축류형 이중 블레이드 팬의 공기 유동 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Air Flow Characteristics of Axial Dual-blade Fan)

  • To ventilate indoor spaces, axial single-blade fans are widely used in various areas, such as schools, houses, offices, and restaurants. Recently, axial single-blade fans were developed to realize energy efficiency and noise reduction improvements. Here, an experimental study of the air flow characteristics of an axial dual-blade fan is conducted. The characteristics of the axial dual-blade fan were tested via an air flow analysis and with prototypes. For the performance of the fan, the flow rate, power consumption, and noise were evaluated. The result showed that the axial dual-blade fan uses less power and produces less noise in comparison with an axial single-blade fan.

천연가스-경유 혼소엔진의 특성연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Dual Fuel Engine Fueled by Natural Gas and Diesel)

  • 본 연구에서는 기존 상용 12리터급 경유엔진을 베이스로, 천연가스 연료공급시스템을 추가함으로써 천연가스-경유연료를 동시에 사용하는 혼소엔진을 개발하였다. 전체적인 제어는 기존의 경유엔진 ECU를 이용하고, 추가적인 혼소 ECU를 제작하여 경유와 천연가스 연료가 최적으로 공급되도록 시스템을 구성하였다. 천연가스 연료는 MPI 방식으로 흡기메니홀드에 어뎁터를 이용하여 설치하였다. 혼소엔진의 실험결과, 경유엔진과 동등한 토크와 출력성능을 얻었으며, 배출가스 기준 또한 만족하였다. 전체적인 천연가스 연료 대체율은 70%이고, 주 사용영역에서는 약 76%의 대체율을 보였으며, 이로 인한 연료비용 절감효과는 전체 37% 및 주 사용영역에서는 40%를 얻었다.

군지연 등화된 두 개의 통과대역을 갖는 필터의 합성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Synthesis of a Self-Equalized Dual-Passband Filter)

  • 본 논문에서는 각 통과대역이 군지연 등화된 두 개의 통과대역을 갖는 필터의 합성 방법에 관하여 언급하였다. 각 통과대역이 군지연 등화된 특성을 가지게 함으로써, 기존의 이중 통과대역 필터보다 디지털 데이터 전송에 있어서 비트 에러율(BER)을 감소시킬 수 있고, 군지연 변화를 등화시키기 위하여 외부 등화기가 별도로 필요하지 않다. 본 논문에서의 합성 방법 타당성 검증을 위하여 각 통과대역이 군지연 등화된 5차 타원 응답특성을 갖는 두 개의 통과대역을 갖는 10차 이중모드 필터를 합성하였다.

국내 고령자의 Y-DuCog 표준치, 인지기능에 관한 연구 (Normative Data of the Yonsei Dual Task Cognitive Screening Test (Y-DuCog) for Korean Older Adults and Characteristics of Cognitive Function)

  • Purpose : This study aimed to present normative data for older Korean adults completing the Yonsei dual task cognitive screening test (Y-DuCog) and identify changes in cognitive function on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment - Korean (MoCA-K) with age. Methods : From May 2019 to August 2019, 195 healthy adults aged ≥60 years participated in this study. All participants completed the Y-DuCog to assess their dual-task performance and the MoCA-K to assess their cognitive function. Participants were divided into three groups based on their age: 60~69 years, 70~79 years, and ≥80 years. Results : The results of the Y-DuCog showed that dual-task performance time, effect, and correct response rate decreased significantly with age (p<.001). Scores from the three groups showed differences on all items (p<.001). Cognitive function on the MoCA-K also decreased significantly with age (mean score ± standard deviation [SD]; 27.33 ± 2.61 in subjects aged 60~69 years; 24.82 ± 3.20 in subjects aged 70~79 years; and 22.10 ± 4.91 in subjects aged ≥80 years; p<.001). Conclusions : Occupational therapists should be aware of the decline in cognitive function and dual-task performance time, effect, and correct response rate in older adults and consider interventions to treat this decline. Further studies are needed with larger groups of participants to examine factors, such as sex and education, that may impact dual-task performance and cognitive function.

Dual-Port SDRAM Optimization with Semaphore Authority Management Controller

  • This paper proposes the semaphore authority management (SAM) controller to optimize the dual-port SDRAM (DPSDRAM) in the mobile multimedia systems. Recently, the DPSDRAM with a shared bank enabling the exchange of data between two processors at high speed has been developed for mobile multimedia systems based on dual-processors. However, the latency of DPSDRAM caused by the semaphore for preventing the access contention at the shared bank slows down the data transfer rate and reduces the memory bandwidth. The methodology of SAM increases the data transfer rate by minimizing the semaphore latency. The SAM prevents the latency of reading the semaphore register of DPSDRAM, and reduces the latency of waiting for the authority of the shared bank to be changed. It also reduces the number of authority requests and the number of times authority changes. The experimental results using a 1 Gb DPSDRAM (OneDRAM) with the SAM controllers at 66 MHz show 1.6 times improvement of the data transfer rate between two processors compared with the traditional controller. In addition, the SAM shows bandwidth enhancement of up to 38% for port A and 31% for port B compared with the traditional controller.

