This study aimed to identify mordant effects of Chestnut hulls. The color of post and pre-mordanted fabrics were measured in terms of H, V, C, $L^*$, $a^*$, $b^*$, and K/S values. In addition, color fastness and antimicrobial activity were evaluated. The pre-mordant concentration of Chestnut hulls for cotton, mercerized cotton and silk was optimized to 50% (o.w.f.) and 70% (o.w.f.), respectively. Post-mordant concentration of Chestnut hulls of mercerized cotton, silk and cotton was optimized to 50% (o.w.f.) and 90% (o.w.f.), respectively. The hue of fabrics was influenced by mordant methods, such as pre-mordant and post-mordant, slightly. Wet cleaning fastness of pre-mordanted cotton and mercerized cotton fabrics was higher than that of post-mordanted fabrics. The wet cleaning fastness of silk fabrics was not affected by the mordant method, and their fastness were proved to be excellent. The dry cleaning fastness of post-mordanted cotton fabrics was higher than that of pre-mordanted cotton fabrics. The dry cleaning fastness of mercerized cotton and silk was proved to be excellent regardless of mordant methods. The antimicrobial activity of Oenothera odorata jacquin dyed fabrics and Chestnut hulls mordanted fabrics was proved to 99.9%, and their excellent antimicrobial activity remained after wet and dry cleaning.

A new cleaning robot system for live-line tension insulator string was developed to prevent an insulator failure, which can have severe effects on national security as well as national industry and economy. The robot moves along the insulator string using the clamps installed on its two moving frames. Especially, unlike the existing cleaning robots using jets of water or water/air, the robot system adopts dry cleaning method using a rotating brush and a circular motion guide. This robot system has control architecture consisting of a master control unit and two slave control units. We confirmed its effectiveness through experiments.

This study applied a laser cleaning method (dry cleaning) that is used for cleaning semiconductor elements to dental implant cleaning. The lasers used in this study were pulsed fiber lasers with wavelengths of 1,064 and 532 nm. The peak output, energy per pulse, energy density per pulse, time of pulse experiment, and number of pulse experiments served as process variables for this study, and the variables were changed for each experiment. As a result, a laser with a wavelength of 532 nm showed much higher cleaning efficiency than its 1,064 nm counterpart. As the wavelength range decreased, the quantized energy increased and the reflection rate of the titanium used for the implant decreased; consequently, the energy absorption rate increased. Therefore, it is proposed that the energy density by wavelength has a greater influence on cleaning than does the output size.

To prevent an insulator failure, an automatic cleaning robot was developed for suspension insulator strings. The robot autonomously moves along the insulator string using the clamps installed on its two moving frames, and adopts a dry cleaning method using rotating brushes and a circular motion guide. In addition, a mechanized brush bristles and a voltage-balancing contactor are devised to increase cleaning efficiency and to prevent arc generation under live-line conditions, respectively. Moreover, a manual tool for its installation and removal is presented. We confirmed its effectiveness through experiments.
The dyeing of poly(trimethylene terephthalate)(PTT)/silk mixture fabrics can be accomplished by a two bath dyeing method with separate application of the disperse dyes on the PTT, reduction cleaning of the stained silk and then dyeing the silk with the acid dyes, or by one bath dyeing method with mixed dye ranges, possibly followed by a cleaning treatment. The two bath dyeing method has the advantage of better results with respect to dry cleaning fastness properties thanks to the possibility of an intermediate reduction clear. On the other hand, as compared with the two bath dyeing method, one bath dyeing method with a mixed dye range permits rapid and more reproducible dyeing, without the risk of great difference with respect to the shade of the strike on both substrates as well as savings of time, energy and water usage. This study was carried out to investigate dyeing characteristics of PTT/silk mixture fabrics with disperse dyes/acid dyes by one bath dyeing method in comparison with two bath dyeing method in the interests for rationalization of the dyeing process.

