협업공학 기반의 제품개발 지원 시스템 (A Collaborative Engineering Based System Supporting Product Development Process)

  • In order to keep and increase a competitive potential, industrial enterprises have to reduce their costs for product development as well as shorten lead time in product development processes. Moreover they have to respond to market factors and conditions such as increasing demands for functionality and individuality of products, short product life cycles, high pressure on prices and time to market. The improved functional requirement in connection with high time and cost pressure lead to high risk in product development. Technological fine improvements in connection with high time and cost pressure lead to high development risk. To cope with these challenges many enterprises have to collaborate globally. The collaborative engineering in product development is aimed to create distributed collaborative corporations and to facilitate the management of design conflicts. This paper provides a methodology for analyzing collaborative design process as well as the tools and the framework to support collaborative product development. The methodology can identify the interdependences among design tasks and teams. The tools and framework are implemented to facilitate the management of product development process.

  • This paper describes the design and implementation of file system which allows the collaborative computing in mobile environment. The design goal is to make a logically one file system in the distributed computer systems. The characteristics of frequent, foreseeable and variable disconnections in a mobile environment wrer taken into consideration. We introduce an auto-hoarding system that provides the availability of large number of nodes which are weakly and intermittently connected. The data consistency problems in distributed or replicated mobile data are also discussed.

  • Maintaining agility and responsiveness m designing and manufacturing activities are the key issues for manufacturing companies to cope with global competition. Distributed design and control systems are regarded as an efficient solution for agility and responsiveness. However, distributed nature of a manufacturing system complicates production activities such as design, simulation, scheduling, and execution control. Especially, existing simulation systems have limited external integration capabilities, which make it difficult to implement complex control mechanisms for the distributed manufacturing systems. Moreover, integration and coupling of heterogeneous components and models are commonly required for the simulation of complex distributed systems. In this paper, a collaborative and adaptive simulation architecture is proposed as an open framework for simulation and analysis of the distributed manufacturing enterprises. By incorporating agents with their distributed characteristics of autonomy, intelligence, and goal-driven behavior, the proposed agent-based simulation architecture can be easily adapted to support the agile and distributed manufacturing systems. The architecture supports the coordination and cooperation relations, and provides a communication middleware among the participants in simulation.

  • 일반적인 본 논문은 인터넷상에서 원격접근으로 3 차원 솔리드 모델을 수정하고 제어할 수 있는 협업설계 시스템을 개발하는데 목적이 있다. 본 시스템은 주어진 구속조건에서 만질 수 있는 설계대상을 설계하기 위해 함께 작업하는데 있어 발생하는 관점의 충돌을 해결할 수 있게 해준다. 협업설계 시스템을 이해하기 위해, 협업설계가 분산환경에 있어서 어떻게 3 차원 솔리드 모델을 실시간으로 수정하도록 구현할 것인가에 중점을 두었다. 본 시스템은 설계 요소들간의 일관성을 유지시키는 방법을 제공한다. 본 시스템은 분산환경에서의 실제적인 적용 예를 통해 그 유효성을 확인한다. 전체 시스템은 협업관리서버, 파일서버, 솔리드 모델러 클라이언트, 원격제어모듈, 클라이언트모듈 등으로 구성된다.

CPC에서의 Workflow 응용 (Applying Workflow Management System to CPC)

  • Collaborative product commerce(CPC) involves many people working together with heterogeneous and distributed software applications. For such an environment, Workflow Management System(WFMS) can be useful for coordination of people, software agents and processes. It provides diverse services including automatic work muting, project management continuous process improvement and application integration. However, there are some limitations to apply WFMS to CPC environment due to inflexibility and lack of design support facilities. This paper identifies the problems and addresses possible approaches to overcome the difficulties.

  • 기존의 CSCW (Computer Supported Collaborative Work) 시스템은 단순히 문서나 메시지를 구성하고 전달하는 기능만을 지원할 뿐 협동 작업자들간의 조직구성, 업무분할 및 통합, 작업흐름 제어와 같은 인지학적 기능등은 효과적으로 반영하지 못하고 있다. 본 연구는 협동작업환경에서의 CAD(Computer Aided Design)/CASE(Computer Aided Software Engineering)와 같은 공학 디자인 프로세스를 인지학적으로 지원하기 위한 CSCW 시스템을 개발하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 제안된 DCWA (Distributed Collaborative Writing Aid) 시스템은 CAD/CASE 및 시뮬레이션 기능을 하나의 시스템으로 통합함으로써 조직구성, 업무분할, 작업흐름제어가 이들 기능에 통일적으로 적용될 수 잇도록 하였다. 특히 CAD 도구에서는 다중 사용자들 소유의 그림객체 간의 바인딩, 어태치먼트, 스케일링 기능들은 제공하여 결합 형태 및 정도를 나타내는 관계성 표현이 가능하도록 함으로써 업무분할 및 병합이 CAD 도구에서도 명확히 드러나도록 하였고, CASE 도구에서는 소프트웨어 시뮬레이션 기능과 연계하여 작업흐름 제어가 용이하도록 하였다. 이는 또한 제품을 생산하기 전에 미리 모형을 시뮬레이션 해봄으로써 제품 개발의 시간과 비용을 단축할 수 있는 효과를 가져다 준다.

