The drone technology, which is receiving a lot of attention due to the 4th industrial revolution, requires an Unmanned Aerial Vehicles'(UAVs) flight path search algorithm for automatic operation and driver assistance. Various studies related to flight path prediction and recommendation algorithms are being actively conducted, and many studies using the A-Star algorithm are typically performed. In this paper, we propose an Optimal 3D Flight Path Recommendation System for unmanned aerial vehicles. The proposed system was implemented and simulated in Unity 3D, and by indicating the meaning of the route using three different colors, such as planned route, the recommended route, and the current route were compared each other. And obstacle response experiments were conducted to cope with bad weather. It is expected that the proposed system will provide an improved user experience compared to the existing system through accurate and real-time adaptive path prediction in a 3D mixed reality environment.
Conventional integral effect test facilities were constructed to enable the precise observation of thermal-hydraulic phenomena and reactor behaviors under postulated accident conditions to prove reactor safety. Although these facilities improved the understanding of thermal-hydraulic phenomena and reactor safety, applications of new technologies and their performance tests have been limited owing to the cost and large scale of the facilities. Various nuclear technologies converging 4th industrial revolution technologies such as artificial intelligence, drone, and 3D printing, are being developed to improve plant management strategies. Additionally, new conceptual passive safety systems are being developed to enhance reactor safety. A new integral effect test facility having a noticeable scaling ratio, i.e., the (UNIST reactor innovation loop (URI-LO), is designed and constructed to improve the technical quality of these technologies by performance and feasibility tests. In particular, the URI-LO, which is constructed using a transparent material, enables better visualization and provides physical insights on multidimensional phenomena inside the reactor system. The facility design based on three-level approach is qualitatively validated with preliminary analyses, and its functionality as a test facility is confirmed through a series of experiments. The design feature, design validation, functionality test, and future utilization of the URI-LO are introduced.

This study examines the history of Korean aviation industry and presents the investment strategy based on the evidence and the 4th industrial revolution. Looking at the evolution of the Korean aviation industry and its technological development will be a great help to support industrial and technological innovation in the future. The modern aviation industry is divided into stages of development, focusing on maintenance of equipment introduced in advanced countries, localization through license assembly, production of products based on technology, and international joint development. The development of aeronautics technology has been progressing towards a general improvement of economic efficiency, aircraft safety efficiency through environmental-friendliness, unmanned operation, and downsizing. The Korea Aerospace Research Institute has secured key technologies through development of several aircrafts such as Experimental Aircraft Kachi, EXPO Unmanned Airship, Twin-engine Composite Aircraft, Canard Aircraft, Multi-Purpose Stratosphere unmanned-airship, Medium Aerostats, Smart UAV, Surion, EAV-2H, KC-100, and OPV. The development strategy is discussed at the level of the evidence-based investment strategy that is currently being discussed, and so the investment priorities in aircraft is high. Current drone usage and development direction are not only producing parts using 3D printer, but also autonomous flight, communication (IoT, 5G), information processing (big data, machine learning). Therefore, the aviation industry is expected to lead the fourth industrial revolution.
In Korea, 63% of the nation's land is made up of forests, and the average temperature of the earth has been increasing. Forest service has been operating a proactive control system for preventing the spread of forest pests such as Pine wilt disease. but there were some hurdles in timely control due to weather, topography and manpower management difficulties. In this paper, we propose a model for building fast, accurate and efficient control system by categorizing the damage and dead wood automatically based on the images acquired using small unmanned aerial vehicles based on information and communication technology. In particular, the proposed model establishes an effective response system for government affairs through cooperation in the private sector. It can also create new jobs in the unmanned aerial vehicle business and service industries.
Very decisive progress was made in advancing fundamental POL-IN-SAR theory and algorithm development during the past decade. This was accomplished with the aid of airborne & shuttle platforms supporting single -to-multi-band multi-modal POL-SAR and also some POL-IN-SAR sensor systems, which will be compared and assessed with the aim of establishing the hitherto not completed but required missions such as tomographic and holographic imaging. Because the operation of airborne test-beds is extremely expensive, aircraft platforms are not suited for routine monitoring missions which is better accomplished with the use drones or UAVs. Such unmanned aerial vehicles were developed for defense applications, however lacking the sophistic ation of implementing advanced forefront POL-IN-SAR technology. This shortcoming will be thoroughly scrutinized resulting in the finding that we do now need to develop most rapidly POL-IN-SAR drone-platform technology especially for environmental stress-change monitoring with a great variance of applications beginning with flood, bush/forest-fire to tectonic-stress (earth-quake to volcanic eruptions) for real-short-time hazard mitigation. However, for routine global monitoring purposes of the terrestrial covers neither airborne sensor implementation - aircraft and/or drones - are sufficient; and there -fore multi-modal and multi-band space-borne POL-IN-SAR space-shuttle and satellite sensor technology needs to be further advanced at a much more rapid phase. The existing ENVISAT with the forthcoming ALOSPALSAR, RADARSAT-2, and the TERRASAT will be compared, demonstrating that at this phase of development the fully polarimetric and polarimetric-interferometric modes of operation must be viewed and treated as preliminary algorithm verification support modes and at this phase of development are still not to be viewed as routine modes.

