OneNAND flash is a high-performance hybrid flash memory that combines the advantages of both NAND flash and NOR flash. OneNAND flash has not only all virtues of NAND flash but also greatly enhanced read performance which is considered as a downside of NAND flash. As a result, it is widely used in mobile applications such as mobile phones, digital cameras, PMP, and portable game players. However, most of the general purpose operating systems, such as Linux, can not exploit the read performance of OneNAND flash because of the restrictions imposed by their virtual memory system and block I/O architecture. In order to solve that problem, we suggest a new approach called virtual I/O segment. By using virtual I/O segment, the superior read performance of OneNAND flash can be exploited without modifying the existing block I/O architecture and MTD subsystem. Experiments by implementations show that this approach can reduce read latency of OneNAND flash as much as 54%.

The rocket grade hydrogen peroxide has been widely used as a monopropellant in propulsion systems. In the present paper, we described an experimental study of a catalytic reactor that employs two stage catalyst beds to enhance the low temperature performance of the reactor. $K_2MnO_4$ was chosen as the catalyst for the initial stage of the reactor bed for its superior behavior in the low temperature regime. LSC was used for the catalyst of the second stage of the reactor. The gas generator with combined catalyst beds was built and tested to exhibit high decomposition efficiency over 90% and successful cold-start characteristics.
Recent seismic events occurred in Italy (Emilia-Romagna 2012, Abruzzo 2009) and worldwide (New Zealand 2010 and 2011) highlighted some of the weaknesses of precast concrete industrial buildings, especially those related to the connecting systems traditionally employed to fasten the cladding panels to the internal framing. In fact, one of the most commons fails it is possible to observe in such structural typologies is related to the out-of-plane collapse of the external walls due to the unsatisfactory behaviour of the connectors used to join the panels to the perimeter beams. In this work, the strengthening of a traditional industrial building, assumed as a case study, made by precast reinforced concrete is proposed by the adoption of a dual system allowing the reinforcement of the structure by acting both internally; by pendular columns and, externally, on the walls. In particular, traditional connections at the top of the walls are substituted by devices able to work as a slider with vertical axis while, the bottom of the walls is equipped with two or more hysteretic dampers working on the uplift of the cladding panels occurring under seismic actions. By means of this approach, the structure is stiffened; obtaining a reduction of the lateral drifts under serviceability limit states. In addition, its seismic behaviour is improved due to the additional source of energy dissipation represented by the dampers located at the base of the walls. The effectiveness of the suggested retrofitting approach has been checked by comparing the performance of the retrofitted structure with those of the structure unreinforced by means of both pushover and Incremental Dynamic Analyses (IDA) in terms of behaviour factor, assumed as a measure of the ductility capacity of the structure.
This study attempts to provide a comparative overview of the liability systems Korean law and the PELS adopt, that is, the approaches taken by Korean law and the PELS to deal with various irregularities of contractual performance. In addition, it examines in a comparative way the questions of what is the position of the seller's liability for his delivery of defective goods under the chosen liability system and what is the legal nature of the seller's liability. The study finds that the dual liability system taken by Korean law has caused some complexities as to the matter of which liability is applicable in some borderline cases. The problem in such complexities is originated in that the remedies available and the limitation period applicable are differentiated in accordance with one's different categorization among three types of default under the general liability and defective performance under the seller's guarantee liability. In this light, the study argues that the unified liability system under the PELS is superior because its concept of non-performance embraces in a unitary manner all the aspects of default including defects in quality, quantity and title. In addition, it finds that Korean law has suffered endless debates on the question of what are the true contents of the same remedies of rescission and damages provided under the seller's guarantee liability as under the general liability. The debates have been come along on the basis of the traditional presumption among some of civil law jurisdictions that two liabilities be different in terms of not only their legal nature but also their contents of remedies. The study argues that the problem may be circumvented, first, by another way of thinking that the unified liability in Korean law is inferred from the specification of the identical remedies for both the general liability and the seller's guarantee liability under the KCC, second, by the preposition that the requirement of fault be depended upon what remedy the buyer seeks to claim rather than what liability he does to rely on.

