile stresses, hammer energy, capacity, damping and quakes. Matching of these known quantities by adjusting hammer, cushion and soil parameters in the wave equation program results in blow counts or sets and stresses for other hammer energies and capacities and cushion configuration. The result of this analysis is output on a Bearing Graph that establishes a relationship between ultimate capacity and net set per blow. A further application of this refinement method can be applied to the assessment of dynamic formulae, which are extensively used in pile capacity calculation during pile driving process. In this paper, WEAP analysis is carried out to establish the relationship between the ultimate capacities and sets using the various parameters and using this relationship to recalibrate the dynamic formula. The results of this analysis presented show that some of the shortcoming of the dynamic formula can be overcome and the results can be improved by the introduction of a correction factor.