IoT (Internet of Things) emerges from various technologies such as communications, micro processors and embedded system and so on. The IoT has also been used to UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) system. In manned aircraft, a pilot and co-pilot should control FCS (Flight Control System) with FBW(Fly By Wire) system for flight operation. In contrast, the flight operation in UAV system is remotely and fully managed by GCS (Ground Control System) almost in real time. To make it possible the communication channel should be necessary between the UAV and the GCS. There are many protocols between two systems. Amongst them, MAVLink (Macro Air Vehicle Link) protocol is representatively used due to its open architecture. MAVLink does not define any securities itself, which results in high vulnerability from external attacks. This paper proposes the method to enhance data security in GCS network by applying cryptographic methods to the MAVLink messages in order to support safe UAV operations.
In this paper, the design requirements was produced by analyzing domestic and foreign regulations of the vertical takeoff and landing site required to operate the urban air mobility (UAM) system in Korea and the size of the take-off and landing pads were defined, and the configuration of vertiport was proposed. First, for the metropolitan area with high population density, pilot locations of the vertical take-off and landing site were selected based on the demonstration routes suggested by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and analyzed the characteristics of each location and determined the number of possible installations of vertiport by measuring each site. After that, variables necessary for the operation of the vertical takeoff and landing area were set, and the hourly, daily, monthly aircraft operating cycle, the number of acceptable people, and efficiency were calculated according to the number of simultaneous operation and the number of stand. Finally, using CATIA, the configurations of the virtual vertiport was created by applying the design requirements.

The restart of scramjet engine is almost impossible in case its unstart happens during engine operation. Therefore, it is essential to prognosticate the scramjet engine unstart phenomena. A numerical simulation of a scramjet engine is conducted to investigate the unstart process of the scramjet engine by adjusting the backpressure at the isolator outlet to the engine analysis environment. The start and unstart of the engine are identified by applying a support vector machine (SVM) through the data measured by wall pressure so that the locations of the pressure sensors most suitable for the unstart detection are selected. And the operation conditions in which the engine is avoid to be unstarted are quantified to perceive the safety margin.

An agricultural drones are gradually increasing in utilization due to economic efficiency, and consist of a main frame in charge of flying spray system in charge of moving pesticide to control targets. Therefore, the environment and characteristics of crops should be considered when controlling pesticides using drones and conditions such as systematic flying altitude of flight, speed, and spray time should be changed accordingly. However, pest control work using agricultural drones has different spray effects depending on level the operation proficiency and spray impact. In addition, there are variations in operating standards and control efficiency for agricultural drones, which hinder the distribution of agricultural control drones in the field of pest control work. Therefore, this study attempts to identify the spraying characteristics of agricultural drones, apply the effective spraying time, interval and experimentally verify the system that can calculation of spray area compared to previous studies. Through this experimental verification, it is intended to apply the optimal control process by minimizing the obstacles to pest control work by applying the operation method and systematic figures to agricultural drones.
The utilization of small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has expanded into both military and civilian domains, increasing the necessity for research to ensure operational safety and the efficient utilization of airspace. In this study, the calculation of minimum separation distances for the safe operation of small UAVs at low altitudes was conducted. The determination of minimum separation distances requires a comprehensive analysis of the total system errors associated with small UAVs, necessitating sensitivity analysis to identify key factors contributing to flight technology errors. Flight data for small UAVs were acquired by integrating the control system of an actual small UAV with a flight simulation program. Based on this data, operational scenarios for small UAVs were established, and the minimum separation distances for each scenario were calculated. This research contributes to proposing methods for utilizing calculated minimum separation distances as crucial parameters for ensuring the safe operation of small unmanned aerial vehicles in real-world scenarios.
