A Study on Improvement of AODV for Hybrid Wireless Mesh Networks (혼합형 무선 메시 네트워크를 위한 AODV 개선 연구)

  • By the enormous increase in mobile nodes and diverse service requests on wireless networks, wireless mesh network(WMN) takes an interest as the solution for such requests. However, lots of issues which should be solved to deploy WMN are still remained. In the network layer, the performance improvement of routing protocols is the major issue of nowadays researches. WMN can be easily deployed by use of protocols for mobile ad-hoc networks(MANET) because it is much similar with MANET in multi-hop wireless routing and which node plays as host and router concurrently. Unfortunately, most routing protocols for MANET have drawbacks such as large traffic overhead and long delay time for route discovery due to the network extension. They are major factors of performance degradation of WMN and most researches are focused on them. In this paper, domain-based AODV which is amended AODV to be applied in hybrid WMN is proposed. The proposed scheme divides a hybrid WMN as several domains and performs route discovery by header layer domain. Therefore it can reduce the distance for route discovery as much as average hop count between domain header and member nodes. From the simulation, domain-based AODV was showed slowly increasing delay time due to the network extension.

Efficient Shortest Path Techniques on a Summarized Graph based on the Relationships (관계기반 요약그래프에서 효율적인 최단경로 탐색기법)

  • As graphs are becoming increasingly large, the costs for storing and managing data are increasing continuously. Shortest path discovery over a large graph requires long running time due to frequent disk I/Os and high complexity of the graph data. Recently, graph summarization techniques have been studied, which reduce the size of graph data and disk I/Os by representing highly dense subgraphs as a single super-node. Decompressing should be minimized for efficient shortest path discovery over the summarized graph. In this paper, we analyze the decompression performance of a summarized graph and propose an approximate technique that discovers the shortest path quickly with a minimum error ratio. We also propose an exact technique that efficiently discovered the shortest path by exploiting an index built on paths containing super-nodes. In our experiments, we showed that the proposed technique based on the summarized graph can reduce the running time by up to 70% compared with the existing techniques performed on the original graph.

A Semantic Service Discovery System for Smart-Cities (스마트시티를 위한 시맨틱 서비스 디스커버리 시스템)

  • In Smart-cities, various types of integrated services must be linked to provide services to applications. Therefore, flexibility must be ensured between services so that various services can be efficiently provided. In order to secure the flexibility among services, it is very important to have a function to dynamically discover and invoke a desired service by searching for a semantic service by reflecting a recognized context through real-time context-aware in smart-cities. To date, quite a number of semantic service discovery techniques have been developed. However, they have not been verified as suitable for use in the smart-city domain. In this study, we tried to verify the existing ones to use a suitable one. We tested most of existing semantic service discovery techniques, but we found that none of them is suitable to our research. Therefore, we developed our own semantic service discovery technique. This paper introduces our work and presents the performance evaluation results that demonstrate that our developed works well and show good performance. For the performance evaluation, the experimental system was actually constructed and the real performance was measured. In the experiment, we implemented the semantic service discovery scenario that dynamically searches and calls the services needed to provide fire accident management services in smart cities.

Physical properties and intracellular uptake of polyethyleneglycol-incorporated cationic liposomes (폴리에틸렌글리콜이 도입된 양이온성 리포솜의 물리적 특성 및 세포이입효과)

  • Liposomes as one of the efficient drug carriers have some shortcomings such as their short circulation time, fast clearance from human body by reticuloendothelial system (RES) and limited intracellular uptake to target cell. In this study, polyethylenglycol (PEG)-incorporated cationic liposomes were prepared by ionic complexation of positively charged liposomes with carboxylated polyethyleneglycol (mPEG-COOH). The cationic liposomes had approximately $98.6{\pm}1.0nm$ of mean particle diameter and $42.8{\pm}0.8mV$ of zeta potential value. The PEG-incorporated cationic liposomes had $110.1{\pm}1.2nm$ of mean particle diameter with an increase of about 10 nm compared to the cationic liposomes. Zeta potential value of them was $12.9{\pm}0.6mV$ indicating 30mV decrease of cationic charge compared to the cationic liposomes. The amount of PEG which was incorporated onto the cationic liposomes was assayed by using picrate assay method and the incorporation efficiency was $58.4{\pm}1.1%$. Loading efficiency of model drug, doxorubicin, into cationic liposomes or PEG-incorporated cationic liposomes was about $96.0{\pm}0.7%$. Results of intracellular uptake which were evaluated by flow cytometry analysis of doxorubicin loaded liposomes showed that intracellular uptake of PEG-incorporated cationic liposomes was higher than the cationic liposomes or DSPE-mPEG liposomes. In addition, cytotoxicity of PEG-incorporated cationic liposomes was comparable to cationic liposomes. Consequently, the PEG-incorporated cationic liposomes of which surface was incorporated with PEG by ionic complex may be applicable as anticancer drug carriers that can increase therapeutic efficacy.

