  • In this study, in order to examine the change of soil animals by vegetation restoration types, experimental sites with biotope restoration method, forest topsoil paving method, small diameter trees planting method and multi-layer community planting method were applied and the control site was selected. The naturalness of soil animals was analysed by studying the change of soil animals. It was confirmed that the control site has a high level of the naturalness of soil animals as it includes a mixture of fauna sensitive and insensitive to environment distributed widely over the site. The experimental site with biotope restoration method showed a similar level of the naturalness of soil animals as the control site. Furthermore, the naturalness of soil animals in the experimental sites with small diameter trees planting method and multi-layer community planting method also showed a progressive restoration although the level of the naturalness of soil animals is lower than the experimental site with the biotope restoration method. Therefore, it is confirmed that the experimental site with biotope restoration method shows a faster recovery of soil animal than other sites. This is because this method uses the portion of topsoil and subsoil that were dug from the intact forest during transplantation.

  • Gangliosides are widely distributed in mammalian cells and play important roles in various functions such as cell differentiation and growth control. In addition, diabetes and obesity cause abnormal development of reproductive processes in a variety of species. However, the mechanisms underlying these effects, and how they are related, are not fully understood. This study examined whether the differential expression of gangliosides is implicated in the abnormal follicular development and uterine architecture of streptozotocin (STZ)-induced and db/db diabetic mice. Based upon the mobility on high-performance thin-layer chromatography, mouse ovary consisted of at least five different ganglioside components, mainly gangliosides GM3, GM1, GD1a and GT1b, and diabetic ovary exhibited a significant reduction in ganglioside expression with apparent changes in the major gangliosides. A prominent immunofluorescence microscopy showed a dramatic loss of ganglioside GD1a expression in the primary, secondary and Graafian follicles of STZ-induced and db/db diabetic mice. A significant decrease in ganglioside GD3 expression was also observed in the ovary of db/db mice. In the uterus of STZ-induced diabetic mice, expression of gangliosides GD1a and GT1b was obviously reduced, but gangliosides GM1, GM2 and GD3 expression was increased. In contrast, the uterus of db/db mice showed a significant increase in gangliosides GM1, GD1a and GD3 expression. Taken together, a complex pattern of ganglioside expression was seen in the ovary and uterus of normoglycemic ICR and $db/^+$ mice, and the correspoding tissues in diabetic mice are characterized by appreciable changes of the major ganglioside expression. These results suggest that alterations in ganglioside expression caused by diabetes mellitus may be implicated in abnormal ovarian development and uterine structure.

  • In recent years, distributed computing environments have been radically changing to a structure of global, heterogeneous, federative and wide-area systems. This structure's environments consist of a let of objects which are implemented on telecommunication network to provide a wide range of services. Furthermore, all of objects existing on the earth have the duplicated characteristics according to how to categorize their own names or properties. But, the existing naming or trading mechanism has not supported the binding services of duplicated objects, because of deficiency of independent location service. Also, if the duplicated objects which is existing on different nodes provide the same service, it is possible to distribute the client requests considering each system's load. For this reason, we designed and implemented a new model that can not only support the location management of replication objects, but also provide the dynamic binding service of objects located in a system with minimum overload for maintaining load balancing among nodes in wide-area object computing environments. Our model is functionally divided into two parts; one part is to obtain an unique object handle of replicated objects with same property as a naming and trading service, and the other is to search one or more contact addresses by a location service using a given object handle. From a given model mentioned above, we present the procedures for the integrated binding mechanism in design phase, that is, Naming/Trading Service and Location Service. And then, we described in details the architecture of components for Integrated Binding Service implemented. Finally, we showed our implement environment and executing result of our model.