지리적으로 분산된 디자이너들을 위한 3D 디자인 협업 환경 - 공유 조작과 원격 실재감을 지원하는 증강현실 기반 인터랙션 기법을 중심으로 - (Collaborative 3D Design Workspace for Geographically Distributed Designers - With the Emphasis on Augmented Reality Based Interaction Techniques Supporting Shared Manipulation and Telepresence -)

  • 국제화, 전문화, 분업화 되고 있는 비즈니스 환경으로 인해 제품 디자인 프로세스에서 협업의 중요성은 날로 높아지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 서로 다른 공간에 존재하는 디자인 전문가들이 3D 모델을 함께 검토하고 논의할 수 있는 실시간 원격디자인 협업 환경을 제안한다. 특히 원격 협업 환경에서 원격 실재감, 공유조작, 상대 인식 등의 비언어적인 의사소통 방법을 제공하는 새로운 인터랙션 기법을 개발하고, 디자인 리뷰와 관련된 작업에 어떠한 영향을 끼치는지 평가하였다. 관련연구 조사와 디자인 협업 행태의 관찰 실험을 기반으로 작업대상 관련, 작업공간 관련, 상대인식 관련 요구사항을 도출하였다. 이를 충족시키기 위해 증강현실(Augmented Reality) 기반의 3차원 원격 협업 환경을 구축하였고 원격 사용자에 대한 존재감을 제공하는 회전원반(Turn-table)과 가상그림자(Virtual Shadow)라는 인터랙션 도구를 개발하였다. 회전원반은 가상모델의 조작에 직관성을 부여하고 상대의 조작에 물리적인 단서를 제공한다. 가상그림자는 상대의 위치, 제스처, 지시 등의 인식 정보를 지속적이고 자연스럽게 제공한다. 평가 실험을 통하여 새로운 인터랙션 도구들이 3D 모델의 검토에 있어서 대략적인 지시를 효과적으로 지원하며 수정사항에 대한 논의를 촉진시킴을 알 수 있었다. 연구 결과는 가상의 3차원 모델을 다루는 원격에 위치한 사용자들(디자이너-디자이너, 디자이너-엔지니어, 혹은 디자이너-모델러 등) 간의 자연스러운 의사소통을 촉진하고 협업의 효율을 증대시키는데 기여할 수 있다.

협업 설계에서의 다중해상도 모델링 응용 (Application of Multi-Resolution Modeling in Collaborative Design)

  • Information assurance(IA) refers to methodologies to protect engineering information by ensuring its availability, confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, authentication, access control, etc. In collaborative design, IA techniques are needed to protect intellectual property, establish security privileges and create "need to know" protections on critical features. Aside from 3D watermarking, research on how to provide IA to distributed collaborative engineering teams is largely non-existent. This paper provides a framework for information assurance within collaborative design, based on a technique we call role-based viewing. Such role-based viewing is achieved through integration of multi-resolution geometry and security models. 3D models are geometrically partitioned, and the partitioning is used to create multi-resolution mesh hierarchies. Extracting an appropriately simplified model suitable for access rights for individual designers within a collaborative design environment is driven by an elaborate access control mechanism.

협업적 소프트웨어 개발 관리 시스템의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of a Collaborative Software Development Management System)

  • Since software development team members have been more geographically spread due to the globalization of business and Internet technologies, the management of deliverables and communication efforts for developing high-quality software products on time is becoming more complicated. Among the functional requirements for collaborative software development management, the manipulation of shared information objects is essential for the collaborative work among distributed development team members. This paper proposes an integrated information object management framework comprised of a so-called BOC (Bill Of Class) scheme and a standardized software part dictionary for managing shared information objects efficiently among distributed co-workers. In order to manage these complex information objects, the proposed framework adopt product structures represented by Bills Of Materials (BOM) as stems for integrating the various information objects. Based on the proposed framework, a collaborative software development management system (CSDMS) is implemented, and the functionalities and the structure of the system are also described in this paper. The proposed system provides sufficient functionalities for the change management of information objects and the management of their relationship to other objects rather than existing system.

  • To deliver new products to market in a due time, companies often develop their products with numerous partners distributed around the world. Internet technologies can provide a cheap and efficient basis of collaborative product development among distributed partners. This paper provides a framework and its product database model that can support consistent product data during collaborative product development. This framework consists of four components for representing consistent product structure: the product configuration, assembly structure, multiple representations and engineering changes. A product database model realizing the framework is designed and implemented as a system that supports collaborative works in the areas of product design and technical publication. The system enables participating designers and technical publishers to complete their tasks with shared and consistent product data. It also manages the propagation of engineering changes among different representations for individual participants. The Web technologies introduced in this system enable participants to easily access and operate shared product data in a standardized and distributed computing environment.