To develop cleaning process various particles should be deposited on wafer surfaces to measure particle removal efficiencies. The purpose of the article in to evaluate, removal efficient)r of silica and alumina particles from wafer surfaces when they are deposited by dry and wet method. Dry deposition in air and wet spray deposition using solutions are used. van der Waals are considered to calculate the adhesion force of particles on surfaces. Higher adhesion force is measured on alumina particles on silicon when particles are deposited in air.
To investigate the cognition of labeling system and its problems, problems in laundry, and consumer's dissatisfaction and to decrease problems in management of clothing products, total 476 subjects were surveyed in Taejon. The major results were as follows ; 1. The cognition of labeling system was understood by 93.1% of respondents, and 72.9% of them prefer to recognized labeling by figures and letters than by either of them. Most of respondents got the knowledge of labeling system from school. The most frequently experienced mislabeling was the label for management. 2. In cleaning, 60.4% of respondents made their decisions of the laundry method after seeing labeling system. When the label recommanded either of hand washing or dry cleaning, they usually laundered with hand washing after a few times of dry cleaning. The first consideration factor for laundry was fiber composition of textiles. 3. About 70% of respondents understood ironing, laundry, and drying mark on labeling system, and 53.8% understood fiber composition and bleaching. 4. More than 90% of respondents experienced dissatisfaction in handling clothing products. The reason of dissatisfaction was deformation and decoloring after laundry. Most of respondents experienced change of tactile sensation, too.
In this study, performances of two cleaning methods were analyzed and a cleaning system was designed to develop a cleaning process of electronic components to remanufacture old laser copy machine. First, plasma cleaning as a dry cleaning method was executed to test cleaning ability. In cleaning of printed circuit board (PCB) by plasma, some damages were found near the metal parts, and considering the productivity, this method was not adequate for the cleaning of electronic components. With 4 different cleaning agents, ultrasonic cleaning tests were executed to select an optimal cleaning agent, aqueous agents showed superior cleaning performance compared to semi-aqueous and non-aqueous agents. Cleaning with aqueous cleaning agent A and 28 kHz ultrasonic frequency can be completed in 30 sec to 1 min. Finally, an ultrasonic cleaning system was constructed based on the pre-test results. Optimal cleaning conditions of 40 kHz and $50^{\circ}C$ were found in the field test. The productivity and economic efficiency in remanufacturing of laser copy machine are expected to increase by adapting developed ultrasonic cleaning system.
Laboratory analytical results of 22 sets of hydrophobic adsorbent coils containing surface soil-vapor and two soil samples collected by conventional intrusive method from each boring location at two active dry cleaning facilities in the State of Illinois, U.S.A, were presented to evaluate the performance of soil-vapor survey. The most critical factor to determine the effectiveness of soil-vapor survey is the distance from the soil-vapor sampling device to the actual contamination, which is a function of soil porosity, permeability, primary lithology, and other geological and hydrogeological site-specific parameters. Also this factor can be affected by the history of contaminant-generating operations. The laboratory analytical results in this study showed longer dry cleaning operation history (i.e., 50 years) and presence of fine sand at the beneath Site B allow the contaminants to migrate farther and deeper over a fixed time compared to Site A(i.e., 35 years and silty clay) so that the soil-vapor survey is not likely the most effective environmental site investigation method alone for Site B. However, for Site A, the soil-vapor survey successfully screened the site to identify the location reporting the highest soil concentration of chlorinated solvents.

This study is to examine the colorfastness of leathers which has been tested for concentration of dyestuff and method of dyeing. This study Particularly attempts to solve some problems of colorfastness in wearing and treating leather goods. The finding of this study can summarized as follows: 1. In dyeing garment leathers classified by concentration, the colorfastness to light improves as concentration increases. 2. As the result the more concentration increases, the more the colorfastness to rubbing declines. 3. In colorfastness to dry cleaning, the grade of color fading has been to be high but that of staining to be bad as concentration increases. 4. In assessing change in colorfastness, grades to light and rubbing after coating have been found to be better than that before coating. 5. In colorfastness to dry cleaning after coating, both grades of color fading and staining have been found to be bad.
