  • Large sample test of homogeneity for a panel of more than two seasonal autoregressive processes is derived and its limiting distribution is found. Detailed results are shown for the important special case that the seasonal and nonseasonal autoregressive components are both of order one.

  • Maximum likelihood estimation of Cholesky decomposition is considered under normality assumption. It is shown that maximum liklihood estimation gives a Cholesky decomposition of the sample covariance matrix. The joint distribution of the maximum likelihood estimators is derived. The ussual algorithm for a Cholesky decomposition is shown to be equivalent to a maximumlikelihood estimation of a Cholesky root when the underlying distribution is a multivariate normal one.

  • In this paper, we study the geometry of lightlike real hyper-surfaces of an indefinite Kaehler manifold. The main result is a characterization theorem for lightlike real hypersurfaces M of an indefinite complex space form $\bar{M}(c)$ such that the screen distribution is totally umbilic.

  • In this paper, we study a family of continuous bivariate distributions that possesses the negative quadrant dependence property and the generalized negatively quadrant dependent F-G-M copula. We also develop the partial ordering of this new parametric family of negative quadrant dependent distributions.

  • The asymptotic distribution of the sample partial autocorrelation terms after lag p of an AR(p) model has been shown by Dixon(1944). The derivation is based on multivariate analysis and looks tedious. In this paper we present an interesting contour-integral derivation.

  • Using the conception of weakly weighted sharing we discussed the value distribution of the differential product functions constructed with a polynomial and difference operator of entire function. Here we established two uniqueness result on product of difference operators when two such functions share a small function.

  • Using the Nevanlinna value distribution theory of algebroid functions, this paper investigates the growth of two types of complex algebraic differential equation with algebroid solutions and obtains two results, which extend the growth of complex algebraic differential equation with meromorphic solutions obtained by Gao [4].

  • Growth of Bacillus cereus was assessed during the storage of seasoned soybean sprouts at 0,5, 10, and $15^{\circ}C$. No lag time in its growth curve was observed and thus the specific growth rate of B. cereus in the exponential growth phase was estimated for bootstrapped microbial count data. The distribution of the specific growth rate could be explained by the BetaGeneral distribution function, and temperature dependence was described by the Ratkowsky square root model. The temperature dependence of the growth could be successfully incorporated into the differential equation of microbial growth to predict the B. cereus count on the seasoned soybean sprouts under fluctuating temperature conditions. Safe shelf lives with different probabilities to reach $10^5\;CFU/g$ were presented at four different temperatures, considering the variation in initial contamination and specific growth rate by the Monte Carlo method and 2-step bootstrapping, respectively. Safe shelf lives defined as the time with a probability of less than 0.1% of reaching the critical limit, were 13.4, 5.2, 3.6, and 2.8 days at 0, 5, 10, and $15^{\circ}C$, respectively.

  • This study was conducted to investigate pollutant loading, were quality and plant distribution of 8 streams which are tributaries of the Youngsan River. The nitrate reductase activity (NRA) and nutrient removall capacity of the most frequently occurring aquatic plants on streamside were also determined. As a result, the pollutant loading appeared to be correlated with the area of watershed, while the water quality was related to the land use pattern of each steam. The aquatic plants were distributed differently among the streams; Hydrilla verticillata - Potamogeton crispus, Numphoides peltata - Hydrocharis dubia and Polygonum thunbergii - Phragmites japonica were dominant at the Orye Chon, Jungan Chon, Whangryong River and Jiseok Chon, while potamogeton crispus - Lemma paucicostata, Zizania latifolia - Phragmites communis were dominant at the Youngam Chon and Munpyeong Chon. Persicaria hydropiper and Echinochloa crus-galli var. oryzicola were dominant at Kwangju Chon which was polluted with domestic wastewater. >From the measurement of leaf NRA for dominant species, the highest value of NRA was shown by the Polygonum thunbergii, followed by Oenanthe javanica > Phragmites communis > Zizania latifolia > Lemma paucicostata. The highest nitrogen and phosphorus removal capacity was found in Phragmites communis.

  • Alpha alumina platelet particles were synthesized from the powder mixture of ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3and\;Na_2SO_4$ with the use of microwave heating. The characteristics of the particles such as particle size and particle size distribution were compared with those of particles obtained from the same mixture without the use of microwave. Sample with the use of microwave showed small particle size and narrow particle size distribution compared to that without the use of microwave.
