A Study on the Conditions of Injection Pressurization in the Smoke-Control Zone II. Analysis of the Conditions for Closing Force of Fire Door with Variation of Angular Velocity (제연구역 방화문의 각속도 변화와 폐쇄 조건 분석)

  • This study aims to construct the performance data for smoke-control zone and realize the safety of injection and pressurization room which is composed of supply air pressure zone, vestibule, smoke-control zone and stairwell. To obtain this, smoke-control system and the device of the opening-closing force of fire door are manufactured. This subject is the analysis of the closing force, angular velocity and fire door size in the case of fixed volume flow rate. Based on the results, closing force increased as fire door size and closing angular velocity increases. Also, it is remark that there exists a critical angular velocity, which maintains constant maximum closing force even though the angular velocity increases more.

  • A relationship between resisting moment and the structure of an automatic closure device is introduced for analyzing the effect of opening and closing condition on various fire door sizes in the pressurized room for smoke control system. The larger the size of fire door is, the more force is required for reaching to opening and closing conditions and there exists the design range of fire door in the pressurized room reflecting the closing time of fire door, rotative velocity, a relation between rotative angle and force and the efficiency of the automatic closure device.

  • Vehicle's airtight integrity is a very important factor that greatly affects passenger's habitability. However, when a door is closed, the pressure in the passenger compartment increases due to the vehicle's airtight integrity. That pressurizes the eardrums of the passenger, and makes passenger unpleasant. Thus, in this study, the configurations of air ventilation hasve been investigated to reduce pressure in the passenger compartment. Truck cab is utilized to measure the pressure in the passenger compartment. Various kinds of air ventilations are considered to find out optimized pressure in truck cab when a door is closed.

  • There have been the current controversy over effectiveness of the pressurized smoke control systems, which are installed within escape shaft to provide 'smoke-free' access for escaping peoples. Therefore, many effective measures were given in this paper by means of the production of a design guide for various types of escape routes used in domestic buildings. The solutions were established on basis of both an investigating current door closing device application in existing facilities and global standardization for pressurized smoke control system, especially in British Standard. Finally, the design guidance for open door air velocity with introduction to three door protection clauses was presented on the basis of consideration of the safety and economical factor,

  • This paper is to study the examples for rubber damage and weaken reliability of timing belt, constant velocity joint boot and weather strip in vehicle. The first example, when the service man replaced the new timing-belt of rubber material, he assembled the belt that was weaken it's contact surface because of material transform. He knew the abnormally tearing failure by friction action between belt and sprocket. The second example, it certified the fact that the grease is leaked out boot protecting of constant velocity joint by split of rubber surface because of durability badness. The third example, the weather stripe took the minutely tearing because of damage produced the material transform by crack of chemistry change. It certified the production phenomenon of a tiny noise by coming with outside air because of overlapped the rubber of weather stripe when driving after closing the door. Therefore, the driver must always manage the rubber system part of vehicle.

  • This study is experimentally analyzed to extract the major parameters affecting the performance of the smoke-control system and the relations of pressure difference between vestibule and supply air pressure zone effect of supply mass flow rate and leakage area in the smoke-control zone. To obtain this, the mock-up building of three-story scale with a total of 10 compartments was constructed, and several apparatus were also installed for in-situ measurement of the ventilation flow rate, pressure difference between compartments, smoke defensive air velocity, the opening-closing force of door, etc. This article show that pressure difference in the smoke-control zone is significantly related with leakage area of vestibule in low pressure region, leakage area of supply air pressure in over pressure region and both of them in pressure control region when the pressure control range of damper is 45 Pa~55 Pa.