  • DQDB(Distributed Queue Dual Bus) protocol, the IEEE 802.6 standard protocol for metropolitan area networks, does not fully take advantage of the capabilities of dual bus architecture. Although fairness in bandwidth distribution among nodes is improved when using so called the bandwidth balancing mechanism, the protocol requires a considerable amount of time to adjust to changes in the network load. Additionally, the bandwidth balancing mechanism leaves a portion of the available bandwidth unused. In a high-speed backbone network, each node may act as a bridge/ router which connects several LANs as well as hosts. However, Because the existence of high speed LANs becomes commonplace, the congestionmay occur on a node because of the limitation on access rate to the backbone network and on available buffer spaces. to release the congestion, it is desirable to install some congestion control algorithm in the node. In this paper, we propose an efficient congestion control mechanism and fair and waster-free MAC protocol for dual bus network. In this protocol, all the buffers in the network can be shared in such a way that the transmission rate of each node can be set proportional to its load. In other words, a heavily loaded node obtains a larger bandwidth to send the sements so tht the congestion can be avoided while the uncongested nodes slow down their transmission rate and store the incoming segments into thier buffers. this implies that the buffers on the network can be shared dynamically. Simulation results show that the proposed probotol significantly reduces the segment queueing delay of a heavily loaded node and segment loss rate when compared with original DQDB. And it enables an attractive high throughput in the backbone network. Because in the proposed protocol, each node does not send a requet by the segment but send a request one time in the meaning of having segments, the frequency of sending requests is very low in the proposed protocol. so the proposed protocol signigificantly reduces the segment queuing dely. and In the proposed protocol, each node uses bandwidth in proportion to its load. so In case of limitation of available buffer spaces, the proposed protocol reduces segment loss rate of a heavily loaded node. Bandwidth balancing DQDB requires the wastage of bandwidth to be fair bandwidth allocation. But the proposed DQDB MAC protocol enables fair bandwidth without wasting bandwidth by using bandwidth one after another among active nodes.

  • In multi-core processors, Last Level Cache(LLC) can reduce the speed gap between the memory and the core. For this reason, LLC has big impact on the performance of processors. LLC is composed of shared cache and private cache. In computer architecture community, most researchers have mainly focused on the management techniques for shared cache, while management techniques for private cache have not been widely researched. In conventional private LLC, memory is statically assigned to each core, resulting in serious performance degradation when the workloads are not fairly distributed. To overcome this problem, this paper proposes the replacement policy for managing private cache of LLC efficiently. As proposed core-aware cache replacement policy can reconfigure LLC dynamically, hit rate of LLC is increases drastically. Moreover, proposed policy uses 2-bit saturating counters to improve the performance. According to our simulation results, the proposed method can improve hit rates by 9.23% and reduce the access time by 12.85% compared to the conventional method.

  • Rural houses are losing their original shape as they mimic the spatial composition of urban houses. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to extract the design elements needed for rural housing by applying Christopher Alexander's "A PATTERN LANGUAGE" to Standard Rural-House Design (SRHD). The scope and method of research was to compare and analyze the standard designs (SD) produced and distributed by the 'Korea Rural Community Corporation' from 2009 to 2014. The research result is summarized as follows. 1) The housing layout in the SD ignored the site conditions of various rural areas. 2) Most of the houses were not actively planned, considering that they contain various activities of rural life. 3) There was no room for children and the kitchen was planned to integrate the interior into a flexible space in the form of L.D.K. 4) There was no space plan that could be used as both a leasable annex and office space for the farming community. 5) Many small area plans were made because of the SD plan for couples only in 2014. Although the rural environment and living patterns were ignored in the SD, the diverse pattern language provided by the pattern language was developed as a SD element for rural houses, which is the most suitable housing plan for the farmers' livelihood pattern.

  • In this study, we investigated the distribution and habitat of Tscherskia triton from 2014 to 2016 in Jeju Island. Nine individuals of T. triton were observed and captured from four habitat sites. Most of the habitats were of the natural and rural type, and urban type coexisted in some of the areas. The natural type of habitat comprised of forests, shrubs, and grasslands. The habitat of T. triton ranged vertically from 102 m in lowland to 742 m in a mountainous area and was not observed in altitude over 1,000 m. Small brooks, dry streams or wetlands were found to be located nearby the habitat of T. triton. The T. triton was distributed mainly in areas with natural vegetation and artificial plantation in company with the upper story vegetation on the ground of intact or incomplete layer structure, or the area with the relatively large distribution of shrubs and long grassland. The presence of roads and forest paths in these habitats suggested that the T. triton can thrive in areas with human disturbance. The designation of Halla Mountain National Park in Jeju Island as a conservation area prevents damage or loss of the habitat due to any artificial development. However, frequent human disturbances occurring in grassland is tolerated by small mammals. Therefore, in order to help T. triton maintain a stable population density, it is essential that various types of the habitat should be conserved in the middle mountain areas and the grasslands in lowlands should be well protected.

