  • Objectives: This study was conducted to examine the current status of traditional Korean medicine studies on chronic prostatitis in Korea, identify deficiencies, and suggest future medicine research methods to lay the foundation for traditional Korean medicine treatment. Methods: All domestic clinical research papers on the traditional Korean treatment of chronic prostatitis were selected from the literature published until October 2023 in three domestic databases. A total of 13 selected research data were classified into clinical research papers. Results: In clinical research papers, the basis for the diagnosis of cases was clinical symptoms through medical history listening and diagnosis through past visits to hospitals. The average treatment period was 7 weeks, and the duration of treatment was not significantly affected by the duration of the disease. The most widely used Korean medicine treatment intervention was herbal medicine. Conclusions: This study included all domestic clinical research papers on chronic prostatitis to identify research trends in the Korean oriental medicine community. Based on this, it is meaningful to confirm areas that need to be supplemented in future research plans.

  • Since hundreds thousands of pedestrians are killed or injured in car accidents every year, a variety of research efforts have been performed to protect pedestrians in pedestrian-vehicle crashes. The IHRA reports that injuries on the child head, the adult head, and the adult lower leg/knee are the most critical in the crashes. Identifying the current status of international activities on pedestrian protection, this study, in particular, carries out headform impact test using selected domestic vehicles categorized by three groups - Sedan, SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle), and 1 Box (One Box) Vehicle. According to the valuable findings from the test results, this paper proposes a methodology under which the Korean Technical Regulation for protecting pedestrians in pedestrian-vehicle crashes will be developed.

  • The development of remediation technologies in the contaminated coastal area from oil spill is essential for solving environmental disaster. Many countries including USA, France and United Kingdom have tried to make novel remediation techniques and predict oil dispersion in the ocean and coastal line by using their own models. To develop new technology of remediation, this research in advance was carried out the status of domestic and international remediation technologies and tried to suggest future research plan for developing new remediation technologies considering geographical characteristics of Korea peninsula.

  • As concerns have been raised about health effects of children's products containing hazardous chemicals on children, the Korea Ministry of Environment announced 135 environmental hazardous substances in children's products (EHSCP) which were subject to risk assessment. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the current status of EHSCP for management due to their various exposure routes and types. In this study, we investigated the exposure assessment of EHSCP as well as relevant policies implemented in domestic and foreign countries. Domestic and foreign cases of detection of EHSCP were reviewed in the literature and websites of related agencies. Due to the lack of reference values for child-specific toxicity of EHSCP, those for adults and regulatory status of EHSCP were also investigated and reviewed with literature. The related agencies of foreign countries provided 13 child-specific reference doses (RfDs), 76 RfDs, and 42 reference concentrations as toxicity reference values of the EHSCP. Among substances investigated in the studies to assess exposure of hazardous substances in children's products by the Korea Ministry of Environment, 23 substances were included in 135 EHSCP. The same studies identified 9 substances which were excluded from the 135 EHSCP. For regulatory status for hazardous substances in children's products, 44 substances (32.6 %) and 84 substances (62.2 %) of 135 EHSCP were under regulation in Korea and foreign countries, respectively. In the present study, we found that a list of 135 EHSCP should be revised to ensure children's safety.

If domestic students was higher in more than 3times toothbrushing, toothbrushing after lunch, toothbrushing, toothbrush replacement within 3months, toothbrush more than 3, received toothbrushing education. Decayed Teeth index is higher if foreign student, toothbrushing after lunch and receive toothbrushing education is 'no', consider selecting toothpaste. Filled Teeth index is higher if the 20-23 years old, female, domestic students, more than 3times toothbrushing, toothbrushing after lunch and receive toothbrushing education is 'no'. Missing Teeth index is the lowest if 20-23 years, toothbrush replacement within 3months. Results were analyzed by multiple regression Y(Decayed Teeth index)=4.541-1.074((Female)+2.359(foreign students). Therefore, this should be made systematic training on proper toothbrushing behavior to improve the oral health of university students.