Consumer expectation is divided into rational and emotional components with regard to the experience of products or services. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between these two types of expectations and consumer satisfaction. For the theoretical framework, we use the dual expectation theory with respect to the should-expectation and will-expectation, and verify their effects on consumer satisfaction. The findings of this study imply that under rational expectation, consumer satisfaction increases when the result of their experience exceeds their expectation and the impact is stronger when the will-expectation is satisfied. Under emotional expectation, consumer satisfaction increases when the should-expectation exceeds the result of the actual performance, but decreases when there is disaccord between the will-expectation and performance. For emotional-based expectation, the impact on consumer satisfaction is stronger for should-expectancy disconfirmation than for will-expectancy disconfirmation.
According to the increase of container flows and the appearance of large-sized container vessels, the container handling equipment in ports is evolving continuously. This research introduces the simulation model for evaluating in detail the mechanical productivity of container cranes. The model considers a single trolley and dual trolleys as the mechanism of a container crane and a single lift, a twin lift, and a tandem lift as the spreader type of it. Additionally, the detail specifications such as the dimension and the speed of a container crane are inputted and the kinematic characteristics of it are simulated. The model also considers the size of a vessel, the storage position of containers in the vessel, and the weight of containers as external physical constraints. Experimental conditions can be configured conveniently because various parameters in the model are separated. Moreover, the model can accommodate flexibly new equipment types and the changes of the existing equipment because it is designed and developed in object-oriented concept.

Many public organizations have been adopting and operating various servers. These servers run on Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems that generally use less than 10% of their capacity. For migrating a public organization to cloud computing, we must first virtualize the server environment. This article proposes a strategy for server virtualization that the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) has done and describes the effects of a public organization migrating to cloud computing. The NIPA Computer Center planned an effective virtualization migration on various servers. This project of virtualization migration was conducted with the existing policy of separate x86 servers and Unix servers. There are three popular approaches to server virtualization: a virtual machine model, a paravirtual machine model, and virtualization at the operating system layer. We selected a VMware solution that uses the virtual machine model. We selected servers for virtualization in the following manner. Servers were chosen that had the highest rate of service usage and CPU usage and had been operating for five years or more. However, we excluded servers that require 80% or greater rates of CPU usage. After adopting the server virtualization technique, we consolidated 32 servers into 3 servers. Virtualization is a technology that can provide benefits in these areas: server consolidation and optimization, infrastructure cost reduction and improved operational flexibility, and implementation of a dual computing environment.

As an astonishing progress of FTTH infrastructure, the new technologies have been widely studied to use the tantalizing benefits of high bandwidth in fiber optic cable. In this paper, a new VONU is presented to perform all necessary optical functions. It can converts digital and analog CATV signals and satellite-based signal transmitted via one fiber optic cable to electrical signals (electric lights). However, most previous VONU systems have the problems such as interference between difference services, signal distortion, and noise increasing rate. These problems cause the quality deterioration in broadcasting. Therefore, we suggest the new VONU system to solve all problems listed above. In addition, we show that how our system performs well by measuring the real data with implemented system.
Interfacial properties and microfailure degradation mechanisms of the bioabsorbable composites for implant materials were investigated using micromechanical technique and measurement of surface wettability. As hydrolysis time increased, the tensile strength, the modulus and the elongation of poly(ester-amide) (PEA) and bioactive glass fibers decreased, whereas those of chitosan fiber almost did not change. Interfacial shear strength (IFSS) between bioactive glass fiber and poly-L-lactide (PLLA) was much higher than PEA or chitosan fiber/PLLA systems using dual matrix composite (DMC) specimen. The decreasing rate of IFSS was the fastest in bioactive glass fiber/PLLA composites whereas that of chitosan fiber/PLLA composites was the slowest. Work of adhesion, $W_a$ between bioactive glass fiber and PLLA was the highest, and the wettability results were consistent with the IFSS. Interfacial properties and microfailure degradation mechanisms can be important factors to control bioabsorbable composite performance.

Background: Fatigue has a strong impact on workers' performance and safety, but expedient methods for assessing fatigue on the job are not yet available. Studies discuss posturography as an indicator of fatigue, but further evidence for its use in the workplace is needed. The purpose of the study is to examine whether posturography is a suitable indicator of fatigue in clerical workers. Methods: Thirty-six employees (${\emptyset}$ 34.8 years, standard deviation = 12.5) participated in postural tasks (eyes open, eyes closed, arm swinging, and dual task) in the morning and afternoon. Position of their center of pressure (COP) was registered using a Nintendo Wii Balance Board and commercial software. From registered COP time series, we calculated the following parameters: path length (mm), velocity (mm/s), anterior-posterior variance (mm), mediolateral variance (mm), and confidence area ($mm^2$). These parameters were reduced to two orthogonal factors in a factor analysis with varimax rotation. Results: Statistical analysis of the first factor (path length and velocity) showed a significant effect of time of day: COP moved along a shorter path at a lower velocity in the afternoon compared with that in the morning. There also was a significant effect of task, but no significant interaction. Conclusion: Data suggest that postural stability of clerical workers was comparable in the morning and afternoon, but COP movement was greater in the morning. Within the framework of dynamic systems theory, this could indicate that the postural system explored the state space in more detail, and thus was more ready to respond to unexpected perturbations in the morning.
