Design and Analysis of NCP Packaging Process for Fine-Pitch Flexible Printed Circuit Board (미세피치 연성인쇄회로기판 대응을 위한 NCP 패키징 공정설계 및 분석)

  • Recently, LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) requires various technical challenges; high definition, high quality, big size, and low price. These demands more pixels in the fixed area of the LCD and very fine lead pitch of the driving IC which controls the pixels. Therefore, a new packaging technology is needed to meet such technical requirement. NCP (Non Conductive Paste) is one of the new packaging methods and has excellent characteristics to overcome the problems of the ACF (Anisotropic Conductive Film). In this paper, we analyzed the process of the NCP for COF (Chip on FPCB) and proposed the key design parameters of the NCP process. Through a series of experiments, we obtained the stable values of the design parameters for successful NCP process.

  • In order to apply for pickling line in cold rolling process, a high power magnetostrictive ultrasonic transducer was developed. The transducer is expected to overcome the shortcomings of conventional high power ultrasonic transducers. The transducer consists of Fe-Co-V alloy sheets for the magnetostrictive material, an ultrasonic horn made of Hastelloy to withstand acid solution, and electric driving circuit. In the development, the transducer was designed with the theoretical and numerical methods such as finite element method, and was characterized with experimental water tanks. A Study on the Effects of Diesel Engine Deterioration on Exhaust Gas Emission (대형디젤기관의 열화에 따른 배출가수 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Nowadays it has been strongly required to control emissions from vehicles specially in diesel engines because of increasing number of vehicle in korea. This research aims to provide with some of deterioration factors on vehicles for emissions characteristics and the test was done on an electronically controlled heavy-duty diesel engine under severe driving conditions such as 1200 driving hours, 220,000 km driving distance and a full load. Under various driving conditions, CO, HC, $NO_{x}$, PM and Soots emissions were estimated under D-13 mode and D-3 mode respectively. CO emission was not changed until 500 running hours, and as engine aging is progressed THC was not changed until 500 running hours but it decreased to about $33\%,\;NO_{x}$ decreased constantly but on the other hand PM increased up to $6.9\%$ during the aging process.

  • IEEE WAVE is going through the final standardization process as the wireless access technology which provides drivers in high-speed vehicles with safety-related information and commercial services This paper presents an application-layer protocol for safe driving assistant service and a service system emulator based on this protocol. The safe driving assistant system includes a construction zone information service and a vehicle crash notification service, an emergency vehicle notification service, a probing service and a dilemma zone decision assistant service. Emulator System design for verifying functions of system, The emulator consists of an emulator server that models the movement of all vehicles and road states and a number of clients that models functional units for OBUs, RSUs, and a traffic control center).

  • The self-driving roller conveyor system, which transports target products by controlling multiple rollers with a motor, is a logistics system suitable for branching and joining logistics and controlling the alignment of target products, and its utilization is increasing, especially in the food manufacturing process. In this paper, we build a simulation environment using Unity software based on 3D graphic modeling of a self-driving roller conveyor system. In a situation where target products are supplied irregularly in terms of time, a method is proposed that can align products to maintain constant spacing by controlling the rollers. Simulation results show that effective alignment of products is possible by controlling the motor that drives the roller based on sensor data of the product position.

Investigation of the Driving Characteristics of Elderly Drivers (고령운전자의 운전 특성 분석에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, there is a growing interest in promoting safe and convenient roadway and traffic conditions for elderly drivers. This paper analyzed the driving characteristics, self recognition, and any inconvenience of elderly drivers over age 65 through an extensive survey, and drew some action plans to improve the driving conditions for elderly drivers. Survey results showed that the major trip purposes of the elderly driver were found to be commuting(50%) and business(33%), and this pattern was similar to the general drivers. The elderly drivers are interested in "safety", but "brand recognition" was the more important factor for the general drivers in the process of vehicle selection. The elderly drivers had no technical skill difference in driving as compared to the general drivers, but they fully recognized the physical deterioration such as reaction time and sight distance. In addition, the elderly drivers had a tendency to feel psychological contraction as to high workload driving conditions, thus it was necessary to make safe driving conditions by improving the design elements of traffic control devices on the roadways including visibility.

  • This paper describes the developments to improve the feeling and safety of the remote control system of unmanned vehicles. Generally, in the case of the remote control systems, a joystick-type device or a simple steering-wheel are used. There are many cases, in which there are operations without considering the feedback to users and driving feel. Recently, as the application area of the unmanned vehicles has been extended, the problems caused by not considering the feedback are emphasized. Therefore, the need for a force feedback-haptic control arises to solve these problems. In this study, the force feedback-haptic control algorithm considering the vehicle parameters is proposed. The vehicle parameters include first the state variables of dynamics, such as the body side-slip angle (${\beta}$) and yawrate (${\gamma}$), and second, the parameters representing the driving situations. Force feedback-haptic control technology consists of the algorithms for general and specific situations, and considers the situation transition process. To verify the algorithms, a simulator was constructed using the vehicle dynamics simulation tool with CAN communication environment. Using the simulator, the feasibility of the algorithms was verified in various scenarios.

  • The hybrid control system for a wheeled mobile robot with nonholonomic constraints to perform a cluttered environment maneuver is proposed. The proposed hybrid control system consists of a continuous state system for the trajectory control, a discrete state system for the motion and orientation control, and an interface control system for the interaction process between the continuous dynamics and the discrete dynamics The continuous control systems are modeled by the switched systems with the control of driving wheels, and the digital automata for motion control are modeled and implemented by the abstracted motion of mobile robot. The motion control tasks such as path generation, motion planning, and trajectory control for a cluttered environment are investigated as the applications by simulation studies.

  • The arc, generated by Tungsten Inert Gas(TIG) welding, is stable and provides excellent quality of the weld. Since automation is difficult, a lot of work is performed by hand. In addition, to obtain the uniform weld quality is difficult when using a base metal having a nonuniform welding line, or when welding inside a pipe. Generally, TIG welding power has the characteristic of constant-current. The welding voltage is changed in proportion to the arc length. Hence, the automatic voltage control equipment should be applied at the TIG welding system. The automatic voltage control equipment has been designed using LabVIEW software. It consists of a manufactured voltage divider circuit, and jig for moving the torch. The voltage measurements and driving of the motor were performed through the algorithm implementation in LabVIEW. Welding was conducted while increasing the arc length. In this process, it was confirmed that the automatic voltage control equipment kept the arc length constant.

  • This study has been done to design a precise system and develop position control algorithm to control a Composite Smoke Bomb Azimuth driving apparatus of a BLDC servo motor. Having to Blind the sight of opposite tank. the Smoke Bomb Rotational driving system needs instant response that is able to detect opponent appearance and blast the bomb at a short time. So a design that shows fast current response capability or $300[Hz]\sim500[Hz]$ is proposed. in the MIN-MAX PWM technology is used to increase the operational speed. in order to control the blasting position, a precision position control algorithm that utilizes the integral value of speed trajectory is suggested. Also these characteristics are monitored and assessed by the PC based monitoring program which shows the graphs of current, voltage, position, and speed parameters. The main controller is based on a TMS320VC33 high performance floating-point DSP(Digital Signal Process) and the PWM generator utilizes EPM7128 CPLD.
