Drivers' Drowsiness Detection System using the ECG measured by Non Contact Sensors (비접촉식 심전도 신호를 이용한 운전자 졸음 검출 시스템)

  • 본 논문은 비접촉식 센서를 통한 심전도 신호를 이용하여 운전자의 졸음을 검출하는 시스템을 제안한다. 이를 위해 비접촉식으로 얻은 심전도 신호에 적합한 특성들을 추출하였으며 t-test를 이용하여 검출 시스템에서 사용할 특성을 선택하였다. 그 후 추출된 특성으로 구성된 데이터를 support vector machine을 활용하여 학습함으로써 졸음 검출 시스템을 구축하였다. 10명의 실험자를 대상으로 한 실험 결과, 각 실험자에 대해서는 평균 91.25 %, 모든 실험자를 대상으로 한 실험에서는 81.29 %의 정확도로 졸음을 검출하는 것이 가능하였다.

Acute Hydrocephalus Following Cervical Spinal Cord Injury

  • We present a case of acute hydrocephalus secondary to cervical spinal cord injury in a patient with diffuse ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL). A 75-year-old male patient visited the emergency department with tetraparesis and spinal shock. Imaging studies showed cervical spinal cord injury with hemorrhage and diffuse OPLL from C1 to C4. We performed decompressive laminectomy and occipitocervical fusion. Two days after surgery, his mental status had deteriorated to drowsiness with dilatation of the right pupil. Findings on brain computed tomography revealed acute hydrocephalus and subarachnoid hemorrhage in the cerebellomedullary cistern, therefore, extraventricular drainage was performed immediately. Acute hydrocephalus as a complication of cervical spine trauma is rare, however, it should be considered if the patient shows deterioration of neurologic symptoms.

  • This paper studies the arousal effects of aroma and warning sound using EDA(Electrodermal Activity:EDA), Aroma stimulus started at Nz value over 1.2. Warning sound was prepared according to the arousal evaluation and control criteria. As a result, the warning sound could be controlled the arousal level in all the mKSS state. Aroma stimulus was able to prevent drowsy more than warning sound in the mKSS 3 state(the first stage of drowsiness). Therefor, aroma stimulus was can be used for arousal control at that state. Futhermore, arousal control was shown to be more effective with presentation of both aroma and warning sounds than each presentation.

  • The clinical effect of pre-operative medication with hydroxyzine hydrochloride in allaying fear and apprehension without psychic trauma, controlling the behavior of 62 pedodontic patients aged $2\frac{1}{2}$ to 12 has been studied. The following results were obtained upon this study. 1. Hydroxyzine hydrochloride group gave statistically high significant results at 0.005 level when compared to placebo and control group. 2. Placebo was superior to control group for control of cooperation, crying and apprehension: the difference, however, was not significant statistically. 3. As the number of appointments in hydroxyzine hydrochloride group increased behavior control of patients were easier. 4. The amount of 30mg hydroxyzine hydrochloride was appeared to be not effective for very young problem child. ($2\frac{1}{2}$Yrs) 5. Hydroxyzine hydrochloride was a safe drug with no apparent side effect drowsiness.

  • 최근 하드웨어의 컴퓨팅 능력이 좋아짐에 따라 기계학습 분야가 주목받고 있다. 이에 따라 많은 양의 데이터를 처리하기 수월해졌으며 수많은 데이터들을 기계학습 알고리즘을 통해 학습시키기 간편해졌다. 이러한 발전으로 기계학습이 적용되는 분야 또한 넓어져 교육 분야에도 활발히 적용되고 있다. 본 논문은 SVM(Support Vector Machine)을 사용하여 교실 내 좌석과 시간에 따른 졸음을 예측하는 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법을 통해 교사들은 학생들의 졸음을 사전에 방지 하여 수업 진행에 큰 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다.

  • 운전자의 주의력 감쇠는 교통사고 요인에 있어서 큰 비중을 차지한다. 주의력 감쇠는 무선 통화, 기기 조작, 졸음으로 나타날 수 있는데 자동차 대형사고의 대부분은 졸음운전으로 인하여 일어나며, 졸음운전 시에는 운전자의 운전조작 및 방어 조작 능력이 현저하게 저하한다. 본 시스템은 카메라로부터 실시간으로 영상 데이터를 입력 받아 처리하여 운전자의 졸음 상태를 인식하는 시스템으로 운전자에게 졸음방지 기능을 제공한다. Haar-Like Feature cascade classifier 방법을 사용하여 얼굴 및 눈 영역 검출을 하였고 Open Eye, Closed Eye가 학습된 MLP(Multi-Layer Perceptron)를 이용해 눈 깜박임을 인식하여 PERCLOS(Percentage of Eye Close)방법으로 졸음을 판단하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법의 인식률의 정확도를 검증하기 위해 인식률 테스트를 하였다.

  • 운전자 졸음 감지 시스템에서는 운전자의 눈의 위치를 정확하게 검출하고 추적하는 것이 중요하다. 각막 반사를 이용한 눈동자의 명암 차를 이용하여 동공의 위치를 정확하게 검출할 수 있다. 그러나 눈을 깜빡이는 순간에는 각막 반사 현상이 나타나지 않아 눈 검출에 실패하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 각막 반사와 템플릿 매칭을 이용하여 운전자가 눈을 깜빡이는 상황에도 지속적으로 두 눈의 위치를 정확하게 검출할 수 있는 시스템을 제안한다.

Asymptomatic Hematoma in Herpes Simplex Encephalitis (단순헤르페스뇌염에서 무증상 혈종)

  • A 59-year old man was admitted for drowsiness and stiff neck. CSF examination showed lymphocytic pleocytosis and PCR for herpes simplex virus (HSV)-1 was positive in CSF. Brain MRI revealed enhanced lesions in left temporal lobe. His symptom improved with acyclovir. Follow-up studies showed red blood cells in CSF and a hematoma in the left temporal lobe. There was no additional symptom related to the hematoma. He was discharged after conservative care. Although rare, hematoma can develop in HSV-1 meningoencephalitis.

  • Delirium is a neuropsychiatric disorder accompanying symptoms of hallucination, drowsiness, and tremors. It has high occurrence rates among elders, heart disease patients, and burn patients. It is a medical emergency associated with increased morbidity and mortality rates. That s why early detection and prevention of delirium ar significantly important. And This mental illness like delirium occurred by complex interaction between risk factors. In this paper, we identify risk factors and interactions between these factors for delirium using multi-factor dimensionality reduction (MDR) method.

  • Today, many people are sitting on chair in their life. If a sitting posture is not correct, there is some trouble with the waist. And if it goes on long time, sometimes it cause the hurts of waist or the deformded spinal column. A crouched posture is an obstacle to breath and it give rise to drowsiness because the lack of oxygen. Sitting posture is a habit so people can't feel it oneself and look over some kind of risks. It analyzes a condition of muscles by measuring EMG of spinal both side of spin al-bones. It can have a right sitting posture by the analyzing that increasing of muscles tention in one or the other side of muscles when the posture inclines on one side or ahead.
