  • In this paper, we design two types of Main Control Unit for Control Rod Control System and Control Element Drive Mechanism Control System, respectively, using a domestic Distributed Control System(DCS) developed to localize the instrumentation and control(I&C) system for nuclear power plant(NPP). There are many parts developed by domestic skills and being operated successfully in NPP, but the development of I&C system as an essential part has been slow in progress. We will show the great possibility of developing peculiar Korean I&C system by applying this domestic DCS to nuclear I&C system and confirming its successful operation.

  • In this paper, we investigate the error estimates of a quadratic elliptic control problem with pointwise control constraints. The state and the co-state variables are approximated by the order k = 1 Raviart-Thomas mixed finite element and the control variable is discretized by piecewise linear but discontinuous functions. Approximations of order $h^{\frac{3}{2}}$ in the $L^2$-norm and order h in the $L^{\infty}$-norm for the control variable are proved.

  • The goal of current research is to suppress the acoustic noise radiated from vibration of composite plate structure. The induced noise can be reduced through the control of the corresponding structural vibration modes by using the piezoelectric materials as actuator. The acoustic fields are to be analyzed through the boundary element method (BEM) based on the Rayleigh intergral equation and structural system through the finite element method (FEM). The suppression of rediated sound is studied by adaping the piezoelectric material as the distributed actuator. Numerical results are presented on the sound radiation from composite plate of arbitrary boundary conditions, the noise reduction adapting the piezoelectric materials as distributed actuator. The results show the effectiveness and possibility of piezoelectric actuator in the control of sound radiation from composite structure.

  • This paper presents the realization method of 90$^{\circ}$ constant phase shifter in the VHF band, constructed by the entirely differens idea from the conventional method of the realization of constant phase shifter in the audio frequency range. The construction of 90$^{\circ}$ constant phase shifter is. simple and can be easily realized by using the distributed constant element, transmission line, and the lumped constant elements, R,C,L.

  • This paper introduces modeling and its modal analysis procedure for exact and closed form solution of in-plane vibrations of general Timoshenko frame structures using exact dynamic element method(EDEM). The derivation procedure of the exact system dynamic matrices for Timoshenko beam frames is described. A new modal analysis procedure is also proposed since the conventional modal analysis schemes are not adequate for the proposed, exact system dynamic matrix. The proposed method provides exact modal parameters as well as all kinds of closed form solutions for general frame structures. Two numerical examples are presented for validating and illustrating the proposed method. The numerical study proves that the proposed method is useful for dynamic analysis of frame structures.

  • In this study non-linear finite element analysis of dynamic response of steel arch under partially distributed dynamic load was discussed. Material and geometric non-linearities were included in finite element formulation and steel behavior was modeled with Von Mises yield criteria. Either radial or vertical dynamic load was dealt in numerical examples. Normal arch and arch with maximum shape imperfection of L/11,000 were studied. The analysis results showed that maximum displacement at the center of arch was occurred when 70% of arch span was loaded. The maximum displacement at a quarter of arch span was occurred when 50% of arch span was loaded and the displacement was larger than that of center of arch. Ratio of arch rise to arch span within 0.2∼-.3 seems to be appropriate for arch under radial or vertical load.

  • In general, the results of finite element method(FEM) on the analysis of the electrical machines has known as high accuracy but required very long time to calculate the field distribution. Magnetic equivalent circuit(MEC) method can be computing times less than the finite element method and also it provides steady state and transient state simulation. In this paper, describes matrix representation of the winding magneto motive force(MMF) and carry out the distributed the airgap magnetic density takes into account the influence on the stator slots.

  • This paper presents the solution of large static deflection due to uniformly distributed self weight and the critical or maximum applied uniform loading that a simply supported beam with variable-arc-length can resist. Two analytical approaches are presented and validated experimentally. The first approach is a finite-element discretization of the span length based on the variational formulation, which gives the solution of large static sag deflections for the stable equilibrium case. The second approach is the shooting method based on an elastica theory formulation. This method gives the results of the stable and unstable equilibrium configurations, and the critical uniform loading. Experimental studies were conducted to complement the analytical results for the stable equilibrium case. The measured large static configurations are found to be in good agreement with the two analytical approaches, and the critical uniform self weight obtained experimentally also shows good correlation with the shooting method.

  • Since the modified membrane element has the same external appearance as the ordinary membrane element, it is not able to apply the thickness variation of sheet metal in the blank holder to the contact treatment and the equally distributed blank holding force should be inevitably imposed on sheet metal along the periphery regardless of the contact status. But sheet metal does not contact with the blank holder at the periphery, nor the blank holding force is distributed uniformly along the boundary. To impose the blank holding force properly, the scheme is improved so that the blank holding force at each node imposed on sheet metal is dependent on the calculated thickness derivation and a state of equilibrium with the total blank holding force. The validity of the improved scheme is demonstrated with the simulation of cylindrical and rectangular cup deep drawing.

  • Stiffened plates are commonly used as a component of ship's structures. Most frequently symmetrically stiffened plates are used, but some of stern structures and any specified parts are often constructed with eccentrically stiffened plates. The problems of these eccentrically stiffened plates have been studied rarely, and the results of eccentricity effect of eccentrically stiffened plates are not available. This paper deals with the analysis of eccentrically stiffened plates in the linear elastic range. The derivation of the stiffness matrix was carried out by finite element method for which the isoparametric element was adopted. To show the effect of eccentricity, the deflection at the center under the uniformly distributed and the concentrated load of simply supported and clamped plate models are computed respectively in accordance with the eccentricity of the stiffener. As shown in the results of computations, the eccentricity effect of concentrated load case is greater than that of distributed load case and that of simply supported boundary condition is greater than that of clamped boundary condition. The higher eccentricity of stiffener is, the smaller the effect of stiffener becomes, therefore scantling of eccentrically stiffened plates should be considerably greater than those of symmetrically stiffened plates.