However, plain liposomes are plagued by rapid opsonization, making their circulation time in bloodstream be shortened. In this study, model protein, bovine serum albumin (BSA)-coated liposomes were prepared by coating cationic liposomes with BSA molecules at higher pH than isoelectric point of BSA. The BSA molecules coated on the liposomal surface were denatured by thermal treatment at above 60oC. While both plain and cationic liposomes had about mean particle diameter of 1041 nm, BSA-coated cationic liposomes (BCL) had mean particle diameter of 1091 nm. Encapsulation of model drug, doxorubicin (DOX), in liposomes were carried out by using remote loading method and the loading efficiency of DOX to liposomes was about 90%. The mean particle diameter of BCL did not increase in blood plasma and adsorption of plasma protein was much less than plain or cationic liposomes. These results suggest that BCL can be used as a long-circulating liposomes in bloodstream.

  • 본 논문은 시 계열 데이터에서의 연관성 발견에 있어서 복잡성과 연산량을 효과적으로 줄이며 연관성을 찾아내는 기법에 대해 기술한다. 기존의 시 계열 데이터에서의 sequence 분할 방법은 복잡한 clustering 기법을 사용하여 많은 시간과 resource를 필요로 하는 제한이 있다 이에 본 논문에서는 효과적인 sequence 분할을 위한 증감 table을 이용한 방법을 제안하였다.

  • This thesis analyzes the nature of proof in the perspective on the philosophy of mathematics. such as absolutism, quasi-empiricism and social constructivism. And this thesis searches for the improvement of teaching proof in the light of the result of those analyses of the nature of proof. Though the analyses of the nature of proof in the perspective on the philosophy of mathematics, it is revealed that proof is a dynamic reasoning process unifying the way of analytical thought and the way of synthetical thought, and plays remarkably important roles such as justification, discovery and conviction. Hence we should teach proof as a dynamic reasoning process unifying the way of analytic thought and the way of synthetic thought, avoiding the mistake of dealing with proof as a unilaterally synthetic method. At the same time, we should make students have the needs of proof in a natural way by providing them with the contexts of both justification and discovery simultaneously. Finally, we should introduce the aspect of proof that can be represented as conviction, understanding, explanation and communication to school mathematics.

  • A bioassay is a test system using a living organism (in whole or in part) to determine the presence or relative potency of chemical substances. The development and uses of bioassay are intimately linked to the discovery and characterization of the major classes of plant hormones. An application of this relationship is helpful for understanding the concept of plant hormones as well as the use of bioassay. And plant bioassay have been development and employed not only for the discovery and characterization of the biological activity of plant growth regulators but also have served several important secondary roles. The ideal bioassay should possess the characteristic of high specificity. great sensitivity. short response time, low cost and ease of obtaining plant material. acceptable ease of manipulation, and minimal space and equipment requirements.

  • The process of drug discovery and drug development consumes billions of dollars to bring a new drug to the market. Drug development is time consuming and sometimes, the failure rates are high. Thus, the pharmaceutical industry is looking for a better option for new drug discovery. Drug repositioning is a good alternative technology that has demonstrated many advantages over de novo drug development, the most important one being shorter drug development timelines. In the last two decades, drug repositioning has made tremendous impact on drug development technologies. In this review, we focus on the recent advances in drug repositioning technologies and discuss the repositioned drugs used for inflammatory diseases such as sepsis, asthma, and atopic dermatitis.