  • First of all, the multi-story Housing applying resident's participation in europe was classified by the menu selection method, the two-step supply method and the cooperative method. And then I analyzed flexible unit plan of cases for deriving the planning methode and the characteristics of flexibility. First, I analyzed the area and form of the unit plan, structure and Installation, fixed and variable elements to derive the planning method. The area of units are distributed from a minimum of $35m^2$ to a maximum of $150m^2$, and many of the unit planes have a narrow front and a deep depth. The structure is a long-span wall-structure or a skeleton structure, and is designed without any columns and bearing walls in the interior space for flexibility in spatial composition. The vertical shafts are located in the center of the unit in a box-form or in the corner at the unit dividing wall for free placement of interior wall. Fixed elements are framework and facility systems. Most of the future residents in the two-steps supply method and the cooperative method were able to freely design the internal space within the zoning concept proposed by the architect and change the location of the facade element within module system proposed by the architect. Second, the characteristics of the flexibility applied to the unit plan were divided in integrated flexibility, functional flexibility, construction flexibility, and supply flexibility. The integrated flexibility enables residents to give the variable space combination based on the complex structure of the inner space for providing various living experiences. Regarding functional flexibility, the three-dimensional spatial structure with neutral space has multi-functionality according to the needs of residents and easily accepts mixing of hybrid programs such as work and residence. Constructive flexibility allows residents to create identity by freely planning interior space and changing the size or location of facade components in a determined system of architects. Finally, various types of size and space composition are proposed and realized in the whole building applying menu selection method, so that flexibility in the offer can accommodate and integrate various types of living.

  • According to the various IoT(Internet of Things) services, there have been lots of task offloading researches for IoT devices. Since there are service response delay and core network load issues in conventional cloud computing based offloadings, fog computing based offloading has been focused whose location is close to the IoT devices. However, even in the fog computing architecture, the load can be concentrated on the for computing node when the number of requests increase. To solve this problem, the opportunistic fog computing concept which offloads task to available computing resources such as cars and drones is introduced. In previous fog and opportunistic fog node researches, the offloading is performed immediately whenever the service request occurs. This means that the service requests can be offloaded to the opportunistic fog nodes only while they are available. However, if the service response delay requirement is satisfied, there is no need to offload the request immediately. In addition, the load can be distributed by making the best use of the opportunistic fog nodes. Therefore, this paper proposes a delayed offloading scheme to satisfy the response delay requirements and offload the request to the opportunistic fog nodes as efficiently as possible.

  • In recent years, the growing interest in off-site construction has led to factories scaling up their manufacturing and production processes in the construction sector. Consequently, continuous large-scale site monitoring in low-variability environments, such as prefabricated components production plants (precast concrete production), has gained increasing importance. Although many studies on computer vision-based site monitoring have been conducted, challenges for deploying this technology for large-scale field applications still remain. One of the issues is collecting and transmitting vast amounts of video data. Continuous site monitoring systems are based on real-time video data collection and analysis, which requires excessive computational resources and network traffic. In addition, it is difficult to integrate various object information with different sizes and scales into a single scene. Various sizes and types of objects (e.g., workers, heavy equipment, and materials) exist in a plant production environment, and these objects should be detected simultaneously for effective site monitoring. However, with the existing object detection algorithms, it is difficult to simultaneously detect objects with significant differences in size because collecting and training massive amounts of object image data with various scales is necessary. This study thus developed a large-scale site monitoring system using edge computing and a small-object detection system to solve these problems. Edge computing is a distributed information technology architecture wherein the image or video data is processed near the originating source, not on a centralized server or cloud. By inferring information from the AI computing module equipped with CCTVs and communicating only the processed information with the server, it is possible to reduce excessive network traffic. Small-object detection is an innovative method to detect different-sized objects by cropping the raw image and setting the appropriate number of rows and columns for image splitting based on the target object size. This enables the detection of small objects from cropped and magnified images. The detected small objects can then be expressed in the original image. In the inference process, this study used the YOLO-v5 algorithm, known for its fast processing speed and widely used for real-time object detection. This method could effectively detect large and even small objects that were difficult to detect with the existing object detection algorithms. When the large-scale site monitoring system was tested, it performed well in detecting small objects, such as workers in a large-scale view of construction sites, which were inaccurately detected by the existing algorithms. Our next goal is to incorporate various safety monitoring and risk analysis algorithms into this system, such as collision risk estimation, based on the time-to-collision concept, enabling the optimization of safety routes by accumulating workers' paths and inferring the risky areas based on workers' trajectory patterns. Through such developments, this continuous large-scale site monitoring system can guide a construction plant's safety management system more effectively.