Efficacy of dual progesterone administration (intramuscular and vaginal) for luteal support in fresh day 3 or day 4 embryo transfer cycles

  • Objective: The aim of this study was to compare in vitro fertilization outcomes between fresh day 3 or day 4 embryo transfer cycles with dual progesterone (P) administration (intramuscular and vaginal) and cycles with single intramuscular P administration for luteal support. Methods: We selected 124 cycles from 100 women (under age 40 years) who underwent oocyte pick-up (number of trials ≤ 3, 4-14 oocytes obtained) and transfer of two or three day 3 or day 4 embryos at two infertility centers from January 2014 to June 2019. Dual P (intramuscular P [50 mg] daily+vaginal P) was used in 52 cycles and a single intramuscular administration of P (50 mg daily) was used in 72 cycles. Results: Women's age, infertility factors, number of oocytes retrieved, number of transferred embryos, and mean embryo score were similar between the dual P group and the single P group. Although the number of trial cycles was significantly higher (1.9 vs. 1.5), and the mean endometrial thickness on the trigger day (10.0 mm vs. 11.0 mm) was significantly lower in the dual P group, the implantation rate, clinical pregnancy rate, ongoing pregnancy rate, and miscarriage rate for both day 3 and day 4 transfers were similar between the two groups. Conclusion: In fresh day 3 or day 4 embryo transfer cycles, dual P administration did not demonstrate any clinical advantages. Intramuscular P alone appears to be sufficient for luteal support.

Multirate Control of Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy System

  • In this paper, a new dual-rate digital control technique for the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy system is suggested. The proposed method takes account of the stabilizablity of the discrete-time T-S fuzzy system at the fast-rate sampling points. Our main idea is to utilize the lifted control input. The proposed approach is to obtain the dual-rate discrete-time T-S fuzzy system by discretizing the overall dynamics of the T-S fuzzy system with the lifted control, and then to derive the sufficient conditions for the stabilization in the sense of the Lyapunov asymptotic stability for this system. An example is provided for showing the feasibility of the proposed discretization method.

  • 기존의 지연 무관 (Delay-Insensitive(DI)) 데이터 인코딩 방식은 N 비트 데이터 전송에 물리적으로 2N+1 개의 도선이 필요하다. GALS(Globally Asynchronous Locally Synchronous) 시스템과 같은 대규모 칩 설계 시에 많은 도선 수로 인해 발생할 수 있는 전력 소모와 설계 복잡성을 줄이기 위해, 의사지연 무관 (Quasi D디ay-Insensitive(QDI)) 모델에 기반하고, N+1 개의 도선으로 N 비트 데이터를 전송할 수 있는 인코더와 디코더 회로를 설계한다. 이 회로들은 전류모드 다치 논리 회로(Current-Mode Multiple Valued Logic(CMMVL))를 사용하여 설계되었으며, 도선수를 줄임으로써 파생되는 효율성을 검증하기 위해 0.25 um CMOS 공정에서 기존의 DI 인코딩 방식인 dual-rail 방식 및 1-of-4 방식과 delay-power product ($D{\ast}P$) 값 측면에서 비교하였다. HSPICE를 통한 모의실험 결과 4 mm 이상의 도선의 길이에서, dual-rail 방식과는 5 MHz의 data rate 이상에서, 1-of-4 방식과는 18 MHz의 data rate 이상에서 제안된 CMML 방식이 유리하였다. 또한, 긴 도선에 버퍼를 장착한 dual-rail 방식, 1-of-4방식과의 비교에서도 개선된 CMMVL 방식이 10 mm 도선, 32 비트 데이터 전송에서 각각 4 MHz, 25 MHz data rate 이상에서 최대 $57.7\%$$17.9\%$$D{\ast}P$ 값 감소 효과를 나타냈다.

  • Effect of prior deformation on the sliding wear of the ultra-fine grained (UFG) ferrite-martensite dual phase (DP) steel was investigated. The UFG DP steel was fabricated by the ECAP and subsequent intercritical annealing. The steel was cold rolled before the wear test, and the effect of the prior deformation on the wear was examined. The wear tests were carried out at various loads against a bearing steel ball. The wear rate of the UFG DP steel that did not experience the prior deformation was higher than that of the coarse-grained (CG) DP steel, because of more severe surface shear deformation. The wear rate of the specimens with prior deformation was much higher than that of the specimen without prior deformation. The deformed CG DP specimen showed higher rate than the deformed UFG DP specimen, and the rate-variation of the CG DP steel was much bigger under the same test condition.
